School was in, ladies and gentlemen; and Mr. Plummer conducted a master class. What a magnificent display of a talent so relentless and beguiling as to risk being declared illegal. It was a performance that will rightly be remembered among the pinnacles of theatrical history in any city, let alone an impossibly fortunate Toronto, Canada.
Thank you, Christopher Plummer, for sharing your astonishing wit, command, poise, stamina and incomparable brilliance with us in measures beyond all bounds of generosity.
Thanks, also, to your intrepid co-star, John Plumpis, who - as foil to Plummer's spectacularly misspent waystral - provided a counterpoint worthy of a Bach fugue gone hilariously and disarmingly ribald.
