Billy Gardell works hard. He has no choice. He's from Pittsburgh. Hard work is the honor code in Pittsburgh, and Gardell lives by it.
And now all this hard work is paying off for Billy, he is the star of the new CBS hit comedy MIKE & MOLLY (Mondays at 9:30PM) where he plays Officer Mike Biggs. And on February 5, 2011, he stars in his own one hour stand-up Comedy Central special - BILLY GARDELL: HALFTIME. A DVD of the special will be released on February 8th.
Billy isn't your average Hollywood success story. No GQ genetics, no family in the business, no coattails to ride. He took the long road to get here, stopping at every small town honky-tonk, military base, and comedy club along the way. Anywhere he could find a live audience.
Billy started early in stand up and got good fast; headlining some clubs before he was legal at the door. But that didn't stop him from being as big a hit at the bar as he was on stage. After all, the kid was living his dream and following in the footsteps of his idol, Jackie Gleason.
As every comic quickly learns when they arrive in L.A., all those years of toiling in the clubs to become a great comic don't mean a thing in Hollywood. You start working your way up all over again. But before long, Billy have built quite impressive acting resume for himself with regular guest appearances on My Name is Earl, The Practice, Yes Dear, Monk, Judging Amy, Desperate Housewives as well as a co-starring role in the critically acclaimed FX series Lucky. On the big screen, Billy made his film debut alongside Anthony Quinn and Sylvester Stallone in Avenging Angelo and afterwards scored a rather memorable scene with Billy Bob Thornton in the Cohen Brother's Bad Santa.
Billy's dedication to acting, along with continuing to tour as a stand up, have allowed him to grow consistently stronger in both arenas. His stand up show is a powerhouse. His grounded, down-to-earth point of view hits a strong chord with American audiences. Stories about his rough childhood, wild adolescence, and new family life are executed with the skill of a master craftsman.
In his spare time, Billy enjoys spending time with his son and following the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The show was great my husband and I did not stop laughing through out the entire show.
Loved the show...non-stop laughs. Billy is great!!!
Great show. Opening act of Al Ernest was as good as main Billy Gardel show. Both incredibly funny. Nice to have comedians that don't require every other word to be profane.
Billy is AWESOME! I would go anywhere, anytime to see him. If he comes to a venue near you do NOT miss him! If you love Mike & Molly, you will LOVE this show. As a special treat, Katy Mixon (Victoria) was in the audience!!!!! She is GORGEOUS and just as cute and sweet as she is on the show. She stayed FOREVER taking pictures with everyone who asked her!! Do NOT miss Billy!!!!!!!
Excellent show. I've seen many comedians and Billy was by far one of the funniest around. Highly recommend his show.
Opening act was great. Theatre was nice. Billy was billy and did his job.
Great show! Opening act was also great. Not a whole lot of bad language, which is a plus.
I loved the show! I think Billy is very funny down to earth guy!
Very funny show. Laughed thru it all. Worth the money.

I figured he was funny, but not THAT funny! Great show!
Billy Gardell was exceptional, i would highly recommend to anyone to see!
Billy was very funny, I wish his show had a little more material and was a little longer. He was on stage about 60 minutes.
He really is funny, and he is also a real guy. Totally recommend!
We were thrilled to get to see Billy Gardell for our 27th wedding anniversary. We drove from Orlando to Hollywood Florida, just to get to see him. I have now seen Billy perform live three times, and he was hysterical as usual. The man sitting next to me, not my husband, the other side, was laughing so hard he kept falling off his chair. The woman behind us laughed so hard I thought she was going to pass out. Seeing Billy perform is having laughter infuse your being. You cannot help but laugh as his comedy is situations we all find ourselves in. Just everyday stuff made incredibly funny by his genius. We love you Billy!!!!!!!
Billy Gardell is a very good performer and actor. I love him. His performance was very disappointed because of a lack of new material. He used the same exact jokes from previous years even the punch lines. I think that the best comedians always renew their material to keep the loyalty of the fans. I will not see his performance again, unless he brings new material.
He was hysterical! Enjoyed his show very much, and would go again! The opener was good too! Amazing 5 stars
Billy Gardell was amazing... his ability to interact with an audience of any size is truly remarkable. While I have seen him on television performing his comedy act, this was my first chance to see him live... I will see him again!!! I took my brother and his fiancee as an engagement gift and neither had really heard of Billy before, we watched an episode of Mike and Molly on Monday evening and I made mention of him being a fellow Pittsburgher. Fiancee hooked, my brother just loves comedy, so I purchased these tickets as a surprise for them. Friday night they thought we were going to the Marlins game... well you have never seen two happier people when I pulled into the Hard Rock and let them know that no Marlins game tonight... and then finding out it was Billy, well let's just say I have been the best brother for a long time, but have now made the ranks of best brother -in-law ever!!! Thanks Billy and Hard Rock for a great evening!!!
He was funny the entire show, we laughed until we cried. Great show, class act Mr. Gardell.
