BC Lions History
The BC Lions are the fifth oldest active franchise in the Canadian Football League (CFL). Founded in 1954, the Lions have made 10 appearances in the Grey Cup championship game and have won the cup six times: in 1964, 1985, 1994, 2000, 2006 and 2011. The BC Lions have claimed the Grey Cup twice on their home turf, including their notable 1994 victory over the former Baltimore Football Club, which prevented a U.S.-based team from hoisting Canadian football’s top prize. The Lions logged the CFL’s second-longest streak of playoff appearances, running for 20 consecutive seasons between 1997 and 2016. Throughout the BC Lions’ history, roster members have claimed 14 Most Outstanding Rookie Awards, 11 Most Outstanding Canadian Awards and Most Outstanding Defensive Player Awards apiece, seven Most Outstanding Player Awards, and five Annis Stukus Trophies for the CFL’s Coach of the Year.

BC Lions at BC Place
The BC Lions are the longest-tenured team to continuously compete at BC Place, starting with its opening in 1983. The stadium has grown in stature across the league, hosting nine Grey Cup championship games, including a Lions victory in 2011. During home games, fans can expect to hear the BC Lions fight song “Roar, You Lions, Roar” and get hyped up with team mascot Leo the Lion. The 54,500-seat multipurpose stadium has also hosted Major League Soccer’s Vancouver Whitecaps FC as well as games during the 2010 Winter Olympics and the annual Canada Sevens rugby competition. BC Place is located on the north side of False Creek in downtown Vancouver.

Everything was good. Lots of team support. Great work by the team. Fun atmosphere.
I took my bestie to his first ever BC Lions game. We went for the free shirts. Seeing the Lions game was bonus. :)
The game overall was a good time but man oh man the last 5 minutes the stadium was just erupting in ROARs. Great atmosphere and just an enjoyable family experience. Thank you BC Lions.
Great vibe and atmosphere. Excellent effort by the athletes and positive execution by yhe event staff !! 👍👍
We took the Interior Express from Kamloops and it couldn't have been any better. From the bus driver to the ticket takers, security, ushers, food vendors, a great time. It was so easy, relax on the bus, dropped off right at the stadium picked up at the same spot and brought home. Highly recommend going to a game. Not a negative to be found ( well other than the score lol)
The BC lions game was awesome, ticketmaster was quick and easy to use.
We won! With a back up QB. What's to say? I SHOULD ADD THANKS TO MR DOMAN for bringing the fans back and doing some okd fashion marketing and base building!
My hubby and I took the kids to the game. The new ownership of the Lions has really done a great job of making the whole-game experience a lot of fun! Mascots, the dance team, reasonably priced food and drink options and of course, football! The pre-game party was great too. We will definitely be back…
I was looking forward to a nice afternoon watching a football game with friends. I hadn't been to a game for a long time and when the overhead announcements started I thought they were pretty loud but figured they would soon pass. Well..when the music started they paled in comparison. The volume was beyond ridiculous..and relentless. Between every play the entire game. I actually had to cover my ears to give them a rest. It was seriously unnecessary. They could have had it at a volume that we didn't have to scream at each other to say something. Needless to say I will never go back to the stadium for a CFL game. Unfortunate for them as I know they struggle every year to survive. At a hundred bucks a seat I expected better.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere, food was good and the pre-game activities for kids were amazing
Outstanding event from Terry Fox plaza, the Trews, interactive areas, LL Cool J, and the game itself it was a fantastic day. Very impressed, Doman and the marketing group put on quite the event. Much like an NFL game. Looking ahead you have set a standard that will be very difficult to repeat, or come close. Looking at the schedule everything else will pale by comparison and will be a bit of a let-down. I hope the offence finds its game and injects a little more energy next game. We will be back for more. Excellent job!!
Amazing start with LL Cool J performing for an hour, with a great show to energize the fans. Then the Lions come out and show Edmonton that you dont walk into the Lions Den without being eaten alive. Great start of what we love to see by our power house team..
6 kids in total... beside and behind.. hitting us in the head with balloons and kicking our seats while the parents drank beer. 2 super drunk people in front of us made it reakly hard to enjoy the game. Left at half time and decided to not go to another game.
Great atmosphere, good shut out game, i did think the headliner LL cool J was going to play at half time. So i was a lite late at getting in the stadium and actually only seen the last 45 seconds of his show. I usually go to NFL games so this threw me off a bit.
I LOVE going to the lions game, the added bonus was seeing LL Cool J…I hope we could have more of these events
LL Cool J...Pre-game concert!!!! Wow! Our BC Lions defence was strong! No match for the Edmonton Elk.
Come out and support these guys people!! This ownership is everything the Aquillinis aren’t, and he’s really revitalized this team and the fan experience for what was always a great product that had until recently been poorly managed and promoted. Had a blast at this game and the pre game festivities were second to none!! Lots of kids in the stands too, which was great to see. All around great value and a great day out!!
LL Cool J performed and BC lions won because the cheerleaders got that SOUL
Took my 6 year old Son to his first ever BC Lions game for Father’s Day. We had such a great time we are going again!
What a Great Night!! LL Cool J deserved the middle of the field not a tiny stage at onw end of the field. It made it very difficult to see him so far away. I dont love football but having a Superstar come out made a huge difference and i took my family of 4. Great pricing and the game was a shutout. So maybe next yr put the stage in the middle of the field for everyone to enjoy the show. Also the concert t shirts were a great price but u needed more. Pins hats more smaller sizes for shirts.
