Benny the Butcher x BSF gave one of the best hiphop shows this venue has seen in years. True MCs were in the building displaying their art. Super salute to them and the staff at the Filmore. Y’all allowed the culture to flourish with no interruptions and that’s greatly appreciated.

He had like 7ish people open for him but when he finally came on its just as youd expect. A typical rap concert. Not bad but not a performance to write home about.
Mmmhmmmm where to start? I love live shows and have been to plenty of rap concerts, festivals and other types of music events. I went to support my SO since he's a HUGE fan but even he was disappointed. We left 20 minutes into his set AFTER enduring 2 hours of opening acts. We only stayed as long as we did because I INSISTED we do. I didn't want him to regret leaving. I'd say there were 10-15 opening acts. I've never seen anything like it. No one won me over but the DJ was good except when the emcee stalled us out by doing tributes to Pac and Big? My guy, DMX passed THIS year but ok. Anyhoo, I can tolerate Griselda as a collective but this show unfortunately lived up to my (low) expectations. The venue did a good job of being organized with Covid checks, security and ticket entry. Drinks were strong. Wings at VBGB were great before the show.
So, the positives: the Tabernacle is a beautiful venue, and Benny the Butcher is a talented artist. However. There were SO many openers that by the time Benny actually took the stage, I was exhausted. The sound and performance quality were very low across the board (at one point, the backdrop screen was just a desktop background, and we got to watch them mess with display settings as the performance was happening.) There were a couple openers that I liked, but I have no idea what their names were. I understand wanting to showcase the label's talent, but you have to rein in the number of performers at one show and make sure that everyone is actually putting on a GOOD show. Even when Benny was finally on stage, he only performed one or two songs before bringing even MORE people on stage!
Enjoyed every minute of it! NY Hip Hop is back in full and total effect! Salute to Benny The Butcher and Fam for doin their thing in ATL. If you love authentic Hip Hop then #BennyTheButher #BSF #GriseldaRecords is a no brainer
Seems like 10 opening acts and when Benny finally came out he did two song and thing BSF took over for like an hour. I expected to Benny perform more.
Benny smoked the entire show and let a bunch of younger artists I’ve never heard of perform songs I’ve never heard between the hand full of songs of his own that he did. I get putting your people on but the music wasn’t good and no one knew the songs. Like people paid to see Benny do a set. His stage presence was solid when he performed but then he’d duck to the DJ booth and smoke while some random guys did their thing. I enjoyed 38 Spesh performance and honeslty the tickets weren’t expensive so it’s like you get what you pay for. If you come to Atlanta though why not give it your all? His music is great but the concert and his performance was pretty poor.
I was very impressed by this venue. I had ever been here before. I was glad they required Vaccine cards or negative tests. I really appreciated that they let me take in a small bag with my vinyl sleeves to have signed by the artist at the Meet n Greet after the show. We didn't use the concessions because we don't drink alcohol and if we left our spot on the floor we would have never got it back. Staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. I would definitely visit this venue again.

Show started at 9pm about 20 opening acts later and he came out @ 11:30 to perform for about 30-45 min if that only thing that made up for it was He brought out Sheek Louch

Great performance by BENNY & SMOKE DZA but I was disappointed in the venues alcohol selection. Getting through security was rather quick however the security team made it a point to not allow any tobacco products or lighters I had to toss my rather rare and expensive lighter in a box it wouldn’t have bothered me so much but when I walk thru the door they’re selling LIGHTERS!!! Other than that the show was great!
I had a great time at show. Awesome performance by Benny The Butcher. The staff at The Howard Theater were excellent.
