Bought these tickets for a Christmas gift for my elderly parents. They thoroughly enjoyed a magical evening. Great cast
Beautiful show, beautiful costumes, loved the voices of the stars of the show. They'd get a 5 star, but for the scene with the girls coming out looking like Las Vegas show girls - very inappropriate and unwelcome, especially for a show meant to excite children.
I took my teenage daughter who loves Disney, and we both really enjoyed the show. Her High School is performing Beauty and the Beast as their musical this year and several of the other students attended as well. After the show we all waited for the cast and when they came out they were all very friendly and excited to talk to all of the kids that would be taking part in the musical. What a great experience for these kids!
Wonderful and magical! Anyone who wishes to experience the fresh joy of this story through actors on stage will not be disappointed!
I loved every moment of it. The only thing is that I felt bad for the people with children because it wasn't as child friendly as they had hoped. Chip's head was kind of freaky.
We were in the front section near the stage in row E and let me tell you - it was perfect. Took my 5 year old cousin and a friend and we all thought the play was fantastic. The theater provides booster seats for small children but they ran out of them so make sure you grab one as fast as you can when you go. There was amazing puppetry, dancing, singing, lights and special effects. The orchestra was just fantastic! I would recommend this show to any Disney fan out there. It truly is remarkable.
The play/musical was well design and practiced. The scenery was great and the actors did a great job. I'll definitively recommend this!
The show was excellent. We had a family night out and enjoyed the show tremendously. We got there a little early and parking was very easy on a Sunday afternoon. The show was great. The audience was involved and enjoyed the show. I would recommend it highly. This show makes me want to go see more plays at the Civic Center. The ticket addon charges dissuade me more however. I ordered online line and every screen had more fees. Click.. more fees.. click...again another fee.
Spent an amazing evening with my daughter that brought back so many wonderful memories.
No issue with the performance whatsoever! Loved it. Only draw back was that it was hard to hear at times. Work needs to be done with the acoustics at this venue.
Since I was a little girl, Beauty and the Beast has always been my favorite. My boyfriend and I paid around $250 for wonderful seats in the orchestra section. There were definitely good parts of the play like Mrs. Potts and Lumiere. However, the main character Belle was nothing extraordinary. I could think of 4-5 people I know personally that would have performed much better and fit the character description better than the Belle who was cast. Additionally the sets were poorly made and they even used fake sounds for the beast. Also, one of the worst parts was that they made a Disney fairy tale story corrupt with inappropriate attire (completely unnecessary) for certain characters like the forks and spoons in "Be Our Guest" and made sexual innuendos throughout the script. I was not pleased with the director's alterations, and I would suggest seeing Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, or Lion King instead.
I took my two granddaughters ages 4 and 6 to see this play and it was wonderful. The costumes, music, set design and choreography were some of the best I have seen. I thought it would just be a kids play, but I enjoyed it too. The 4 year old was a little squirmy, but the 6 year old was captivated and engaged. She asked us if the people were real! Kids these days are so used to movies, it is good broaden their experiences and see live theater. I highly recommend this production.
It was enjoyable for all ages...I took my 2 neices age 9 and 4..they were at the edge of their seat..laughing and were definitely entertained throughout the show.
Great performance! Awesome production and overall a great show.
went to watch the show with my daughter and it was just amazing. very close to the movie with the added song here and there. lots of fun for the whole family.
Best!! Musical, effects everyting I loved it!! More than my expectations!
I'm not into musicals but you made my first experience amazing and unforgettable! I originally bought ticket as a surprise gift for my girlfriend but now I'll be buying more tickets for future broadway shows that come to SD. The cast of Beauty and the Beast did a marvelous job! Thank you for making my experience, and my girlfriends, memorable.
I loved the show... Im a huge Beauty and the Beast fan, and I thought the musical was AMAZING! They did a wonderful job incorporating a few new songs. LOVED IT
Gaston was my favorite! He stole the show and I want to see it again just to see him. He really did a perfect job and I like him better than the guest gone on the beauty in the beast movie. His sidekick was funny and good too. Belle the beast we're good. I think I would've liked to of seen the beast be more fearsome an angry in the beginning. The guy who played the candle was also really fantastic.
Great show!! Cast was awesome. Gaston was well cast.
