Always a wonderful show. I've been taking my kids to see Beauty and the Beast for years. This production never disappoints. Disney always puts on a great show.

Amazing performance, wonderful actors, great singing!! Candlabra was far more sleazy than expected - not sure this is one to take your children to... Some Costumes also lend to an older audience

Beauty and the Beast was outstanding. Best Broadway in Chicago musical I've seen in many years.

It followed the original fairytale very closely. Beautiful costumes! Very colorful. Loved the songs and dances. Overall, I recommend it and would see it again in a few years!

  • Epic WOW

by ColonelMatt on 3/31/15Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I was incredibly impressed not only with the quality of acting and staging, but how it was able to bring the original cartoon to life on stage and even improve on it. From the beast transformations to the magic of Be Our Guest, it was top notch the entire way through. The actor playing Gaston was especially incredible and I would totally go to this show again! Definitely worth it.

  • Would not recommend

    by Mandyjoy1987 on 3/31/15Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 1 out of 5

The theater was very tight spaced - the security was very rude and made me feel unwelcomed. Good and drinks over priced - I was double charged for parking as well - overall this was a horrible experience .

  • Wonderful Show!

This show was amazing!!! So many great song and dance numbers!!! All of the actors were great!!! The show was just the right length too. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that loves musicals or the Beauty and the Beast story!

Fantastic performance that closely followed the movie storyline. Gaston and Lumierre were unforgettable! Only negative was that the first act was very long, so many people were having to get up before the act was over, which interrupted the overall viewing experience. The show itself, however, was amazing.

  • Beauty and the Beast, not the real Disney

    by An0nymous973 on 3/30/15Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

The show was enjoyable but was much darker than Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Literally, there was much of the time the stage was blacked out with only a small amount of light. The Beast's costume is different than Disney as are some of Belle's. There was a great number with Gaston that had some incredible choreography that was really fun. Parts of the play were much more sexualized than the movie. Some of the songs were different than Disney's Beauty and the Beast. While we enjoyed parts of it, I would not bring a young child to this. The actors and actresses did a great job. The changes were at a level beyond them. The seats were great. We could see very well.

  • Extremely disappointing!

by tsesq on 3/30/15Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 1 out of 5

In the early 2000s, I saw a wonderful production of Beauty and the Beast in Chicago. It was stunning, sophisticated, and faithful to the tone of the movie. So when I found out that Beauty and the Beast was "coming back," I immediately purchased tickets for myself and my fiance, who was seeing it for the first time. To our extreme disappoint, everything about this current tour was puerile and lacked depth. It was nothing like the previous production. The set and costumes were not at all visually appealing--I could give many examples, but what stands out in my mind is the utterly underwhelming library backdrop and the total disaster that was supposed to be Belle's iconic ball gown. The only scenes that were actually impressive were "Gaston" and, to a lesser extent, "Be Our Guest." The biggest letdown for us was that the characters were portrayed mostly to elicit cheap laughs. The Beast is supposed to be intimidating, but in this production, he was just weak and whiny. Lumiere was not charming, but mostly annoying and even a little creepy. The only character we thoroughly enjoyed was Gaston, who was true to the original. I have been moved by the story ever since I first watched it as a six-year-old, but it was so poorly told that night that I was just waiting for it to end. We left the theater wanting our money and time back, and dying to watch the movie.

  • Wonderful 1st time experience for 7yr olds

by Anonymous on 3/30/15Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Our seats were amazing. My granddaughters sat at the edge of their seats for the whole performance. they could not believe that the actors were "Real People". during intermission and on a mad bathroom run, I left behind a bag, containing our playbills, headband and sweater of one of the girls I was more than sure it would be gone by the end of the show. there stood the custodian holding my bag up in the air at the end of the show. How wonderful for my grands to see that it had been turned in. Cannot wait to take them to see LionKing

  • Beauty and the Beast just great!

  • Was fine, just best for kids

    by spring25 on 3/30/15Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

I saw this when it originally came to Chicago - how many years ago was that? To say that I didn't remember everything would be an understatement. The performances were good and, of course, the music was fantastic. Some songs I didn't remember. I think my tastes have changed a bit since I last saw this. Some of the performances were a bit hammy in my opinion. A bit more slapstick than I remember, which keeps the children interested. I do think there were a few slow spots in there for the kids, but I didn't hear or see anyone acting up. I don't know if I would necessarily recommend to somebody without children who have never seen it before. But, I would absolutely recommend to anyone with children or who love Disney. Really, all of the performances were spot on.

  • magical

by iowaCitytransplant on 3/30/15Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

We hade seen Beauty and the Beast several years ago in NYC and loved it. Was happy to see it closer to home in Chicago. It didn't disappoint and was just as magical as the first time. Beautiful music, costumes, scenery. We were a little disappointed they didn't have more of the "fight" scene with the objects against the townspeople as that is comical.
