by u2traveler on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaThe setting for the BBC Orchestra (The Fox Theater) was the perfect back drop to such a beautiful orchestra.
Rating: 5 out of 5by Hopecamp on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta We had a great time. There were a variety of pieces and it was very entertaining. The pianist was remarkable.
Rating: 4 out of 5 BBC Concert was wonderful!
by blssd1s on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaIt was a wonderful evening even though we got there late because of traffic. But, we were able to sit in better seats! A great evening of music!

Rating: 4 out of 5 BBC orchestra very good!
by Billock on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaAside from being put off initially by the lack of a printed program the evening of music was superb! A talented and supremely capable group of musicians ably and sensitively led by maestro Lockhart. The all Russian program was played with flair and polish. Bravo to all!
Rating: 5 out of 5by Anonymous on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta The performance was wonderful, especially the Russian-American pianist. However, the program did not include any details on the content of the concert or the featured musicians. Luckily, the conductor was informed and consented to inform the audience as to the content. Would still like to see details about the featured musicians.
Rating: 4 out of 5 BBC Concert Orchestra
by CB311 on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaMy family and I went and truly enjoyed the event. It was wonderful to see the musicians so moved by their music. That definately came across to the audience in their performance. We will definately go again!
Rating: 5 out of 5 BBC Concert Orchestra was invigorating !!
by jpgbla on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaThe BBC Concert Orchestra was a great combination of classics, and yet a mixture that keep you engaged with anticapation of what was next. It was full of surprises with the second half of the show completely different than that the first half. Awesome, throughly enjoyed the entire show.
Rating: 4 out of 5 BBC Concert Orchestra Amazing
by phantom2004 on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaI'd never actually been to an orchestra "concert" aside from an occasional symphony in the park so I was not really sure of what to expect. The BBC Concert Orchestra lives up to their world renown title. Keith Lockhart was definitely the icing on the top. My only complaint is many of the audience members of the Fox seem to behave as if they are at a Braves game. This seems to be a common thing with the audience no matter what the event is. Unwrapping candy wrappers, bringing in stadium type food from the snack bar, cell phones being lit up every few seconds. I seriously feel the Fox would benefit by giving each audience member a 5 minute class before each show on how to conduct themselves. I'd definitely suggest seeing the BBC Concert Orchestra anytime...but in the presence of an Atlanta audience.
Rating: 4 out of 5 BBC Concert Orchestra
by Rammiegirl on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaI have to admit, the first perk was being able to get mid-orchestra level seats for such a great price. The second perk was being able to listen to a great orchestra at the Fox Theatre Atlanta. A very wonderful orchestra. I've always enjoyed groups from Europe, particularly the UK.
Rating: 4 out of 5by Anonymous on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta I recommend this event, and this venue xxxxxxxxxxx.

Rating: 5 out of 5 BBC Concert Orchestra
by SKJR on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaWe had a grand time. My 8 year old daughter loves to get dressed up and go to the FOX. She was spell bound by the music and thought the conductor was magical when he moved his hands and music filled the theater. It was her first time seeing/hearing an orchestra live and certainly won't be her last.
Rating: 2 out of 5 Fantastic music, bad venue
by BBCfan on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaI was blown away by the musicianship of the BBC orchestra. They played a very difficult program (Firebird, Rachmaninoff piano #2) and exceeded my expectations by a mile. Very powerful and insightful playing. However, the lack of etiquette from the audience was embarrassing. People were walking around, eating, drinking, shifting in their squeaky seats and coughing, apparently unaware that we were listening to a masterpiece. Honestly, I felt sorry for our British guests. If you want to listen to an orchestral masterwork in peace, pay the extra money and go to the ASO.
Rating: 4 out of 5 BBC Orchestra
by GLSQ on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaIt was very good. The pianist was fabulous. I thought from the preview there would be a more varied music type but remained mainly classical. Still a very fine performance.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Where were the lights?
by brownbagger on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaMusic was delightful, lighting was HORRIBLE. This event was not well publicized. The attendance was sparse as a result. Keith Lockhart has much more personality than he exhibited during the performance, which was excellent. The lighting on stage was absolutely horrible. Mr. Lockhart's face was in darkness every time he addressed the audience, and the lighting on the orchestra was very dim.
Rating: 5 out of 5 BBC was peace to the ears!!!
by KLWilliams on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaI was delighted to receive the offer; it was awesome!!
Rating: 4 out of 5 Pianist was amazing
by atlantamusicfan on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaThe orchestra was excellent, but the pianist was astonishing. The only negative was there was no program to tell us what was being played. Thank you to the conductor for recognizing this and helping us out.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Refreshing
by areallnicknamestaken on 11/17/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaThe music was absolutely beautiful! The selections were varied and yet all were -to me- restful and refreshing. So smooth and easy to listen to. The cellos and basses gave a comforting foundation. The pianist was fabulous. I only wish I was sitting close to be able to wtch his fingers. his enthusiasm was contagiou.Keith Lockheart was personable and helpful in his explanations of what we were to hear. I'm no expert, but I loved everything about the evening and came away happy and thankful. What a beautiful cultural mixture of British, American and Russian.
