About

Raised in Michigan and now based in Nashville, GRAMMY Award-winning Billy Strings is known as one of music's most compelling artists. Most recently, he unveiled "California Sober," a collaboration with legendary artist Willie Nelson--his first release since partnering with venerable label, Reprise Records.

The collaboration follows Strings' most recent full-length album, Me/And/Dad, which was released last fall and features Strings alongside with his dad, Terry Barber. The product of a longtime dream, the record features new versions of fourteen bluegrass and country classics that the two have been playing together since Strings was a young child.

Since his 2017 debut, Strings has been awarded Best Bluegrass Album at the 63rd GRAMMY Awards, Artist of the Year at the 2022 and 2023 Americana Music Awards, Entertainer of the Year at the 2021, 2022 and 2023 International Bluegrass Music Awards, Best New Headliner at the 2022 Pollstar Awards, Breakthrough Artist of the Pandemic at the 2021 Pollstar Awards and has performed on the 64th GRAMMY Awards, "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," PBS' "Austin City Limits," "Bluegrass Underground" as well as countless sold-out tour dates world-wide.

Billy Strings is nominated for three awards at the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards: Best Bluegrass Album (Me/And/Dad), Best American Roots Song ("California Sober" feat. Willie Nelson) and Best Country Duo/Group Performance ("High Note" with Dierks Bentley).

  • Best show I have seen in a long time

by Bob Wright on 11/13/21The Fillmore Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

I saw Billy Strings several years ago at a much smaller venue as the opening act for another band. I knew then that he was destined for greater things. His performance at the Fillmore was wonderful- a great mix of traditional and contemporary tunes and some of his own compositions. These guys are at the top of their game- they deserve all of the accolades they are receiving for this tour.

  • MUST SEE

Jam grass! These guys won a Grammy. Check out their albums. The musicians in this group are so talented. They bring a lot of energy. If you are into the Grateful Dead, infamous string band, widespread panic, doc Watson this band is for you.

  • Amazing…

by Billy E on 11/9/21Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Read the title. This concert was amazing. My Ma who never really listens to bluegrass or “Jams” had the time of her life. We all had so much fun. Billy Strings and his band are masters at their art and only going up. Couldn’t have been better for me.

  • Billy Strings made me like Bluegrass

by Trey J on 11/9/21Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I wasn't a Bluegrass fan till Billy. He's made me a fan for life now. They put on a heck of a show EVERY time.

  • Best concert I’ve ever been to

by Darian on 11/9/21Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

He was amazing. This was the best concert I’ve been to, so lively and happy and never a lull in the night. I’ll definitely be seeing him live again when I can!

  • Billy Strings #BMFS!!

by SweeneyFraud on 11/9/21Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Great concert, great venue! Security was especially good in locating and addressing issues in the crowd as situations started to develop, so that the rest of us were able to fully enjoy what turned out to be one of the best concerts I’ve seen in a very long time. Thanks!

by Francis on 11/9/21Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Billy Strings is the best kept secret in music but not for long!! See him in the small venues while you can. He’s got the hottest band on the road right now.

  • Billy

by Tats420 on 11/9/21Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

The music was great! The sound was horrible and the venue was way over crowded. Too bad, such a great place with terrible sound.

  • Awesome show, improving venue!

by Mega on Tour on 11/9/21Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

What once was my least favorite venue in the Midwest, made a big step in redeeming itself! Even with the vax/negative test requirement the lines moved quickly. The security was a little strict on certain items but thankfully I remembered that before and made accommodations prior. Beer lines were plentiful and quick and the bathroom was better than I remember. Billy Strings A+, Aragon Ballroom A-!

  • Billy Strings

by photobymarisa on 11/8/21Harrah's Cherokee Center - Asheville - AshevilleRating: 5 out of 5

WOW!!! What an amazing performance! We were lucky enough to get to see shows on Friday and Halloween night… we will never miss him coming through our area again! Venue was perfect for these shows, loved general admission with the choice of being on the floor or in a seat. Merchandise and food/drink lines were longer than expected… shouldn’t have to miss so much of the show to get a beer or a snack.

  • Exceptional talent

by Robby on 11/7/21Rating: 5 out of 5

We saw Billy and his band at the Aragon theater in Chicago last night. Even though we were packed in like sardines it was worth every second. That kid knows how to pick. His band is fantastic too. Awesome!!

  • Great show!

by BH on 11/6/21Harrah's Cherokee Center - Asheville - AshevilleRating: 5 out of 5

Amazingly quick entry and exit from the HCC at a sold out show. Lines moved quickly despite COVID vax checks and security checks. Went all three nights and same experience each night. Also lines moved fairly quickly for vendors and even bathrooms. And when shows were over we were outside the building in only a few minutes. Only downside to the HCC is downtown Asheville parking. So HCC gets 5 stars, but plan ahead for parking as that can make for a bad night

  • Great music, Horrible lines

by Brenda on 11/5/21Harrah's Cherokee Center - Asheville - AshevilleRating: 4 out of 5

Waiting in line for over an hour to get wristband in the rain was horrible.. Standing in line for a drink was horrible.. Everything else was great! Staff was wonderful, music and sound great!

  • Absolutely the BEST!!!!

    by AnnieGirl71 on 11/3/21Harrah's Cherokee Center - Asheville - AshevilleRating: 5 out of 5

Words cannot describe how awesome this concert was. We’ve been to a lot of shows & this little venue, nestled in the NC mountains, really brings their A+ game. Billie Strings did not disappoint and blew the roof off the place. Overall- it was a fantastic Halloween 🐐🐐🐐🐐

  • Great music and lights

by Trip on 11/3/21Harrah's Cherokee Center - Asheville - AshevilleRating: 5 out of 5

Great music and lights. This was a first rate production the whole way around. I see why Billy strings can sell out the Civic Center for three nights in a row.
