Ben Platt is an Emmy, Grammy and Tony Award-winning actor, singer, songwriter and producer. The Los Angeles native began acting at an early age and earned several stage credits before his breakout film role in the 2012 musical comedy Pitch Perfect. After starring in the 2014 Broadway run of The Book of Mormon, Platt took the lead role in Dear Evan Hansen, a high school-set musical drama that debuted on Broadway in 2016. The production collected six Tonys, including Platt for Best Leading Actor in a Musical, and he was later awarded a Grammy and Daytime Emmy as a member of the cast. Meanwhile, the Hansen and Hamilton mash-up charity single “Found/Tonight” with Lin-Manuel Miranda became Platt’s first Billboard Hot 100 single in 2018. Ben Platt’s debut solo album Sing to Me Instead arrived in 2019, followed by his second full-length Reverie in 2021. Platt earned his second leading actor Tony nomination for the 2023 Broadway revival of Parade. In 2024, he is set to release his third album, Honeymind.

I knew that because I know how incredibly talented Ben Platt is. I wasn't quite expecting the level of flawlessness and perfection that we received from him that opening night. He did not falter on one note. The control in his voice is unlike anything I've ever seen from another human being. He was having so much fun up on that stage. Even when he forgot to initially introduce his drummer during the backup musician introductions, he managed to correct himself in a very endearing manner. It was such an honor to be with him on the opening night of his very first tour! You could really feel the love in the room both from him to us and us to him. If you have the chance to see him live, DO NOT pass it up! PS. His cover of Brandi Carlile's "The Joke" will BLOW YOUR MIND.

We got to experience the talents of Ben and his wonderfully talented band and we also got to learn more about Ben and his songs. Wouldn't trade that evening for the world. Thanks Ben!

We loved it so much we got online and bought tickets for the next night in Detroit and made another road trip from Chicago to Detroit! Love you Ben!
