It was good for live Beatles music, but it was no Rain.
I don't know what show those people that gave bad reviews saw but I saw Beatlemania Now last week and it was amazing! Each one of the guys was perfect. The show had all the classics and some real neat additional stuff too like a acoustic versions of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I am a Beatles fanatic so trust me, if you love the Beatles, you will love this show. I saw Rain on Broadway (lame) and the Fab Faux (boring) and they were nowhere near as good as this show. Believe me, I know the Beatles. If you want to experience a great Beatle concert, this is the one to see. This was a benefit show that didn't even have all the mulitmedia that their regular show has. The Atlantic City show is going to have everything. I got my tickets and I can't wait to see it.
I saw this show in Myrtle Beach last month. I couldn't believe how great the show was. it was like the Beatles concert you always wanted to see. All of the band looked great in their part. The John, Paul, and Ringo really looked their parts and had all their movements and mannerisms. They had a new Mexican kid playing George and he was great. He didn't look like George that much until he put on the beard but he moved. played and sang just like George. The Paul was about as close as paul as you could be without it actually being him. The John had an unbelievable resemblance and he really captured John's voice and personality. And watching Ringo, I felt like I was seeing A Hard Day's Night or Let It Be or any of the other Beatles movies. That's how much he looked, moved and sounded like him. I live in PA so I'm making the trip to Atlantic City to catch this show again. If you're a Beatles fan, you should, too. I've seen other Beatles tributes before and nothing came even close to this.
I caught this show in Myrtle Beach an it was absolutely fabulous!!!! Paul plays lefty and the rendition of the new George's While My Guitar Gently Weeps was the best I've seen. It bought tears to my eyes and was haunting. Beautiful. The stage, the props, John was great and Ringo with his cigarette in his mouth and movements! I felt like Ringo was playing right in front of me. Don't miss this show. New members were added and they're unbelievable. I felt like the Beatles were in front of my face. I'm going to see them again.
The show was the worst, most painful concert we have ever had the misfortune to attend. We walked out after 15 minutes - Couldn't take it any more. It doesn't even matter that they didn't particularly look like them or sound like them, because they couldn't sing period! They might make the blooper out-takes of the worst of the worst on American Idol.
It was great to hear those songs again, live. They did a great job, recreating the feel of the Beatles. there was some weak singing, but that was cured before long.
Bad, bad. Sound bad, looks bad, venue was good. Beatle Mania Now was the worst show I have ever seen. Real Bad
music recorded but was billed as played note for note original. People lost their voice during the show. Amatuerish.
I am giving this performance a 1 only because 0 is not on the list. If it was not for the fact that a portion of the proceeds went to charity, it would have been a total waste of money.
This is a very good Beatles tribute band.,, I expected more multimedia content, since this act is based in the Broadway play Beatlemania from the 70s, but the content show was out of sequence witht the times they portrayed. Nice musicianship, albeit helped with some added instruments , probably prerecorded tapes. it´s hard to play a day in the Life live. The "John" caracter had a sore throat but he did his best to overcome it..very professional from him
I have been to many of the Beatle Tribute concerts and this had to be the worst. Not only did the performers have no heart or soul in the performance, their voices were tired and their vocal range were much to high . We ended up leaving.
We walked out of the show!! I have seen Beatle Mania and Rain several times and this version was the WORST show I have ever seen! The one who played Paul sounded like Alvin and the Chipmunks and John had a cold or something and was so hoarse you couldn't hear a word! Ringo was the best of them all and that's not saying much!! I thought this was a disgrace and if Paul McCartney heard this show he would throw up!! Bad Bad show...do not promote them again!!
I took my husband and family to this event as we are Beatle Fans....what a dissappointment. The guitar playing was about the level of a high school freshman garage band. The group actually stopped playing during a song because of a singer's "Frog" in his throat and then started again. Then the vocalist blaimed the lack of water on the problem...which came off as very arrogant because the stage hand had brought water up on the stage way before the singer even bothered to look for it. The quality of musicianship was just bad. I have heard better vocals at the Karoake night at Applebees. The "Paul and Ringo" characters did the best jobs, but all in all, it was a huge waste of money and time.
Not being old enough to have seen the Beatles, this could be the next best thing. They really played the songs well and the singers were great. I did see Paul several years ago and many of the Beatlemania songs had the exact same sound. I would definitely go back again.
I love the creative, stage show style of this performance! The costume and scene changes bring you through the various Beatles' albums and styles -- LOVE IT!! Note for note renditions and meticulously chosen impersonators lend the show wonderful authenticity. If you love the Beatles, you MUST see this show!
Please remember that this is benefiting the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida. It's worth the ticket price!
i have seen many beatles acts over the years, and was excited to see this one. i was extremely disappointed with beatlemania now. the "multimedia" is a joke, and the characters are a mixed bag. ringo was great, george was good, but john and especially paul-yikes. neither have any vocal range, and paul sounds like he's from the midwest! NOTHING like the real mccartney. it was almost laughable how bad he was. save your money!
This show was such a disappointment. I saw Beatlemania many years ago and have seen Rain- both shows were excellent! This was so bad I felt sorry for the performers and for my husband for purchasing the tix. My husband and I have already gotten tix to see Rain, which is touring, just to remind ourselves that there ARE good Beatles tribute shows.
I don't know if it was the sound system, but two of the singers were repeatedly off key. I expected something different.
Great show - well done - A must see for Beatles's fans and people who lived in the 60's and 70's.
