Venue felt like the wrong scale for the show

by jay_SF on 2/11/22Chase Center - San Francisco

If I had known the show would be so rooted in the visual I would have made sure my seats were square to the stage. The venue was also too large for the design of the show, it really needed a space that was probably have the size. Because so much of the show was the visuals the constant stream of people walking up and down the aisle really detracted from the impact of the show. We were located near and entrance which made it even worst. The ushers kept walking by with flash lights and shooting beams of light down the stairs whenever someone would walk by which left like every other minute. I'm sure as with most concerts if you have a floor seat the experience would have been completely different. But for those of use in the less expensive seats, it really wasn't worth it, and I'm a fan of Bjork.

    AMAZING SHOW

Stunning visuals, beautiful sound, just a marvel of artistic creativity. I have loved Björk for decades and I feel very fortunate to have finally experienced her in such an epic live performance.

Bjork Great! Chase needs work for live music

by Steve on 2/11/22Chase Center - San Francisco

The chase center isn’t ready yet for high quality live music. During very quiet parts of the show, you could hear compressors running from all the food and beverage equipment in the stadium.

    Couldn't see the stage well

by Demon Daughter +777 on 2/11/22Chase Center - San Francisco

It's not Björk's fault but I got a floor seat and thought I'd be able to see her better. But alas, I found myself ducking and dodging around in order to catch glimpses of her. The stage needed to be higher. Next time I'll get a seat in the bleachers so I can see better. Hopefully she posts the video footage of the concert on her website like she said.

Visually mesmerizing.... musically a little hard to follow

by Marko on 2/11/22Chase Center - San Francisco

Don't expect to hear Bjork's hits, or a mix of hits and new songs. Cornucopia is an opus. She has no guitars, drums, bass etc. The 'band' is 7 flutes, a harp and an amazing choir from Los Angeles. The entire set is a musical composition designed to take you on a journey through the destruction of earth by climate change, the mutation of humans and species and a rebirth into a new world. It's hard to stay with her because she's often so non-melodic even though musically very advanced. This is not entertaining, or soothing, or pleasant. It's a challenge to help us imagine, make us think, and pull us out of our comfortable laziness. I applaud Bjork for the incredible work she has done, but I would not go back to see the show again, nor would I buy the album.

Walked out - Great venue and staff, but bjork phoned it in

by K on 2/11/22Chase Center - San Francisco

I stayed for roughly 90 minutes so this review will be based on that time spent. I am a lifelong fan of Bjork and flew to see her, planning my first vacation in 3 years around this concert so it was a massive disappointment to encounter her zero connection to the audience. When I go to a concert, it's a religious experience - I am paying homage to an icon and it needs to feel like the artist is also present and engaged. However, this tour relied heavily on everything but bjork's presence. The visuals were stunning, but most of the time, the large screens were not used to show a closeup of bjork performing so unless you're in the first 5 rows - she's a blur. This effect was enhanced by her costume which was a full face mask and a blob of a dress, which left me wondering - is this even bjork? The choir and dancers were much more present and have beautiful performances. Some of the visuals projected were quite violent and disturbing as well and I found triggering. She also flashes lights a lot so be aware if you or a guest are sensitive to that. As an avant-garde artist, musician, and poet, I respect her eccentricity, perhaps shyness, and vision, but I also found her older work (of which she only plays 2 minor hits) more intimate- a trait lost to the technology, choir, dancers, costume, and mask - highly theatrical but the same as watching it on your phone - and can be replicated without her actual presence, which she unfortunately proved. They say you should never meet your idols...

Bjork Is Incredible, but the Chase Center

by Torilover on 2/11/22Chase Center - San Francisco

Bjork will always be incredible. No doubt about it. There is no criticism. She is perfection. However the choice to host her at the Chase Center really took away from the experience. The place is so huge and her Cornucopia show was not created to be hosted in such a venue. I am overjoyed to know that Bjork can sellout huge stadiums, but I was underwhelmed by the show as it’s grandeur was squelched by the grandeur if such a vacuous space.

Loved to pray with our alien godmother in a gigantic spaceship church (Chase Center). What a treat seeing Björk performing live. That was amazing!

The visuals of Bjork’s show were beyond extraordinary!

by The Hunter on 2/9/22Chase Center - San Francisco

I’ve been to many concerts but never witnessed visuals on this level; the crowd was spellbound by the perpetually flowing, cosmic images that perpetually morphed into fantastical organic shapes and beyond…Bjork was so powerful, her voice a laser, her command and presence so alive and passionate; this was my 1st Bjork show, and I was left almost speechless, as were many that night…long live true artistry, long live Bjork and her unique, transcendent music!!!

    Super cool, but too short!

by CC on 2/8/22Chase Center - San Francisco

Super cool show. Amazing visuals and sound. I just wish it was longer, it seems like given the $170 ticket for a seat in the back we should’ve gotten a bit more out of it.

    Cornucopia of wonderment

by Pip on 2/8/22Chase Center - San Francisco

Bjork put on a mesmerizing show. the visuals were amazing and her voice was in great form. The concert was unlike any I have seen. I love that she re-arranged her hit songs to fit the theme/mood of the entire show. I would definitely recommend the show.

    Great first show @ Chase

by Gray on 2/8/22Chase Center - San Francisco

Things I liked about chase: Multiple areas to meet people, small bars and restaurants hidden away into the portals, an open feeling to the layout, seats were pretty comfy. Enjoyed the use of scents during the show. The show was a little hard to see from our upper section, so I was glad I brought binoculars, made viewing the show much more intimate and expressive. Show was great, the sound was actually really great (although because it was mostly an acoustic/singing set, there wasn’t a lot of bass to muddy the room). I like the chase pavilion outside where folks can meet before or after the show, I think that’s an important aspect to sharing events. The only real complaint I have is that the entire mission bay is 1 hr parking till 10PM, which makes it incredibly difficult to drive from places where public transit might be lacking and stil get parking. This really needs to be figured out to ensure the continued functioning of mission bay.

    Need more sound

by Jen on 2/8/22Chase Center - San Francisco

She was incredible but the theatre could have better sound. It did not envelope me . It was as if there was no speakers set up in the back

    Phenomenal!!

by Megan on 2/8/22Chase Center - San Francisco

Björk has been one of my heroes since I was 13 years old. A true visionary. Still thrilled that we’ve experienced a once in a century artist like her. The show was phenomenal, she was so childlike and magical to witness. She blossoms before your very eyes, and you can feel her emotions like electricity. A euphony of sound matched with kaleidoscopic prisms of light—the costumes, the orchestra… the emotive dance—all of it so spectacular. There are no words in the English language to describe it. It’s been a lifelong dream to see her, I cried. Twice.

    Incredible Show

by VickieJo on 2/8/22Chase Center - San Francisco

Bjork rarely disappoints creatively (yes, she gets a little nuts musically) and this show was no exception. Approach the show as a fantastic multi media experience in which she reframes old hits as if they were brand new. And this is not one of her discordant phases, the music is beautiful and super fans will be able to pick up songs via lyrics, even if the tune is unrecognizable. I so wanted to hear favorites but instead, I got even more. Incredible.

It was a magical experience. I love Bjork. Her voice is ahmahzing-strong and beautiful even after all of these decades. The show was a visual and auditory triumph.
