About

benches is a Southern California band consisting of Anson Kelley (vocals/guitar), Ethan Bowers (drums), Evan Ojeda (lead guitar), and Charlie Baird (bass). The band took on many forms in the past, but officially solidified its lineup as of January 2022.

The band has an obsession with defining the sound of bittersweet; a blend of happy and sad, wrapped up into infectiously catchy indie rock. benches is a band born of naivete, the excitement and worries that come with being young.  They have played with notable acts such as Foster The People, Dave Keuning (The Killers) and Louis XIV, and previously toured the US with Ultra Q, I Don’t Know How But They Found Me and The Red Pears.

    I Could’ve Gone:((

by Ally on 9/17/23Echoplex - Los Angeles

I love this band so much and I’m sure they were great, unfortunately I was unable to go because I had friends who canceled very last minute. I’m hoping that when they’re back in LA I’ll be able to see them.

If The Strokes continued with Is This It

by Charles on 4/9/23Constellation Room - Santa Ana

Great band with influences from the strokes and that scene of alternative rock. The crowd had a great vibe for most of the night.

    A Day to Remember!

by Isabella P. on 8/3/22Constellation Room - Santa Ana

All the bands played so great, they all had nice communication with the audience (“how are you?” Etc) The band was so friendly and nice, not intimidating at all, which really helped calm my nerves when meeting them lol. I would definitely see them play again.
