Bell Biv DeVoe on Tour

Since their days as members of the groundbreaking boy band New Edition, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe have known how to command an audience with soulful harmonies and fierce moves. As Bell Biv DeVoe, the trio specializes in what they call "hip-hop, smoothed out on the R&B tip with a pop feel (appeal) to it," and they bring that concept to the stage during their high-energy shows.

Bell Biv DeVoe in Concert

In the '80s, childhood friends Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe exploded out of Roxbury, Massachusetts, as part of New Edition, the boy band that laid down the template for later acts like New Kids on the Block, the Backstreet Boys and One Direction. When New Edition went on hiatus in 1990, new jack swing pioneers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who had worked with the group on hits like "If It Isn't Love," encouraged the three to splinter off and form their own act. Bell Biv DeVoe's first album, 1990's slick yet hard-edged Poison, was a smash, spawning videos that ruled MTV and singles that topped the United States' R&B charts. In 1993 they released their second album, Hootie Mack, which featured the Boogie Down Productions–sampling "Above the Rim" and the sultry slow jam "Something in Your Eyes." The trio took a break from releasing music until 2001, when they released BBD, which leaned into West Coast hip-hop influences while still showcasing the group's sensitive side on songs like "I Ain't Going Nowhere." In the years that followed, Bell, Bivins and DeVoe toured as part of New Edition's reunion tours, performing Bell Biv DeVoe sets as part of the show. 2017's Three Stripes, BBD's fourth album, showed off the trio's grown and sexy side as well as its appreciation of modern R&B trends.

    Room for Improvement

by Dee on 11/8/22The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman - Woodlands

The concert was very nice. The restrooms were extremely clean and constantly monitored. All entertainers were excellent except for BBD, the main attraction. All entertainers had a live band except for BBD. I can listen to recorded music on my radio. I hate paying for a concert & the music is prerecorded. This is my first time seeing Bev Biv Devoe & I was very disappointed. The dance routines were not as I expected from seeing them on previous television performances. I had planned on seeing them again with New Edition but I’m not sure.

    LEGENDS

by Nisha on 11/8/22The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman - Woodlands

The concert was AMAZING! I grew up on all of these artists’ music, so I was lost in the nostalgia. Everyone looked and sounded so amazing. Terry Ellis said she was dealing with bronchitis, but I couldn’t tell! Everyone brought great energy and performed splendidly. Much love to the artists and everyone involved for a great show!

    BBD was amazing!!!

by Blunt on 11/8/22The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman - Woodlands

This was the best concert I've been to in a long time. I can't believe these guys have been performing for almost 40 years and are still high energy and their voices sound superb.

    Ok experience

by J on 11/8/22The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman - Woodlands

Vert disappointed for Bell Biv Devoe to be the headliner of the concert to have there performance of songs so short. Tony Toni Tone should not be first which many any the crowd agreed that En vogue should have been instead.

Majic Under The Stars was Awesome

by Dovesfly1962 on 11/8/22The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman - Woodlands

Such talented artists on one show, singing all my favorite hits. We had so much fun dancing and singing and just having a great time! We just needed the 3 Tony’s to sing “Lay Your Head On My Pillow” and “Slow Wine”! Still an awesome show!

    Hardly enough

by NewschoolOG on 10/5/22Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino Event Center - Niagara Falls

Gotta be honest. Wasn’t worth the cost. We arrived about 30 minutes late and the show was practically over. They maybe did an hour and had no openers…it was just BBD. I feel bad for those who bought the $200 plus dollar tickets felt like highway robbery. Was very excited to go but ultimately a let down.

    too short!

by rd1023 on 10/4/22Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino Event Center - Niagara Falls

The whole event lasted less than an hour. As a fan of BBD disappointed they didn't play more of their own songs.

    Shortest Concert Ever!

by Kay on 10/3/22Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino Event Center - Niagara Falls

The DJ was a great opener, it was nice to engage the crowd on stage, but to perform for 45 minutes was a disappointment.

    Bell Biv Devoe

by Orniece on 10/3/22Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino Event Center - Niagara Falls

The concert was great! The fellas we’re interactive with the crowd and made us all feel like we were old friends! However, the sound system at Seneca Niagara Casino needs some work! There was loud, ear piercing feedback every time the mics got close to the speakers! 😡

    FORCED

by Chuck-n-Rachel on 10/3/22Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino Event Center - Niagara Falls

We paid $100 a ticket for a hour show, they looked like they were being forced…very disappointed ☹️ Best part was the audience coming up to dance on stage at the end of the show…Grew up on these cats so it was nice to see them for the history books!!!!

It’s was good, but I think it could’ve been longer the money I spent on the tickets. Overall I had a great experience.
