Let me first start off by saying the show was absolutely amazing! This is my fourth time seeing the show and it has a provided a new twist each year! We absolutely love it! The venue was not so great! We usually see the show in Atlanta. We decided to go to Macon, Ga this year. We paid for floor seats, but the diagram did not show we would literally be sitting on the auditorium’s floor in padded seats. Of course being a vertically challenged individual, (5ft) , many people came to sit in their seats , blocking my view. No shade being thrown on the taller peeps, but the seats were not raised preventing that to occur. Believe it or not, the seats in the balcony were actually raised!! Oh boy!! I will contribute to take my family to see this amazing production, but never again in Macon, Ga. I need to add one for tidbit, what on earth happened to the programs for the play?? We have always received a program. I love reading about the characters and their professional background.
The show had wonderful music! We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Excellent show!!!!. My family were moved by the singing and dancing during the entire play. We were over joyed by the stellar performance of the entire cast. Definitely 5 stars!!!
Loved all of it! I took my Mom and she really enjoyed the production. Will go again next year. Great way to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Outstanding in every way! The music, the costumes, and I can't say enough about the wonderful voices of the cast!!!!! Can't wait til next year! If there is anything I would change it would be the volume, it was a bit too loud occasionally.
My experience started when I walked through the doors seeing the black own vendors. Secondly, while being seated the older gentleman on the microphone was full of excitement for us to be there to experience Black Nativity. I've never had such a beautiful and heartfelt experience like this show ever in my life and I don't think that another show will ever top this experience. To have a show rooted from the black culture was astonishing. I'm so happy that I brought my 8 year old son with me. We had the best experience of a lifetime which was also so spiritual led. We were blessed!
This was one of THE MOST AMAZING Gospel performances I have ever experienced!! The song selection and singing was absolutely soul stirring!! Each song was sung with such authenticity, anointing and Holy Ghost power that you had no choice but to praise God and feel His presence in that place! Just wow!! I am sooooo happy I was able to witness this program!!!
This is about the 5th time I have experienced Black Nativity. It has gone through a few changes since the very first showing but the essence and power of the play remains. I recommend everyone to go at least once. There is ALWAYS (all 5 times I been) been a moment where the Holy Spirit shows up and the audience breaks into praise. This goes to show that God's hand is on this play. This 2019 version had just a few spots I wish they had not changed because I think the change was not as powerful as previous versions: 1. The african dance in this version was not as powerful as previous versions. I felt the choreography was softened and the costumes were not as good as before. In previous versions the dancers were in the audience and this was powerful. This time they remained on stage. I'd recommend improving this scene. 2. The scene with the angels was more powerful when the stage was dark and the angels had a blue-purple light. The wings were much more expansive in previous versions. This version the angels just were not as powerfully displayed and it took a little away. 3. I did like the added songs. Some of the singers in the show I saw (2pm on a Saturday) didn't blend as well as before. I like that they kept many of the singers from last year but some of the new ones were not as good. These are just minor recommendations because as I said, it was still a powerful experience. I'm a veteran of the show so I'm just making some comparisons. If you are a first-timer, you wouldn't even notice some of these things :)
Great experience. Wished i had seats closer. Want to see it again.
The best show I've see all year! The singing and dancing was phenomenal throughout. A special mention for the ladies/angels in white; they stole the show. I felt like I had really experienced the love of our creator!
I go every year to Black Nativity & it gets better & better! They ‘tweek’’ it to make it socially & politically relevant for the current times. It is a MUST see!
Absolutely Excellent!! Music, Singers, Presentation, Costumes. Venue was Amazing and Beautiful.
This was my first time seeing the musical and it will now be my family annual tradition. It is a must see!
Every person that had a singing part could sing very well, and you could tell the person was singing their role with passion. Every person in the play did his or her part from their heart. The energy from the individuals in Black Nativity poured over into the audience to feel the passion. I encourage others to purchase tickets to see Black Nativity. I look forward to seeing Black Nativity again because it is enjoyable throughout the whole seen. UM UM GOOD!!
When I bought the tickets to the Black Nativity I thought... "This would be a nice way to enjoy the holiday". But I received so much more than I expected. The music was so on point, the energy from the stage permeated the arena. I have always made it a point to fill my holiday season with beautiful events and fellowships. This event is at the top of my list, for great events of 2019. Looking forward to 2020's Black Nativity. ( I just wished the play was longer).
SPECTACULAR!! AMAZING!! What a joyful presentation.
Phenomenal excellent dynamic I’m looking forward to next time
A one and a half hour performance went by in thirty minutes!
It is a spectacular experience that you have to see for oneself.
