Raised in Michigan and now based in Nashville, GRAMMY Award-winning Billy Strings is known as one of music's most compelling artists. Most recently, he unveiled "California Sober," a collaboration with legendary artist Willie Nelson--his first release since partnering with venerable label, Reprise Records.
The collaboration follows Strings' most recent full-length album, Me/And/Dad, which was released last fall and features Strings alongside with his dad, Terry Barber. The product of a longtime dream, the record features new versions of fourteen bluegrass and country classics that the two have been playing together since Strings was a young child.
Since his 2017 debut, Strings has been awarded Best Bluegrass Album at the 63rd GRAMMY Awards, Artist of the Year at the 2022 and 2023 Americana Music Awards, Entertainer of the Year at the 2021, 2022 and 2023 International Bluegrass Music Awards, Best New Headliner at the 2022 Pollstar Awards, Breakthrough Artist of the Pandemic at the 2021 Pollstar Awards and has performed on the 64th GRAMMY Awards, "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," PBS' "Austin City Limits," "Bluegrass Underground" as well as countless sold-out tour dates world-wide.
Billy Strings is nominated for three awards at the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards: Best Bluegrass Album (Me/And/Dad), Best American Roots Song ("California Sober" feat. Willie Nelson) and Best Country Duo/Group Performance ("High Note" with Dierks Bentley).

Genius musicians, perfect show. Great sound and lights. Friendly staff. Loved every minute- will never forget this show.
Great show, great venue! I hope Billy comes closer to Cape Cod next time, but it was cool to check out a venue I’ve never been to before.
The crowd was very lively. Music was energetic/ guitar/ fiddle and banjo solos were awesome. Can’t beat live performances!!
They don’t get much better than Billy on acoustic guitar. His band is amazing. Love their sound. Could listen to him all day!!
First Billy Strings show and not the last!!! Amazing musicians! Best live show I’ve seen this year🩷
Getting in and out easy. View from many seats not great because it’s an arena designed for watching sports not musical performances. Performers were incredible.
Very nice! Very nice! Very nice! Very nice! Very nice! Very nice! Very nice! Very nice!
Will be there when Billy returns, nothing else to say…….
I was introduced to Billy Springs about eight months ago. So this is my first concert with Billy and it was absolutely awesome.. I will continue to go to his concerts..
First show. Fantastic show. Billy and the band are top notch.Started strong with Wargasm and never let up. Can't wait to see again.
Had a great time at the Billy strings concert at the Rochester war Memorial. In line was not the bus experience however, the line move fairly quickly. I think everyone had a great time. Would’ve been nice to know pricing of merchandise before you got up to the register.
Fantastic musicianship by Strings and the rest of the band. So much talent on one stage.
This was by far one of the best concerts I have ever been to. Was able to find close parking relatively easy. The line going into the show was very quick. The arena itself was totally packed And Billy strings did not disappoint. Great interaction with the crowd.
First time seeing Billy Strings. Heard so much about how good he was. He did not disappoint! He and his band were simply amazing!! Incredible jams, bluegrass, jazz, folk…. You name it, he did it all with incredible talent. I will definitely try to see much more of him in the future. The Blue Cross Arena, however, was terrible in the way they ran the production. Absolutely NO organization or thought put in to entering the venue. Advertised as starting at 7:30 pm. We arrived around 7:10 pm to find a long line wrapped around the building. We then decided to check out what’s happening at the front of the line, to find a massive crowd randomly trying to enter the front doors (the only ones into the venue). No lines. No concert personnel. There were parents with small children getting jammed into the crowd waiting for the mass of people to inch forward to get close. This was truly a trampling situation waiting to happen (with the venue liability on the line). It took 40 minutes to inch forward before getting to the virtual ticket takers who were yelling, rude, and obnoxious. There was no excuse for such behavior. Everyone was calm and polite, except for the employees. And this was after enduring the lengthy, totally unsupervised disaster waiting to happen trying to simply enter the venue. This could have ruined most concert experiences, but, fortunately, Billy Strings was so amazing, the concert itself redeemed the evening. Hence my 5-star rating (for the performance, not the incompetent venue staff).
A truly extraordinary experience delivered. Billy Strings along with the 4 other extremely talented pickers made for one of the best ever concerts I’ve been to (seasoned concert goer here) The venue was a perfect size and somehow with its 12,000 jammin’ fans - seemed intimate. Billy Strings is a must see.
First time seeing Billy Strings live and it did not disappoint! The set list was spot on and Billy and the boys made it seem like Rochester was their favorite stop and delivered the most epic show for us. It was nice to attend a concert at Blue Cross Arena again; they host so few, but should have more! It's the perfect size (not too big, not too small) - it was a great backdrop for the awesome light show and held a good sized crowd while still feeling intimate.
BMFS did not disappoint! Husband and I went for the first time in Rochester and the talent in unreal, lights were amazing too.
Billy Strings is a great player…a real phenom (would be better without the hat, though. Couldn’t see his face). But the crowd…Seems like everyone stands all the time at shows, weaving around, waving arms…and smoking (!). Clueless and rude. We prefer - and pay for - seats. If you want to stand, go to the floor where everyone is standing anyway. Concerts are sooo pricey these days (this one was cheap, only $80) that it’s easy to be annoyed if others are disrupting the experience. If you have to stand, be quick and sit back down. And please, smoke - whatever it is you’re smoking - outside. It’s not the 60s anymore.
We had great seats for an awesome concert, but the couple immediately in front of us refused to sit down for even 1 song, so we could not fully enjoy the show. The people behind us did not want to stand for the entire show, so we were not rude enough to block their view. If you want to stand - buy Pit area tickets!!! I understand if you want to dance to a favorite song or 2, but this couple did it just to anger the people around them.
