    Enchanting evening

by artisin on 12/15/14BJCC - Birmingham

It was wonderful! Even though not all rescues are mutts and not all dogs were rescues it was a wonderful event. Sorry the Humane society did not include any dogs up for adoption like last year but the dogs were great!

    Enchanting, Delightful and Wonderful Event

by PenguinPenny on 12/15/14BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

Last year was my first to attend the Muttcracker. Last year was great but but this year's performance was even better. This is now an annual tradition for my husband and me. Next year I plan to bring one of or more of my grandchildren. This is an event perfect for all ages!

This was really a sweet show. The children were great...........everyone did a remarkable job and the animals added a real touch or humor to it. Well worth the money. I will definatey go next year. It is a benefit for the Humane Society of Birmingham and they need all the financial support they can get, as animal neglect and abuse is a huge problem in Alabama.

    Mutt Cracker needs more mutts

by See4 on 12/15/14BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

The MuttCracker was a worthwhile event but needed more dogs! We chose this over the traditional Nutcracker so the kids wouldn't fall asleep (the boys - 7 and 8). And...they fell asleep anyway. "When does the "Mutt" part start?" they asked over and over again. The dogs were great but only showed up for a small portion of the production. I would cut the length of the show and focus more on the dogs. Patrons wanting a ballet focus could then attend the traditional event another night.

    Muttcracker was Magical!

by Azalea244 on 12/15/14BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

Loved it, loved it, loved it! The dancers were marvelous, and the scenery was beautiful. The dogs in the ballet were so awesome. .... Funny, beautiful, talented, and so unpredictable! The tiny children were just so precious. Can't wait for next year!

Artist's Palette was innovative and joyful!

    by Artteacher72 on 5/7/13BJCC Theatre - Birmingham

It was so beautiful to see the professionalism of the dancers. They seemed to really enjoy their dances. The Artist's Palette with Art Price's work coming down from the ceiling and the dancers taking the parts of the people in the paintings was fabulous!!!! What an innovative collaboration between the arts. Congratulations to Cindy Free and her amazing dancers for an evening of pure enjoyment!! Thank you!!

    Poor performance overall.

by hruizns on 2/26/13BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

The director tried to create something different. The result was an overall poor performance with lack of choreography. The timing was off with the music. Long time gaps between each staging. To make things more unpleasant: a photographer on the first line was using his noisy and loud camera constantly, disrupting the audience. It is a shame because the concept was original. The results left too much to desire.

Neverland & Peter Pan were so much fun to watch!

by BhamArtLover on 2/25/13BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

This was by far, the most enjoyable ballet I have ever seen. Our group ranged in age from 5 years old to 79 years old and we all loved it! The show was funny with beautiful sets and georgeous lead dancers. It's a definite must-see for all dance lovers.

    Sleeping Beauty Magical!!!

by dancepro1 on 4/16/11BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

Take master storytelling, an age old classic, exciting staging, beautiful professional dancers combined with well-trained children in appropriate roles, and you have an unmatched family series production. This company continues to produce high quality dance theater. This was the best yet!

    Sleeping Beauty Just Awful

    by Bham11 on 4/1/11BJCC - Birmingham

If you are looking for a professional production then skip this one. This was strictly as "school" performance and not one meant as a professional production. Was really hoping to see some professional level dancing but it was a performance meant for parents and relatives - not for true lovers of the arts. If you wanting to see good ballet -skip their performances.

by kpikulski on 2/28/11BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

The performance was wonderful! They were able to keep a seven year old enthralled the whole time and now she wants to take ballet so she can be up there. The dancer's were amazing and the costumes were so beautiful! Really, really well done!

    Amazing performance!

by NixieKiss666 on 2/27/11BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

When I bought the tickets I mainly did because I haven't seen a ballet in a long while and I really enjoy the story of Sleeping Beauty. I wasn't sure what to expect along the lines of performers and what age this ballet would appeal to. I went with a friend and we were very very pleasantly surprised! The retelling of the story was fabulous and I loved how some of the actual songs from the Disney movie were incorporated. The dancers ranged from very young to seasoned which was good to see. The venue was very nice, accomodating, and the staff was very helpful in directing us around the facility. I told all my friends about the show and my friend and I are very excited to see upcoming shows. A+++
