    One of the best!

by RJCBJ on 5/27/15Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook Terrace

I have seen Billy Elliot about 5 years ago and loved it! After Les Mis and Book of Mormons, this is my 3rd favorite musical of all time. Drury Lane's production is absolutely awesome, comparable with the Chicago production I saw a few years back. The Drury cast was great. Billy was exceptional, so was the Dad. The grandma was great too. I have listened to Grandma's song many times, but I never felt that much sadness when she sang it. I loved Michael too! That kid is a natural actor. Great comic timing. Of course, the reading of Mum's letter was heartbreaking. There was sobbing all around!

Billy Elliot was all we hoped for and more!

by LoveSuburbanTheater on 5/25/15Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook Terrace

My mother and I attended both the dinner and the show. Everything was fabulous and a great value. The dinner was delicious and the show was first rate. The boy who played Billy was just fantastic and the rest of the cast were excellent as well. Not a bad seat in the house and no traffic or parking fee. Certainly more convenient than downtown and still excellent quality. We will definitely be doing this again!

    Billy Elliot Meets Expectations

by Tredici on 5/20/15Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook Terrace

The Drury Lane Theater has a dinner option in addition to the show. The selection of an entree was easy as there were adequate choices. The dinner was good and the service excellent. I was a fan of the Billy Elliot movie and have always had an interest in seeing the show. A trip to Chicago coincided with the production at the Drury Theater so we signed up. We were not dissapointed. The cast was exceptional and the performance highly enjoyable. I would recommend this experience without reservation.

Excellent production values in feel-good musical

by KFtW on 5/19/15Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook Terrace

I drive three hours one way to Drury Lane, so my investment in a day at the theater is more than just the price of a ticket. However, I can honestly say that I got more than my money's worth with the production of BILLY ELLIOT. I want to give particular credit to the dialog coach. The dialects in BILLY ELLIOTT were totally believable AND totally understandable. Nicholas Dante (Billy) is an extremely talented and advanced dancer despite his young age, but Michael Harp (as Billy's cross-dressing friend) steals the show.

    Exceptionally good

by fkrauss on 5/18/15Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook Terrace

Having seen the touring version (twice) in Chicago, I would say that this production not only stands up well, but even exceeds the original. The cast is excellent. The role of Billy Elliot demands a continuing presence on the stage complete with complex and energetic dance sequences.

    Other worldly

by stets on 5/17/15Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook Terrace

The finest production and interpretation of this fantastic musical presented, and you can find it all on the Drury Lane's stage from now until June 7th. On this day the role of Billy was played by Kyle Hanford who provided the audience with another sterling performance in perfect line with all his previous presentations. The supporting cast is above first rate, notwithstanding, the music, lighting, and most of all the dancing, will delight all parents and youngster who see this musical. And, in fact, all parents and children should see Billy Elliot, given it is a story of courage and determination to pursue one's artistic nature despite communal pressures to do otherwise. In Kyle Hanford you will find a performance of stamina unlike any role known to a young man of his age. He commands the stage and he demands your attention through his Iconic acting and dancing, literally, never letting go. He is the heart of the production and worth all time and money to see perform.

    Great Show, Unnecessary language.

by JBVM on 5/14/15Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook Terrace

The show is very well done. The young man playing Billy at our show was excellent. Please note, this is NOT a family friendly version. The cursing is probably 75% more than necessary for the story. My 10 year old learned several new words. But that is just a parents opinion

by Hookey222 on 5/13/15Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook Terrace

I saw Billy on Broadway, in Chicago and now 2 times at DL.. I laughed and cried and came out of the theatre with a feeling of joy. This production is not only one of the best that I have seen at Drury Lane, but also compares favorably with the Broadway production. I loved it and I loved Kyle.

by mdcallo on 5/12/15Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook Terrace

I am not an easy person to please when it comes to entertainment and I have a difficult time sitting still for long, but this production was by far, the most entertaining I have ever experienced. Not only were the main actors phenomenal, but everyone on the stage was awesome. Billy Elliot is a great story with great actors and music. Can't be beat!

    Enjoyed every minute

by LongtimeWSSFan on 5/12/15Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook Terrace

Drury Lane has really surpassed itself with this production of Billy Elliot. My wife and I saw Billy Elliot twice when it came downtown a few years back, figuring that we'd never see another production in our lifetime - seriously, what theater would be able to find and then invest in training two young kids for several months to sing, dance and act. So when we saw that it was being produced at Drury Lane, we were surprised. But the big surprise was actually seeing the production. It was great. It was different from the national touring production, but the differences were seldom 'less' and often 'better.' And we were especially pleased that the producers had the guts to leave in the swear words, the gay parts, the politics and the Northern English accents. That's all part of the show - the show would have been infinitely diminished to cut those things out.

Wonderful cast - great from beginning to end

by GramDan on 5/11/15Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook Terrace

I brought some of my granddaughters (older teens) and my daughter-in-law. The voices of all of the cast were amazing; some of the best in musical theater. The young actors in the show were so enthusiastic and on-spot it made it more fun for all watching. The staging was done so well for a small stage, it was great to watch what they could do. The main characters showed and told the story so well, the audience was drawn into every scene. Some scenes took our breath away. Thank you for an absolutely memorable show. The standing ovations were well deserved. The light in my granddaughters' eyes and the smiles on their faces due to this wonderful show will be remembered by me for a very long time.
