About

BETTER THAN EZRA IN CONCERT:

New Orleans' hometown heroes Better Than Ezra dominated '90s airwaves with a string of ubiquitous, fuzzed-out alt-rock hits like "Good" and "Desperately Wanting." The band's poppy, sing-along anthems came to define the sound of a generation, making each live show something of a reunion for their devoted fans. The elation was palpable at their 2013 shows, and with a new album due out in summer 2014, Better than Ezra will be delivering bigger than ever on their 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed by four Louisiana State University students in the late '80s, Better Than Ezra cut its teeth performing at fraternities and house parties before going on to generate buzz with their cassette-only demos. After self-releasing 1993's Deluxe, the band landed a deal with Elektra Records, who reissued the album in 1995. The record was an overnight sensation upon its re-release, spawning hits like "Good" and "Rosealia" and going on to achieve platinum certification from the RIAA. Five more albums of infectious alt-rock would follow, setting the stage for a highly anticipated new album in 2014.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Great show! Ezra never disappoints! They are amazingly talented and have fun performing so that makes it so great!"

"Great show! Perfect blend of old and new, humor and covers...crowd ranged from early 20s to 50s and all seemed to have a great time!"

"BTE does such a fantastic job of providing a unique show... They always have new musicians backing up or guests who make each show unforgettable in its own way."

    Awesome but oversold

by Mellie on 5/8/23House of Blues New Orleans - New Orleans

BTE is one of my favorite bands of all time. They were absolutely lovely, but it was hard to ignore that the number of people in the space seemed unsafe. Either it was oversold, or HoB needs to update their max capacity.

Better Than Ezra always delivers! Also, the House of Blues is a great venue to see them! Hope they keep playing Jazz Fest.

    New Arena

by MellonCollie on 4/23/23BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove - Southaven

The bands who performed were top notch! I understand this was the first show for this venue in several years, and they still have some kinks to work out. I purchased front row tickets, with the understanding that there was no pit in front of me. The workers did not check tickets, and allowed a large crowd who came down from all areas of the venue to accumulate in front of the stage. I attend dozens of concerts a year and have never been somewhere with a ticketed front row (meaning there is no pit) that this has happened. Hopefully they better train their staff during future events because what is the point of buying those tickets if someone who got a ticket in the very back can come stand in front of you the whole time?

    Great show!

by Mark B on 4/23/23BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove - Southaven

Just knows how to have fun with the crowd! A lot of pause in a song to ad lib funny lyrics. Covered some other popular songs, even Elton John. Had a blast.

    Always amazing and worth it!

by Stacy on 11/13/22House of Blues Houston - Houston

This was the final show of their Legends of the Fall tour and it did not disappoint. The band is always top notch as performers, high energy, funny, a great mix of old songs, new songs and covers to keep things interesting. The sound was awesome and the overall experience was great, although the Houston crowd left a little room for improvement (watching one guy get pushy/physical with his wife when he didnt get his way with some people, myself included). It was a super fun night and if you're looking for a good night out, definitely go see Better Than Ezra. You'll be smiling the whole night and then some!

    Incredible as always

    by T. V. on 11/9/22The Queen - Wilmington

The guys were all dressed in skeleton outfits for Halloween. This is about the 7th time or so that I saw them and they remain one of my favorite bands to see live (love the albums as well). Keep on rocking! See you again!

    Great Show, Not Sound

by RJB on 11/7/22L'Auberge Casino & Hotel Baton Rouge - Baton Rouge

BTE put on a great show as always and we had a great time. However, the sound could have been much better for them. Overall it was extremely loud in the midrange frequencies. Drums (and keys at times) were way too loud as well. I used to run sound and in my opinion the sound for the opening act (Bones Owens) was SOOOO much better!

    Grass.

by Jamal Jackson on 11/7/22L'Auberge Casino & Hotel Baton Rouge - Baton Rouge

It was a great show. I wish we would have known that the concert was in a field with no seats. This was a date night for my wife and I and we were not dressed for a festival style concert. The tickets had row and seat numbers so nothing led me to believe that this was an outdoor show. Because of this we were not able to stay as long as we would have liked to. Again the show was great and we would go again but would like to know what to expect venue wise.

They were better than the Ezra of the 90s

by Gilbilly on 11/5/22Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

This band has actually improved on sound quality, energy and even humor. Who says getting old sucks. They were great. Not exactly a spectacle of pyros and video screens but still very fun. Never hurts to have one video screen in the back even if it's just random stuff of nostalgia for just 1 or 2 songs. But overall a four star and worth the ticket price.

    Better Than EVER!!!

by Laura on 11/5/22Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

I have been following BTE for many, many years. I love their music and their vibe. But this show at The Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta, Wednesday night November 2nd. was truly one of my top 15 concerts I have seen in my life and I have seen A LOT!!! I know I have never enjoyed these guys more. And again, I have seen BTE several times over the many years. They were not only so very tight and in sync, they were entertaining. The show was so very good and Kevin and the boys rocked it. Engaging and funny and so into Atlanta and the crowd. They appreciated the crowd and the tickets were so very reasonable price wise. Our seats were great. The drinks were cold and the crowd was in to it so much!!! It just was a great show and EVERYONE, if you get the chance, go and see these guys. They really are one of a kind and I LOVED IT!!! Can't wait for the new music to drop and hopefully they will get back out on the road to promote it and PLEASE come back to Atlanta!!! I will have my seat!!!!

Like being transported back in time, they are AGELESS

by Jed on 11/2/22The Queen - Wilmington

Quality of sound was terrific. Lead singer is a real showman. Great apparent chemistry. Fun. Great guitar rifts. Crisp voice. Gorgeous unique venue. Just a wonderful overall experience. Double wrist bands and having to give my name a bit odd, but so what.
