Really enjoyed the play. Great talent, especially the 2 children and CeeCee.
Great show! Loved everything about it, and highly recommend it!
I went with my very dearest girlfriend and we both loved it! It brought back lots of memories of growing up together and the bond we continue to share. Great music, wonderful actors...a must see!
My daughter and I loved Beaches! We love Drury Lane! The cast was fantastic!
My date and I both loved the performance. I have never heard of Beaches so I went there with a open mind and I thought it was absolutely amazing.
The 6 actresses who played CeeCee and Bertie each did an awesome job! Fast-paced and high-spirited! Professional in every way. Broadway talent in our own Oak Brook!
All four leading ladies are giving star turns in this musical version of the Bette Midler smash hit film. These great performances pay off in the second act after a plot and musically labored driven first half making the evening well worth your time. Fans of the movie will miss much of the score from the film but not to worry the blockbuster Wind Beneath My Wings is shoe horned in to satisfy the masses even if it points up the deficiencies of the new score.
You can't expect it to be like the movie. The second act was better than the first, so hang in there. Cici Bloom was great and the kids portraying the childhood were great.
The first act was slow in development, but the second act was excellent. The actors were very good, although the young redhead spoke so rapidly and high-pitched that some of her dialog was difficult to comprehend. From the "Wind Beneath my Wings" performance, right through the end, many in the audience shed tears.
Awesome play... Fantastic acting. My only problem was how close the seating is. Theatre is beautiful and when I sat down I felt crunched. I would definitely come back!
This show was amazing! Take a box of tissues! So much talent!
Each character was extraordinary in being their character. We truly enjoyed the way the story went, just enough music, just enough dialogue and a whole lot of emotion!! It was wonderful and more than expected. Award winning and definitely a must see.
The play "Beaches" was wonderful. Went with my best friend of 50 years and we enjoyed ourselves so much looking back on a long friendship. We were passing the tissues around at the end; it was so moving. I loved the way the play introduced the main characters in 3 different age categories. We had such good seats that we felt so close to the characters. I highly recommend this play; especially to women!
We were celebrating my mother-in-laws 80th birthday with family. We had everyone from 23 years old to 82! Everyone loved it. The cast is amazing and the show is so well done! I would see it again!
The girls who played CeeCee and Berty as children and teenagers were great. Some of the songs were excellent. I thought the actress who played CeeCee was too old for the part. It got a little long at the end. I more or less knew where it was going, but it seemed to take forever to get there.
Beaches is for all ages interested in good life stories. The actors are wonderful, the voices are grates. Bring extra tissues...makes you cry and feels real.
Wonderful musical! Makes you go back over your own friendships, makes you laugh, makes you cry!
Awesome. Totally entertaining and fast-moving. Fantastic acting and singing. Makes you laugh and cry.
The acting was incredible. Staging, costumes...everything was on point. I can see why the play was extended and so glad that I was able to attend the show. Looking to see more from Alysha Umphress! Bravo to the entire cast of Beaches!
Thought it was a great show with great acting and singing. The little girls were wonderful. Was worth the drive to Shirlington. A lovely neighborhood and nice theater with plenty of restaurants. Awonderful afternoon and terrific show.
