I hadn't seen Billy Squier since the " Creatures Of Habit " tour . He rarely tours anymore , but it didn't show Saturday night in Atlantic City . He was in top form , playing most of the crowd favourites & a few only die hard fans would recognize & enjoy . When you have a long catalog of albums , it's hard to please everyone , but I thought he pulled it off . Everything from the Piper era to Happy Blue was represented . Naturally there was " The Stroke " , " Rock Me Tonite " , " Everybody Wants You " & more that you'd expect , But it was songs like " Strange Fire " & " Calley Oh " that surprised & impressed me .
The band was very tight , the venue was full , the sound system was top notch & Billy played for about an hour & a half . He seemed very relaxed , although there were one or two times he didn't seem to trust his voice to reach for certain certain higher notes , but hey , the guy's in his early 50's & he doesn't do this on a regular basis anymore .
I hope he tours a little more regularly & I'd love a new album .
