Bell Biv DeVoe on Tour

Since their days as members of the groundbreaking boy band New Edition, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe have known how to command an audience with soulful harmonies and fierce moves. As Bell Biv DeVoe, the trio specializes in what they call "hip-hop, smoothed out on the R&B tip with a pop feel (appeal) to it," and they bring that concept to the stage during their high-energy shows.

Bell Biv DeVoe in Concert

In the '80s, childhood friends Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe exploded out of Roxbury, Massachusetts, as part of New Edition, the boy band that laid down the template for later acts like New Kids on the Block, the Backstreet Boys and One Direction. When New Edition went on hiatus in 1990, new jack swing pioneers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who had worked with the group on hits like "If It Isn't Love," encouraged the three to splinter off and form their own act. Bell Biv DeVoe's first album, 1990's slick yet hard-edged Poison, was a smash, spawning videos that ruled MTV and singles that topped the United States' R&B charts. In 1993 they released their second album, Hootie Mack, which featured the Boogie Down Productions–sampling "Above the Rim" and the sultry slow jam "Something in Your Eyes." The trio took a break from releasing music until 2001, when they released BBD, which leaned into West Coast hip-hop influences while still showcasing the group's sensitive side on songs like "I Ain't Going Nowhere." In the years that followed, Bell, Bivins and DeVoe toured as part of New Edition's reunion tours, performing Bell Biv DeVoe sets as part of the show. 2017's Three Stripes, BBD's fourth album, showed off the trio's grown and sexy side as well as its appreciation of modern R&B trends.

    BBD Never Disappoints

High energy! Classic hit after hit, including some of their New Edition songs! Crowd participation and engagement! It's like a time warp to 1990 for an hour and a half! ❤️

    Perfect evening

by SKA on 1/31/23Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

What a fun concert & venue. The sound was fantastic. I highly recommend for future events! PS don’t bother having a meal at the EQU during events. There’s not enough staffing to get good service. They’re tired and over-worked.

Haven't been there since the remodel. Looks great, but they don't have enough parking when they have large events

    BBD at the EQC

by Andrea on 1/30/23Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

It was fun night. Loved how they brought a little bit of NE days into the performance. I think they were only on stage an hour and for cost of tickets I wished they did little more. Didn’t help that I didn’t win at slots/tables. 🤣 ❤️🎶

    Wonderful, Exciting

by Ducky on 1/30/23Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

Bell Biv Devoe show was the first I seen them in concert. I took my Neice to see them because when she 2 years old I played the song “Poison” for her while riding in the car. She started rocking and moving in her car seat. She is now 34 years old, birthday was on January 25th. She was so excited when they did Poison she started crying with joy. They were great. The only hiccup I have is that the concert was little too short. Thanks for bringing them to EQC.

    Great concert

    by V. O. on 1/30/23Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

The opening DJ was great and I kind of wish it lasted longer. Although BBD's performance was great, it just seemed like it was a short performance under an hour. However, I would see them again!

    A Night of Nostalgia

by Ms. Dee on 1/30/23Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

The concert was definitely a great vibe! Bell Biv DeVoe sounded great. Wasn't too crowded and enough room to move around without bumping into people. Overall nice concert, great venue!

    Great performance!!!

by Cherrybomb on 1/30/23Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

The show was hype, interactive & definitely kept us on our feet. Although it was too short and I think there could have been a pre-act or a little more pre-funk prior to BBD coming out

    Disappointed

by CL on 1/30/23Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

We were expecting at least an hour show, but BBD performed for approximately 40 minutes. That was a huge let down because we were really looking forward to seeing them perform. It feels like the DJ played music longer than they performed. The amount of money that we paid for the tickets was not worth it.

    BBD what's that about

by Still a fan on 1/30/23Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

For the price of admission, the show was a dude. From start to end 46min to include the warmup by the DJ. Time and money wasted

    concert was great

by williamsal2 on 11/10/22The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman - Woodlands

nothing to complain about as far as the concert goes. but next time i will print out the tickets and bring them to the gate. we missed the fist 30 minutes of the concert trying to pull up the ticket on our phones. myself and about 10 other cutomers. evidentally, they mustve blocked the signal and you had to walk 2 blocks down the street to get a signal then walk back to the entrance and pray it works then when she scanned it. other than that everythis was great.

The entire line up was good. Bell Biv Devoe always puts on a good show. I was a little disappointed that they spent time pulling fans on stage.
