Banda el Recodo -- the group's full name is Banda Sinaloense el Recodo de Don Cruz Lizarraga -- celebrated their 75th anniversary in 2013, and the Mexican Banda group hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. During the landmark year, the ever-evolving band -- believed to be the first Banda act to release a commercial recording -- was awarded with the Musical Legacy Award at the Billboard Mexican Music Awards.
Banda el Recodo was founded by clarinetist Cruz Lizarraga in 1938, and he remained the bandleader until he died of cancer in 1995. The group is still in the Lizarraga family, however, and counts four of his sons among its members. Banda el Recodo still tours regularly -- often playing in the United States -- with a huge lineup of musicians playing clarinets, trombones, trumpets, tuba, and various percussion instruments, along with vocalists. Fans who buy tickets to a Banda el Recodo concert can expect a wide range of styles representing the massive swaths of musical ground -- including Latin, big band, jazz and classical -- they've covered over their hundreds of recordings.
Horrible experience event was not organized very well. I was not able to see the concert due to Gate getting closed. Fan’s were forcing themselves to enter not enough security. People were fighting and super drunk. Currently waiting for a refund.
It was fantastic. The performances and the people. Everyone was happy. I enjoyed myself very much with my friend. We both enjoyed it the entire time and the food was great! Well worth the experience! Thank you!
The actual concert was great but getting in was horrible. I don't understand why we were made to wait THREE hours in a huge line to get in. Everyone in line had a ticket, why was the event not staffed to accommodate a sold out show? Apparently after three hours, security could not contain the crowd and that's when my family and I finally got in. To my surprise, the event inside was not full. I thought it would be crowded having been in line for 3 hours with so many people. By the time we got in, we were only able to enjoy the last 2 acts and missed all the beginning acts.
The lines were 4 hours long. Only one door to get in . Not enough security. When we finally got inside, they closed the doors and stopped letting ppl inside. A performer didn’t sing until midnight . Never again
This venue was overbooked, and flooded with people. Waited over 3 hours to get in. Trying to get in was a messssss! So many people were unable to get in. I feared my safety a lot of the times.
The tickets were oversold. It took us about 3 hrs in line before we got inside. By the time we were inside the show was almost over. 30 mins in line to use the bathroom inside. Ridiculous
This was the most unorganized event. It was giving astroworld.
Waiting in line over 3 hours to go in! Everyone should get a refund
This was by far the worst event I’ve ever attempted to attend.
couple of fights and room for improvement with a smaller sectioned fan zone. i think it being so large led to breaking it down and all the fights. a lotttt of people but i truly didn’t feel it to be so unsafe or chaotic where i was standing.
Please work on organizational skills with these concerts.WAITED FOR HOURS AND WASNT ALLOWED TO ENTER DUE TO BEING OVER PACKED. Never had an experience like this.
Sold out event not enough securities, people unable to get help for those not feeling well because it was overcrowded. More ventilation was needed. People jumping over to the vip where was security? This experience was more stressful than fun!
The artists performing did great, very entertaining and they could really sing live! Very interactive with the audience. The venue thought oof. I waited almost 3 hours and I arrived on time, they were taking way to long to let people in. When I finally got in they didn’t scan my ticket, they just glanced at it real quick. Probably because they were letting people in so slowly that it wasn’t even half full 3 hours in. Then after the show starting late because of their own fault, they finally started and when the last and most waited artists was performing they turned the lights on because they wanted him to leave already. Honestly I don’t think any big artists should go to this venue, they obviously can’t handle the organization of this sort of events.
The venue was great. The staff was really nice. Had the best drink that night. The variety of music bands was nice. Banda El Recodo was awesome. Great sound system and great performance!
I like the 2 performers, Banda El Recodo and Recoditos. The Venue is awesome, i would of liked for Recoditos to play longer. Only negatives was long line for drinks and not enough bathrooms for how many people were there.
I paid a general ticket entrance and had to get my ticket at will call. After arriving literally 2 hours later since it was over packed I got inside just to wait another 30 minutes because they the event staff couldn’t find my ticket!!! I had my confirmation email and everything. It was overall chaos! A lady had to let me in without a ticket, mind you I was not the only one whose ticket they couldn’t find. It was very disorganized.
The promoters of this event had a horrible set up for alcohol purchase/consumption. I will never return to this venue again.
They should open lore doors to let the people on qaited in line for an 1hr just to get in beer was very far away more police needed
show it was great but maybe you guys should take into consideration that a lot of women attending they're wearing heels and it's a long long time to be standing up without a chair nearby, maybe adding a few tables? I mean VIP area had a lot of room available for that!!! not just my woman but a lot lot more were having a hard time to stay standing up,
It was great. Had to much fun. Very easy to go in. Drinks were great. Thank you so much. It was a great experience
