  • Bare Naked Ladies Was Fantastic

The concert was fantastic. They sang all their hits and popular songs to us and many others! They even made up a song about Red Rocks that the crowd really enjoyed. I would defineitly buy a ticket to se them again at Red Rocks The light show behind the band was awesome!

  • Barenaked at Red Rocks

It was a great concert, classic Barenaked Ladies. They had all of their normal banter with the audience and their musical talent was clear throughout the entire show. My only complaint is that, because Steven Page is no longer in the band, they avoided singing the songs he normally performs and omitted all songs from their album Everything to Everyone. Still, they have plenty of other good songs and did a good job showcasing it.

Great show- but weak encore. They could have played Yoko Ono song

  • Impressive

    by Betty52 on 7/13/10Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

I wasn't sure what to expect with the changed BNL. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and the musicianship of the band. They looked like they were having fun and that made for an enjoyable evening for everyone. Thank you BNL for a great show!! Can't wait to see them again.

I am not that familar with all of BNL music and I was still able to enjoy the concert. They made up funny songs and songs reflecting the venue. I would see them a again in a moment.

The barenaked ladies were amazing, as well as the venue. If anyone has a chance to either go to Red Rocks or see the barenaked ladies. Both are well worth it. Red Rocks is just a gorgeous venue and the barenaked ladies put on not just a performance, but also an incredible show!

  • Barenaked Ladies recoverd it

by Kyleesha on 7/13/10Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 3 out of 5

Red Rocks is one of those venues where you expect bands to turn on every thing they have. They are in a place where most bands go out of their way to book, so it was with some confusion that I saw that Kris Allen and Angel Taylor would be their openers. Angel Taylor started off the night with a minimal group, the trio performed well, and her she tried to engage the crowd as it filtered in filling the seats her performance seemed a bit mellow for an opening act, as I would expect that the headliner would want bands that would keep the crowds energy moving upwards in expectation for them. This did not bode well for Kris Allen who was to follow. Kris Allen who got his start on American Idol is young, and young as a performer, and it showed tonight. He failed to gain the attention of the audience, moving from song to song with out explanation or talking to the audience what so ever. Leaving me with the feeling that I may as well have listened to his CD (ED NOTE: this is not an admission that I have his CD) in my car. The more embarrassing moments came when he would try to get the audience to sing or clap along and would be met would ear shattering silence. Hopefully teaching him the lesson that you should always keep your backup vocalists singing even if it is quietly. American Idol gave him the boost to get started, it did not give him the chops however of working your way up doing thousands of gigs in front of crowds of people who would boo you off stage if they didn't like you. Kris Allen is young (23 if I recall) and has a lot to learn about performing, lets hope he has a career long enough to give him that time. Then came BNL. Or rather BNL minus one. Touring minus Stephen Page, one of their co-founders I was hesitant, knowing that the bands strong vocal harmonies relied heavily on the unique character of his vocal tone (equally upon Ed Robertson's) The now foursome however showed their still amazing musical talent by picking up numerous musical instruments, at one point with Jim Creeggan taking to the piano and Robertson simply picking up his base. Kevin Hearn did an admirable job of taking over the vocal job of Page, adding his own unique spin to the high vocal lines that BNL is known for in some of their songs, including "Sound of Your Voice" done with a doo wop feel. They of course included some of their off the cuff moments including a song about Red Rocks that was laugh worthy, along with a few other moments. All in all Barenaked Ladies recovered the night for what their opening bands lacked.

  • Very fun show!

The Barenaked Ladies were very enjoyable on a beautiful night at Red Rocks.

  • BNL always entertaining

by kornheiser on 7/13/10Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 4 out of 5

I've been to several BNL shows in the past, but none in several years. This was the first show I've seen without Steven Page, and I'm sure that's what brought the rating from 5 to 4 stars. The natural comedy and flow of the show was still there without him, but there was definitely something missing, including his distinct voice and harmony. They played a good mix of songs - I think they may have hit one from every album, and a few off their new one. I went with my wife, who enjoys BNL, but I certainly wouldn't call her a fan. However, she enjoyed the show too and they played the few radio-friendly songs they have, which helped out. Overall, I was skeptical of going now that the bands' "lost" Page, but glad I did. It was a fun evening.

The show was fun... and of course Red Rocks is an incredible venue BUT Steven Page's absence was felt. It saddens me that he is no longer with the band. Having seen them before, the impromptu silliness was not nearly as good. Ed did a few funny "songs" -- one about Red Rocks and one about Stieg Larsson and the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo that were great but I felt myself wishing Steven was there. Maybe it was just me...

  • by MrPenrod on 7/13/10Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

absolutley great show including the two warm up groups. the staff at the venue were also extreemely acommodating.

  • BNL - better than ever!

by MJdarling on 7/13/10Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

The BNL at Red Rocks was truly amazing! Their sound was incredible, they were funny and very entertaining. I was a little worried how they would sound without Page, but they are just as good if not better! LOVE them!

  • Barenaked Ladies at Red Rocks July 12th

by Antarcticgirl on 7/13/10Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 2 out of 5

Unfortunately this was a colossal waste of my money. I paid to see the BNL, not two opening acts, neither of which I knew or thought were worth waiting almost two hours before the BNL showed up on stage. I may have enjoyed the opening acts, but I had my ear plugs in due to the horrendously loud and distorted sound; thankfully the sound got better when the BNL began to perform. This is a shame because I am constantly telling people how fantastic the sound is at Red Rocks. Due to the fact that I have a job, which is how I am able to purchase concert tickets, I had to leave at 10:00, which means I got to see less than 45 minutes of the BNL; that 45 minutes was filled with great music but certainly not worth the money I paid. I have learned my lesson and will not purchase concert tickets at Red Rocks during the week unless I am absolutely certain there are no opening acts.

Great show! Funny stories in between sets. Would see them again.

Great time; everyone in theatre was dancing, great mixed ages. pls convey to the band that really appreciated their energy and ability to enjoy entertaining. Thanks.

  • Best Show Ever!

by Anonymous on 7/13/10Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

These guys are great, so humerous, fun and energetic. This was the best concert that I have been to in a long time and may even be THE best!

  • BNL still great without Page

by EdHitchhikedWithMeInVA on 7/13/10Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 4 out of 5

While I missed some of the Steven Page classics like Jane, BNL still have the playful, campy feel of earlier tours. Good song selection off the new album. I still get tripped up between Another Heartbreak and Here Come the Geese. Ed, if you're reading, I'm the guy who picked you up on the rainy street corner in Fairfax Virginia after the movies and took you to Circuit City. We talked about growing up in Tdot and singing the anthem at Avalanche games.

  • Lacked the Energy

by AdamInColo on 7/13/10Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 3 out of 5

Show was decent overall. They had some good on the spot 'parodies' and such. . . But, overall, they TOTALLY lacked the energy in the songs. It appeared they wanted to be there, but when they played songs like "One Week" and "Falling For the First Time" they totally lacked the spunk, energy and overall enthusiam when singing. . .

  • Great Show

by LafWel on 7/13/10Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

We enjoyed another great show at Red Rocks. As usual, the Barenaked Ladies put on a fabulous show!! Great music, great personality, and great entertainment!

I have always wanted to see the Barenaked Ladies, and they exceeded my expectations.
