BLACK PISTOL FIRE IN CONCERT:

Hard-hitting blues rock duo Black Pistol Fire has been wowing crowds and steadily building a devoted fanbase since they got started in 2010. The group scorches through their amped-up blues with a punk rock fervor in concert, doling out fuzzy guitar riffs and booming drum fills that get crowds headbanging along with their furious tunes. Guitarist/singer Kevin McKeown delivers passionate solos in between his howled verses, and drummer Eric Owen keeps their fiery jams firing on all cylinders with his energetic, intricate beats. Black Pistol Fire don't hold back during their explosive live shows, and ticket buyers will love every heart-pounding second of their sets as they tear through favorites "Hipster Shakes", "Run Rabbit Run", and "Bad Blood".

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Kevin McKeown and Eric Owen have been friends since their kindergarten days in Toronto. The two began their musical collaboration in high school playing in various bands and covering popular alternative groups like Weezer. After relocating to Austin, TX in 2010, the duo adopted the name Black Pistol Fire and switched their focus to hard rocking blues and R&B. They released a self-titled debut album in 2011 and picked up steam the following year with their sophomore LP Big Beat '59, and in 2013 they blew fans away at SXSW with a performance that led Huffington Post to label the group the "next big thing" in their festival wrap-up. After thrilling fans with the release of their third album Hush and Howl in 2014, they reached an even wider audience by touring with Wolfmother. Black Pistol Fire continue to deliver the same high-energy sound in both their rocking live shows and gripping records – including 2016's Don't Wake the Riot.

  • Black Pistol Fire!

by Bigred158 on 7/23/16The Cambridge Room at House Of Blues - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

I have to admit my expectations weren't high going into this show as I pictured this band as a White Stripes or Black Keys knock off. Basically I was completely off base. While the BK influences are obvious this band has their own style. Long story short he show was incredible. Energetic, tight and non-stop. I've been to hundreds of concerts and I would put this show into my top 10. I took 3 people who really aren't into this type of music and they were completely blown away as well. Can't wait to see them on the next tour.

Black Pistol Fire never disappoint. These guys ROCK!

  • How do they do that!?

    by brfowl5865 on 7/13/16Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Loud, fantastically played rock & roll with unforgettable stage presence. I really don't know how Kevin (lead singer and guitarist) has the energy to do that night after night. Saw them at The Masquerade in Atlanta on the front row, but it doesn't matter where you are, these guys will blow you away. Their show included Kevin jumping on the bass drum to finish a solo (seemingly a staple for their live shows), stepping off the stage into the crowd to play a solo, and a crowd surf while playing. I'll be seeing these guys every chance I get!

  • Black Pistol Fires on all cylinders...

This duo had so much energy, I was tired for them. They played for a solid ninety minutes, non-stop, no breaks, no volume less than 110%. I can honestly say it was one of the most energetic shows I've ever been to. I was completely blown away with the musicianship and showmanship of two dudes, two instruments and a stage. I highly encourage anyone and everyone to see a BPF show, even if you don't know their music. It's a spectacle in itself.

  • Thinking person's southern rock

I'm an old geezer and was very impressed by their chops but more so their 'well curated' musical vocabulary. Their rock sampling including Dylan's subterranean blues, was great. Also, their choice of 'Ohio' to end, considering the current state of politics was inspired. My wife and I loved it! Also, very nice quality t-shirts that are soft material and actually wearable.

  • Black Pistol Fire was an Experience in Awsomeness!

If you like bone rattling 100% pure rock n, roll at it's best, then you'll love Black Pistol Fire! All unbelievablly packaged in a 2 person wrapper. I saw them with my 20 year old son at the Duckroom basement venue on the Delmar Loop in St Louis. I was really looking forward to seeing and hearing them in person. My expectations were high and I was not disappointed. These guys are bigger than they are (you music fans of the lesser known bands know what I mean)!

Simply the best show on earth. I am convinced they never play the same song the same way twice.

Fully charged energy the entire time! How do they expend so much raw passion so consistantly? Second time I've seen them live and will go every chance I get

This was a great venue to see these guys. They are amazing, good musicians really tight and energetic. they had the whole place shaking! My only criticism is I wish they had merch out. Would've liked to support the band by purchasing.
