About

Bible Bingo is a comedy written by Vicki Quade about the Catholic culture of fundraising and bingo, featuring the character, Mrs. Mary Margaret O'Brien, a former nun who now heads a fictitious archdiocese fundraising department.

The Chicago Stage Standard calls the show, “A fresh new twist on bingo.” New City Chicago raves, “the show is filled with Catholic humor.”

The role is shared by four performers: Vicki Quade, Kathleen Puls Andrade, Michelle Renee Thompson, and Cheryl Roy.

In this interactive comedy, the parish needs money and Mrs. O’Brien is ready to help! Bring the two together and you have a night of bible trivia, audience interaction, improvised moments, and the funniest quiz about the Holy Family you’ve ever seen.

Add to that a box of wacky prizes, fun bingo cards, and a lot of Catholic humor. In this interactive bingo show, you’ll actually play bingo, and still learn a little something about what it means to be Catholic! The show gets the audience talking about everything from Adam & Eve to modern sins.

You’ll be laughing so hard, you’ll have to be careful watching your bingo cards!

“Bible Bingo is a really good show,” says Theatre by Numbers.  “A number of people get together to have some munchies and drinks.  They play a few rounds of Bingo while they laugh, sing, chat, and goof around.  It is a beautiful thing.”

Go ahead…. resurrect your social life in this guaranteed night of divine entertainment!
More fun than Sodom and Gomorrah!!
So much fun, you’ll have to confess it!!!

    Hilarious!

I went to the May 17 show with a group of friends, and we all agreed it was absolutely hilarious. The red headed "Mrs. O'Brien" instantly formed a connection with the audience, and kept them engaged and laughing throughout the entire play. There was a good size crowd in the theater, and the actress easily used her improv and comedic acting skills to bring the audience together and make us feel as though we were really attending a bingo game with friends and family. Throughout the performance I was wiping tears from my eyes from laughing so hard, and saw many others in the audience doing the same. The prizes were fun too (including an original David Cassidy album). My friends and I left the show feeling we really got something for our money. I would highly recommend this play for a fun Saturday night outing!

    Awesome Mrs. O'Brien Performance!!

by Moonstruck88 on 5/21/14Royal George Theater - Chicago

I attended the May 17, 2014 Bible Bingo Act of Charity show and it was amazingly funny and entertaining. I can't say enough about the improvising talent of the actress who portrayed the Bingo Leader Mrs. O'Brien, she was incredibly witty and funny and had the entire audience rolling! There was never a dull moment at all throughout the performance. My family who was visiting from out of town had a great time! We all recommend this show to everyone. You will not be disappointed and you will leave with your stomach aching from all the laughter and perhaps even win some fabulous bingo prizes too!

    Bible Bingo

by amtheater123 on 5/20/14Royal George Theatre - Chicago

I found this 'event' to be very disappointing. The actress was just not funny, and seemed to not be very skilled at improv , which is the most important element of the show. Paying for tickets, paying for parking, and driving into the city, just to play a couple rounds of bingo to win silly prizes was not worth it at all. The improv was so bad you found yourself laughing uncomfortably just to not make the actress feel bad, but there was alot of 'cricket' moments. I had seen Late Night Catechism and thought it was hysterical and thought getting tickets to see Bible Bingo while my in laws were in was a good idea. I would forgoe this show and see the original Late NIght if you're going to see any of that string of shows.

It was truly hilarious! We took our moms to this for Mothers Day. They are all Catholic, and went to Catholic schools. They were in tears from laughing so hard. You laugh the entire time. Great, great show.

    Sublime performance.

by ChiCubby on 4/10/14Royal George Theatre - Chicago

Although there was a more intimate audience than I expected, it was not at all noticeable with Sister Toussaint at the helm. She captured mine and the audience's attention, and ran a tight and efficient ship. I do wish I won those polka LPs. She was engaging and an overall lovely lady, on the stage and post-show. Overpriced drinks, however, so drink elsewhere or go to Balena next door.

    Bible Bingo Bomb

by stopandread on 4/7/14Royal George Theatre - Chicago

This was awful! There was only one actor and she couldn't remember her lines. we actually had to play multiple games of bingo. Only ten people showed up to fill the seats. Save your money and save your strength, avoid this monstrosity.

My husband, mother-in-law & I went! We haven't laughed this hard at a performance in a long time! Really unique performance! It was a great way to spend a couple of hours. A few nice restaurants down the block --- fun way to spend an afternoon or evening!

by JohnTheBaptist on 11/19/13Royal George Theatre - Chicago

Bible Bingo was very engaging as well as educational. The interweaving of facts with current events/entertainment was hilarious. The crowd interaction was entertaining. Overall, a great night out. It was also great to see how they have donated over $2m in post event donations to the retired nuns in the area.
