Good concert, but too many long jams

by CalleyOh on 10/11/09The Concert Hall - New York

Since he has not toured in 15+yrs extensively, I would have liked a bigger song selection, instead of the extended jams on many songs. But, beggars cant be choosers. I was just happy to see him active musically after such a long dormant period.

    Intimate Squier Show!

by neety on 10/11/09The Concert Hall - New York

Last night's Billy Squier concert was great! The Concert Hall is small enough to have everyone right up close. His guitar playing was amazing. You really got to appreciate it last night. His vocals were right on. He and the band seemed to be having a really good time. Weird place to see a show, because it is similar to a church. Definately different. Unfortunately, although the crowd was into it, they were more mellow than on Long Island in the summer. Long Island rocked the house, while the NYC crowd were more chilled out. Overall though, great show, great time. Last show of the tour. Maybe he'll come back before too long. The small venues are so different. They're just awesome.

    Billy was amazing!

by SharynA on 10/11/09The Concert Hall - New York

I was so happy to see Billy touring after almost 20 years! The intimate setting was the best. Felt close to an icon and listened to him play his hits to the crowd - the best way to see a concert. The sound was great. The lighting was fantastic. The band was professional. And Billy was, as always, entertaining and phenomenal.

    Billy Squire

by jimdi on 10/10/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

Billy and band kicked ass!!!!! Playing most everything a true fan would want to hear! Our ears were ringing for days after!! Needed a few more songs from "don't say no" and "creatures of habit" specifically "in the dark" and "hands of seduction" a little less band jams but in all a great time and would gladly pay twice the price to see him again!! Jim And Dianne!!

    wonderful

by Boopdog on 10/7/09Warehouse Live - Houston

Billy Squier was amazing. He put on a long, energetic performance. His voice was just as powerful as it was 20 years ago. He interacted with the crowd and I cherished every moment he was on stage for fear that it would probably be the last time I would be able to see him perform.

by krazeecuda on 10/6/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

This was the fifth time I have seen Billy Squier live in concert and either he keeps getting better or I just am more amazed at how great a performer he is. His concerts are always well done with excellent sound quality. If you want to see a great show with some great music, check out Billy Squier!!!!!

    Fantasy Concert Wish #36 Realized

by Tara007 on 10/6/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

I've wanted to see Billy since the 70's but somehow our paths had never crossed. I snatched up two fantastic seats and took my friend with me. I'm not sure what was going on in DFW that night, but only about 600 people made it to the show. We were all huddled in the orchestra pit and were able to freely walk up to the stage whenever we wanted to. Billy blew my mind. He rocked and rolled and sang his heart out seemingly to forget that the crowd was so small. Be it 500 or 50,000 people, Billy Squire delivers exactly what you expect him to deliver, songs that rock with a raw sexual energy that leaves you turned on for hours after you get home. Thanks Billy. My night with you was absolutely fabulous.

    Amazing and Intimate!

by Kayna on 10/6/09Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

I drove and hour and a half (I live near Santa Monica) to see Billy Squier and experience the Grove of Anaheim for the first time, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. The parking was easy, the entrance was beautiful, the lines for the concession and merchandise stands were relatively short, and the venue was wonderfully intimate! The opening band was in the concession area following their set and I was able to chat and take photos with them! Although I was in the 4th tier I could still see Billy's face pretty well and the fact that he was so close made everything all the better! He's a great performer and rocker and I just couldn't get enough - even though he played for much longer than I expected!!

    Squire in rare form

by ChuckStevens on 10/6/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

Attended the Oct 3rd Billy Squire concert. It had been 28 years since I had seen him open for Foreghner. His opening act "Bright" was aweful. Her band although adequate, was actually better than the singer. Her wardrobe looked like she had nabbed it from the set of an Austin Powers movie. Her Dance moves on stage mostly looked like a 3 year old doing the "PeePee" dance! I was ashamed to find out they were from Dallas. Billy However, saved the evening! His show was simply Billy "Raw"! He explained that this was not going to be a show of just his hits, but of songs from each album over the years that had a personal meaning to him. Great Job Billy! Ditch "Brite" though! Emerald city or Bowling for Soup might have been a better local band choice.

    Squier Still Sounds Great

by Anonymous on 10/5/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

The Billy Squier show was very good. He still sounds great. Although I knew what the set would be I still wish he would have replaced three of the songs few people knew with three others. "In The Dark" was sorely missed. It was my first time at the Nokia. What a great venue!

    Not all the hits

by Pinkiest on 10/5/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

Billy was in fine form, but he didn't play all his hits. Especially for me "In the Dark". There wasn't many people their, but he was gracious enough to play as though it was a full house. I would go again, but he needs more mature musicians, who appreciate that era,and what it means in the book of Rock & Roll. The 2nd guitar player was good, but kept laughing, and rolling his eyes like he was doing Billy a F-n favor. He was pretty full of his self.

    Billy was Rockin !!!

by Billywill on 10/5/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

I didn't know that Billy was such a good guitarist till I saw him live. His lead guitarist was awesome too. They stretched out some of his songs a little long but was a very good rock show. The only drawback was after paying for the tickets they ripped you off for parking_ $15. I thought that was outrageous. I would have parked at Lone Star Park and walked but it was raining that night.

    Most Excellent

by ut1man on 10/5/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

That was the best time I've had in years. Both the music and the vocals were excellent. Not to mention the fact that Squire and the rest were into it and having a good time. Wasn't too crowded either, made it nice.

    Disappointing Show

by Kevindon on 10/5/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

When I go to see someone in concert, I want to hear the songs they way they sound on the original ablum. I do not want to hear overly long versions of the The Stroke or Lonely is the Night. I do not want to hear a keyboard solo. (yes I said keyboard solo).

    Billy Squire was aweful!

by txxrrider on 10/5/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

Probably the worst concert I've ever been too. It was like seeing someone in their garage. His equipment was left over from the 80s...basically no production at all...obviously touring on a shoe-string budget. He didn't play but 3 or 4 of his hits. Wish I could get my hard-earned money back....certainly wasn't worh the $155 bucks for the 3 tickets purchased.

    Squier never disappoints his fans.

by Anonymous on 10/5/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

What can I say. Simply an amazing performace by an amazing and talented musician. Billy played hits from each of his albums. Guitar work was incredible. The crowd was small, I don't think the event was advertised much. Billy did not let the small crowd deter his show. Billy jammed for a little over 2 hours.
