I’ve seen Beetlejuice the Musical 5 times (including 4 on Broadway) and although there were a few changes to the tour, it was still a phenomenal and hilarious time. The jokes always landed, and their singers all have incredible voices. Overall would recommend for families (13+) that want to go see something that will make them laugh (and maybe even cry)!
This surpassed our expectations! Beetlejuice is our favorite movie, so we were beyond excited to see it come to Norfolk! We loved every single second of this performance! The actor who played Beetlejuice was perfect in character and the actress who was Lydia was phenomenal! Her voice was beautiful and she is extremely talented! I’m so glad we were able to take our daughter to see this and will definitely be going again! It’s Show Time!!
If you go expecting the movie version, it's not. There were many similar things woven in the play but it doesn't follow the same story line. That's okay because it was enjoyable (for the most part) and the main character (Lydia) has a phenomenal voice! I enjoyed the character, Beetlejuice too but I really liked Lydia. The music was great but there were times when you couldn't understand the words in the songs - enough so that you were just waiting for something to be done to help get an understanding of what was being "said". The one thing I didn't care for was the super bright spotlights that were waving around prior to the performance. Their position was such that it was at eye level quite often and hurt our eyes. We remedied it by holding up the brochure in front of our faces until the play started but I would have rather not. Overall, it was a fun play but not one I would go see again.
The show was amazing, funny, emotional, and worth seeing. It's both similar and different from the movie to make it seem familiar and fresh.
It was a great show I give it 4.5 stars. It had great visual effects and was overall a fun and entertaining show
Amazing musical. A laugh from start to finish. Both understudies did an amazing job and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend going to see this musical!
Excellent show..my only downfall was people need to understand everyone don't like their pets...I could not handle a dog not sitting still and pretending to be a service animal...then they tell you how lovable it is..I don't like pets and that includes everyone....people don't know your experience and expect you to love what they love! Wrong and I think because we are jammed in there leave them home or have a special section for them.
My daughter had been wanting to see this show and we went last weekend. What a great time! We loved it. The show was funny as hell, the songs were great. Isabella Esler was amazing as Lydia (I couldn't imagine being that talented at that age). The Beetlejuice we saw was the understudy, and he was fantastic as well. Go see this if it is coming near you. You'll have a blast!
2nd time seeing this musical. BOTH casts did amazing. (Orchestra's and set crews did great too).
It was different seeing this brought to life as a musical, but overall I enjoyed it. Some of the songs were a little boring but the rest of the production kept me alive.
I was concerned when we arrived at theatre and there were three parts with understudies. My concern was unwarranted. Lydia and Beetlejuice performed as if they had been doing it forever. Great show. We left feeling energized and so happy! Love supporting Touring Broadway productions! Let’s bring more to Norfolk, VA!
I absolutely loved this show. The cast was amazing. The songs and comedy were great, and I didn't want it to end. although it strays from the original story line, you don't even care because it is so good!

Outstanding Performance it was a roaring good time. My family and I enjoyed it greatly.
First, most of the actors were understudies for our show. Not sure if that is the reason the pacing/timing was off. The show was not funny and unnecessarily vulgar. If you are hoping to see the same type of charm that was in the movie…..do not waste your money on this show. It’s not just me, please do yourself a favor and read the other reviews.

This show was 100% worth it. The cast was amazing. Loved the jokes.
Well as you already know the acoustics there stinks, couldn't understand half of what they sang. Thought the movie was better. Did not stay for second half.
