Beres is one of a kind

by LilyB on 7/6/09James L Knight Center - Miami

Beres is a spectacular performer. I can watch him one thousand times and still be impressed. I was so amazed and ecstatic every time I saw him run across the stage. He made my night when he sang, "No Disturb Sign". I was very please and elated with his performance. And by the look on my husbands’ face, I know he felt the same as I did.

A moment in Time was an understatement

    by Shelly36 on 7/6/09James L Knight Center - Miami

This event was the best show I have seen in a long while. Beres for being in the music business for 48 years, he was amazing, his showmanship was impeccable, Maxi Priest was great as well. Culture son did his dad proud. Thank you to all who made this event possible, any other states he is touring not to be missed. A delightful treat. As Beres would say we have a groovy little thing going.

by Buddha on 7/5/09James L Knight Center - Miami

The show was amazing. This is the first time I saw the group culture perform. They did a wonderful job. However, Beres Hammond's performance took the cake. He delivered as usual. it was truly the performance of a lifetime!!!

    Beres Hammond 07/04

by TriGirl on 7/5/09The Ritz Theater - Ybor City

Originally I wasn't going to this show since it was the 4th,(I have tickets for tonight in Orlando) and had planned to set off fireworks with my nieces. However, in FL, you can get fireworks all the time but Beres doesn't come around that much! The great thing about Beres is the energy that he brings, he has this presence that is almost yogi like. The show seemed like it went by really fast, but it was great!!! If you have the chance go see Beres, good times.

Beres Hammond & Friends so Awesome!!!

by Griddy on 7/5/09James L Knight Center - Miami

Concert was awesome! This was the first time I have ever been to a concert and I am 43 yrs old! I listen to a Beres Hammond CD in my car everyday, so when I heard that he was coming to Miami, I jumped on purchasing tickets. I am so glad I did! Eventhough the venue was so massive, Beres made it intimate. As I observe the audience, everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves! Beres's voice was flawless! So many hits! What a night! It was well worth it! This was a great experience, being my first concert!

    Wanted more of Beres Hammond

by YeamonTX on 7/5/09James L Knight Center - Miami

Beres was phenomenal, but wish he would have come out sooner and sang longer. There were about 5 or 6 opening acts. Concert starts at 7:30, Beres didn't come out until 2 1/2 hours later. Felt cheated on Beres. My suggestion would be to keep the opening acts to one or two performers only. Felt I paid for Beres, but saw others more than him. Other than that, I have no compliants. Never can get enough of Beres Hammond. Great show!!

    Beres Hammond delivers

by breadfruitluva on 7/5/09James L Knight Center - Miami

Sure got our monies worth. Sugar was a surprise pleasure and caused some drama playing past his alotted time.... but it was worth it as he was great. Beres played long and hard doing all the big tunes. Great show, great venue, 0 to valet is greedy though.

    Beres - Out Did Himself

by Colspol on 7/5/09James L Knight Center - Miami

Though the highlight of this event is Beres Hammond, the other artist held their own. It was especially pleasing to see Lenya perform because I watched her during "Rising Star" and she was my favorite. She was splendiferous. The Harmony House singers did extremely well also. Culture also caught my attention in a positive way. All in all Beres Hammond & Friends was a great concert. As I said before, the highlight of the evening was Mr. Beresford Hammond. Beres performed as I have never seen him perform before, captivating his audience with every breath taken and every song sung. It was an awesome experience and money very well spent. I highly recommend attending this event if it comes to a town near you!

Wanted More Beres and less "Friends"

by BusyMom on 7/4/09James L Knight Center - Miami

Beres took too long to get on stage. We were hoping for an event that started at 730 it would be over by midnight or so. Since we had to get a babysitter, we did not have the luxury of staying out all night. By the time Beres got on stage, we had to leave 30-40 minutes later to get home. We live an hour away and had to get home by 1am. Even though we expected it to start late (since most Jamaican/Caribbean events never start on time), there were too many acts prior to Beres. By the last two acts, the entire audience, not just us, looked bored and they just wanted Beres to get on stage. I don't even remember them clapping when the last act got on and off stage. Either make the warm up acts much better or get the main act on stage faster, preferably the latter.

Beres Hamond and Moment in Time

    by patrick3005 on 7/4/09James L Knight Center - Miami

There was a little problem with Sugar Minot, but setting that incident apart, it was exceptional. The Harmony singers were outstanding. Sugar Minot brought us back to the good old days. Overall a very good performance.

A Moment in Time Beres Hammond

by Niel on 7/4/09James L Knight Center - Miami

To begin the event started late, we had to wait in the lobby area for them to begin letting people in (shouldn't this have been already taken care of). Once inside the person in charge of viewing tickets didn't have a clear concept of which isles were which and even worst which seats were which, plus seats were missing from some rows. Once the show finally began the second act (Suga Suga Minott) decided he didn't want to perform the number of instructed songs, he kept instructing his band to play on even after his cue from the concerts directors as if it were he himself that was headlining the show. I guess like he said he was making a come back, but like everyone there I paid monies to see Beres Hammond so I was a bit dissapointed that someone could have such disregard for authority. After he left the stage you could still hear him on the microphone (which he walked off with) arguing with the persons behind the stage area. Overall I enjoyed Bere's performance but I would not recommend this tour to anyone.

IT WAS OK OVERALL , BERES HAMMOND WAS AMAZING , I DID NOT LIKE THE PART WHEN THEY HAD TO CHANGE BAND AFTER EACH PROFORMANCE , WE COULD DO WITHOUT SUGAR MINOT HE WAS RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL , PERSONAL I WOULD NOT SUPPORT HIM AT ANY CONCERT HE WOULD BE PROFORMING

Beres was/is one of the ultimate reggae performer!

    by raveen69 on 7/4/09James L Knight Center - Miami

The first acts besides Maxi Priest I could have done without. Show started late and I think Beres was robbed of some precious stage time. He could have gone on for an hour more and the crowd and myself would have loved it. Beres is an amazing Performer. His music has a great positive meaning and his shows always have a great energy. Bring him back but on his own next time!
