BEACH HOUSE IN CONCERT:

Dream pop duo Beach House plays a haunted rendition of ‘60s-style pop that is sure to captivate and mystify audiences wherever the group plays on tour. Singer/keyboardist Victoria Legrand is the focal point in concert, supporting her smoky vocals and graceful melodies with retro organ chords. Cutting through melodic basslines and minimal drum shuffles, guitarist Alex Scally weaves an intricate tapestry of chiming guitar notes. These sparse elements sound straightforward enough, but the group slowly adds layer after layer to create a climatic wall of sound on miniature epics like “Zebra”, “Norway”, and “Used to Be”. Ticket buyers can’t help but be swept off their feet as Beach House carefully constructs each intricate and atmospheric gem at their unforgettably hypnotic concerts.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

French-born vocalist/organist Victoria Legrand originally recruited Alex Scally to play bass for her Baltimore pop band in 2004, but he quickly romanced her away to form Beach House. Excited by the level of creative control they could achieve as a duo, the kindred spirits began composing their self-titled 2006 debut. Their atmospheric and mysterious take on classic pop struck an immediate chord with fans and critics, leading Pitchfork to name their debut one of the best albums of the year. The band signed to Sub Pop for 2010’s Teen Dream, which marked a major creative and commercial watershed for the band. While they’ve received increased attention in the following years, Beach House has kept their creative process unfettered: two best friends meticulously constructing one ethereal pop masterpiece after another. The results continue to transfix live audiences in concert and fascinate listeners on their recorded material, such as their critically praised 2015 album Depression Cherry.

    Best show ever

by HRG on 4/11/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

I totally sobbed the entire time. They were so good. Online, their music could seem sleepy and calm but they definitely have huge personality and care about their music and appearance. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll listen to Beach House on Apple Music or Spotify any day, but seeing them live was a life-changed. Loved it. Can’t stop thinking about it. You gotta go

    Just amazing

by Jay on 4/11/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

I love Beach House and this show was simply amazing. The playlist was split evenly between old stuff and new stuff off of Once, Twice, Melody. They were locked-in and the crowd was loving it

    So good

by Jay on 4/11/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

Remarkable how much impact this band has with such a small touring outfit. Grey show on a beautiful night. Was so fun to hear that it was their largest audience ever!

    Beach House at the Greek!

by Nani on 4/11/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

Loved the Beach House set. Very crowded and constant moving around by the crowd made it difficult to enjoy. Next time we see the band will be in a smaller venue. Can’t take away that Beach House was great and I love them!

Beach House put on an incredible show!! Their energy was contagious and electrifying. Ami Dang (the opening act) was amazing as well! I really enjoyed seeing them in what I consider to be one of my favorite venues.

This was an amazing first concert of mine and I was really excited and astounded how the concert turned out each song was another song to sing to and it was very colorful with the lights they showed. Amazing show beach house performed and I’m glad I was able to attend

    Amazing Experience

by TT on 4/11/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

The line to get inside the event moved very quickly. There were a lot of drink options but very overpriced. I sat at the top of the theater and still managed to have a great view of the band. Sound system was exceptionally well sitting at the top.

    Amazing. As Always.

by Paul on 4/11/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

Beach House is always great and the set list did not disappoint. It was made all that much better by the beautiful weather evening, under the stars at the outdoor venue in Berkeley.

There’s nothing like a beach house show, it will take you somewhere else, a place you never even knew existed within you. This was my 3rd show and I plan on going to many more.

    Amazing

by Willis on 4/6/22Paramount Theatre - Seattle

I loved the ambience of their set. They had an ominous vibe, being silhouettes with the backdrop of a rad light show. Honestly, they sounded better than their albums which not many performers pull off. I was absolutely impressed, and I loved their new songs.

    Surprising live show

by KEXP Listener on 4/6/22Paramount Theatre - Seattle

Loved Beach House from the albums. First time seeing them live. Impressed by how they perform the songs with more depth and extended from the album versions. A rare band that is great both live and on the albums but in different ways.

    Beautiful Show

by MDG on 4/6/22Paramount Theatre - Seattle

Venue: Well organized inside by the main floor security. Water given out to main floor. Merch booth placement less than ideal. Raining outside and no cover. Show: Beach House was wonderful 😍 Lights were amazing! Sound was incredible even for the opener. (Except for a few microphone noises during one song.)

    Out of Body

by WideEyedGirl on 4/6/22Paramount Theatre - Seattle

Wow! I’m still on a high from this concert experience and I was completely sober. The lights, the music, Victoria Legrands voice/piano playing. and Alex Scally’s guitar playing. Holy moly. I felt like I was floating on air the entire time. I went alone and made a ton of new friends!

    Phenomenal

by Kelly’s in Charge on 4/6/22Paramount Theatre - Seattle

This was my first Beach House concert. And I’ve got to say it was one of the most amazing concerts I’ve been to. The lead singers Voice was so Angelic it made me tear up. Listening to my late sons music (passed in 2020) made me feel close to him. Thank you for such a lovely music experience.
