Good show, but too many fillers that dragged it out...Too long.
Can I get a refund? The Greek Show was not good. MC"s were pre-school. Too much down time. I gave this show a ZERO, "POOR". On a good note, SU's Band was great! GREAT! I mean they were "AMAZING"
It was my 1st BOB and it was great. The show was put on well and the atmosphere was just what I needed.
The Female Greek groups other than the Deltas need plenty of work! THe Omega Men needed a better theme. The two emcees for the event were boring and downright awful. The bands came preparede and could have done without the old school music.
IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!, i ENJOYED THE STEPPING AND SOUTHERN WHOOPED GSU IN THE BATTLE.
The battle of the bands was completely enjoyable....I took my daughter to experience an HBCU function as it is a great family affair. It was fun, a little long with the Greek Show but the overall experience was memorable as it is every year. Thank you New Orleans for hosting this tradition, year after year, generation after generation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was dissappointed. The doors opened over a half hour late and i was sitting near a group of guys who brought a bottle of vodka in the building. Security was an absolute joke. They got drunk and the rest of the show was not enjoyable at all.
Big ups to the Spartan Legion for showing up and showing out. Big ups to all the bands foreal tho. One heck of a show
It was completley amazing Echols hall has great seats and all the bands had great amazing sound. Great battle.
Would have been a great event if there was more advertising in the hotels (no signage at all) and if the bands performed at their scheduled time (so that their guests were there to see them perform). Winning group was a big disappointment. If there is a second annual festival, hope it's organized more efficiently.
An excellent venue to hear new talent. Unfortunately the judging is subjective and the best band is underestimated and overlooked. As is the case last night with the band VIRETTA. They wwere the obvious choice to sweep the event based purely on talent, musicianship, depth of song structure and composition, and on many other musical levels. You will here of VIRETTA in the future, they are not going away.
Both bands were awesome. The Superdome, on the other hand, made us wait outside in the cold. I'll bet they wouldn't do that to the patrons of a Saints game.
enjoyed to the utmost. Would recommend attendance to everyone, next year.
Needs to be for college students only, who can appreciate this!!!
The stomp show had a couple of high points, but overall, the judges, the performances, and the hosts made me want to go to sleep. I actually was going to leave before the bands came out. Once the bands started to play, it was evident to the better band was. After that, there was nothing more to look forward to. I left before the end of the show.
All of the bands did really well, but I have to admit, my favorite "SLUMP" totally tore it up. They're one of the finalists headed to Cleavland to play at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Get your tickets now!!
The bands were amazing and so was the music. The female vocalist for the Glen Miller band was good but not great. Thus the 4 stars.
