Only 2 concession stands open, very little to choose from after long wait in line, no straws, horribly understaffed,
I really enjoyed the Birmingham Legion soccer match. Birmingham is making a name for themselves, with their hard nose style of play.
The game was great, however it took almost an hour to make it to the front of the line to get food/drinks. If that is not resolved, I will not go back.
Missed half of the game Waiting in line for food. We arrived at 5:30 to see that only two concessions stands were open. We went ti the first one by the team shop and she stated that they werent open yet. And when i returned 15 minutes later she stated that they didnt have any food only soda and beer available. We went to the next concession stand stood in line for 45 minutes to be told that they were no hot dogs, corndogs, it would be a wait on prezels which was still frozen, not popcorn even though it was popped fresh but they had no bags or boxes to put the popcorn in. We were lucky enough to get a chicken finger basket, which we still had to wait an additional 15 minutes for. For this to be the season opener it wasnt the best. It seemed like they were not prepared at all for the crowds.
Night game played at traditional dinner time and the stadium only had hot dogs and pretzels and candy. Should have had full service - at least on the side of the stadium where seats were sold. Bad home opener and reflected poorly on the home team. Progressive Stadium likely culprit
There were only two concessions to get food with no option for beer at these sites and only one place to get alcohol. We only wanted a beer and stood in line for the entire 1st half to get a beer. Thank goodness we had eaten before we got there because we would have not seen the game if we had to stand in both lines. I heard a dad say to his 3 children, all under the age of 8, do you want to eat or watch the game, what a choice for a child to make. What little we saw of the game was great, I love that stadium as well.
Planned on eating dinner at the stadium since it was a 6:30 pm game. Arrived at 6:00 and waited in line for about 30 minutes only to get up to the front of the line and the worker told us that this particular food stall didn’t have food or beer only soda and candy. So we went to another stall where we waited about 45 minutes only to get to the front and they told us that they ran out of food. Missed the entire first half for nothing. A waste of time and money.
Weather was horrible!! Which I know that is impossible to change. I bought club seat tickets for my wife and I. You could not see the field from the seats inside. The games was not on the TV's in the clubhouse! We had to stand and watch the jumbotron. Anyway, they were not very fan friendly. The only gift shop was outside with minimal supplies. Again I hope it was because of the weather. Not a very good exper
It might have been the best live sporting event I have been to watch. I have seen my favorite teams in the NFL, NHL, MLB, and NASCAR live and the Legion playoff game was as exciting as any of those events. It was awesome, I know you rarely if ever get OT in a soccer match and shoot outs are even more rare but this playoff game had it all, even had a referee take out a player that may have cost B'ham the game. Still awesome environment, great fans, excellent stadium and an awesome match.
What a game. My first soccer game and it delivered. Love the venue.
We had a great time at the Legion game. We always do! The fans are always great and the team is amazing. My kiddos love going out onto the field to chat with players and get pictures after the game. Go Legion!
I’m a newly converted soccer fan. I have 3 grand children playing soccer so I figured that I had better learn the game so I bought tickets for all of us to go to a Legions game. I always enjoy hanging out with my family but I really enjoyed the soccer game. I had so much fun that I went to the Legions game against San Diego too. The stadium is super nice, parking was great, and of course concessions are expensive just like at any other stadium. The tickets are extremely reasonable which makes this a great family outing.
We love cheering on the Legion, and Protective Stadium is a great place to do so. Legion! FC!
The Legion has come a long way since its inaugural season. Each of the first half goals represented excellent teaching moments for those learning the game- #1, the value of the high press, #2 penetration into the penalty box, #3 the acute through ball from Santos in the central midfield, the two forwards interchanging to draw the two marking backs to the right and the run by Santos from the midfield into the resulting slot in the penalty area, and #4, the overlapping run by the fullback down the right, his first time cross and strong header away from the goalkeeper. All of this in front of an excited and appreciative, but dismally-sized crowd. Birmingham has an outstanding team in the Legion - more people ought to come and see them - next game on August 13.
Will go back and watch them play every opportunity I get thanks Birmingham and the legion soccer team
Nice area, good restaurants, felt very clean and safe. Not a big crowd at all but a lot of fun.
We had great seats and the new stadium was amazing. We are good food and drank cold beers. I can’t wait to go again. All the staff that we came across were so nice. The bathrooms were clean and parking was good.
Overall just beautiful stadium. Lots of seating avaliable but hopefully we will fill these up in future with more fans.
Birmingham Legion soccer games are a lot of fun and the stadium was great
Great I enjoy the game and Ticketmaster was great for me and it was not a hassle
