    Carmina Burrana

by DaveGib on 3/7/10Capitol Theatre - Columbus

First rate performance. Despite the bad press, depicting this performance as to erotic in nature, it was very much in good taste and to the contrary. Whom ever reported this performance had no idea of it's breath and artistry. This was my second performance of this particular piece, once by Pacific Northwest Ballet, and now Ballet Met. The principles and Corp Du Ballet are very, very first rate as technicians and artist. I love this Ballet company and I have enjoyed every performance they have done this year. A much deserved bravo to you all, you move me and make we want to see more. The only criticism I have would be, this performance is one of those that deserves a full/live orchestra and chorus for Carmina Burrana, Had that been the case, I would have been utterly overwhelmed.

    Carmina Burana is visually stimulating!

by WRTZ on 3/7/10Capitol Theatre - Columbus

Carmina Burana is only the second ballet I've ever attended (other than The Nutcracker). My breath was taken away when the curtain was lifted - the first scene is a visual explosion! I really enjoyed the music and movement throughout the entire ballet. I'm still humming the music today.

    Beautiful Swan Lake

by MelissaDiane on 10/20/09Ohio Theatre - Columbus

Swan Lake was beautiful!!! The costumes, talent of the dancers, music, the story line, all made this a unforgettable ballet. I had to fight back tears at the end it was so very well brought together! I haven't been to many ballets, but I think this one tops my leading favorite of the Nutcracker!! The 2 ballet companies did a wonderful job and I have already told many family members they should go see it if it comes around again!

Swan Lake worth every penny to see

by clouwho on 10/20/09Ohio Theatre - Columbus

I love this ballet!!!!!!!!! I had the priveledge of seeing Swan Lake many times in California when I lived there. When I saw it in California it was danced by "big" named ballet companies. This was the first time seeing it danced in Ohio and I was very pleasently surprised by the wonderful, marvelous, and beautiful job that was done by Ballet Met!!! I will go see it again and again, and will tell others to do so also!!!

    Swan Lake was simply exquisite.

by Euclid on 10/19/09Ohio Theatre - Columbus

I took my wife as a birthday present, knowing she loves ballet. The ballet was so well done, the costumes, sets, and the collaboration of BalletMet and the Cincinnati Ballet so exceptional, it truly was a very rare and delightful experience. In the final analysis, I enjoyed the performance as much as did my wife, much to both our surprises.

    Swan Lake

by Libjen on 10/19/09Ohio Theatre - Columbus

A simple story well told by excellent dancing. There were no gaps in the dancing, it flowed from one set of dancers to the next. No awkward scene changes. Costumes were well done excepting the Queen. Her dress lacked inspiration. The scenery was very well done with the limited stage area of the theater. The dancing was superb. Blending two dance companies had to have it's difficulties, but the audience was the winner in that the stage was filled with excellent dancers at all times. I thought the second act was much better than the first. The buildup to the climax was palpable. Well done.

Swan Lake at BalletMet was Breathtaking!

    by Jodie101809 on 10/19/09Ohio Theatre - Columbus

I had always wanted to see a classical production of the historical Swan Lake. I was so happy to find that BalletMet was putting on a production simply because I am within 2 hours travel time, which made working it into my schedule and finances possible. My whole experience traveling to downtown Columbus with my husband was wonderful, and Swan Lake was the icing on the cake! It was a proffessional, quality production. The talent and skill of both companies are amazing and breathtaking. At times I had tears in my eyes. The beatiful set and special afffects did elevate the performace to another level, drawing one into this fantansy world. I can not speak hightly enough of the lead Odete - just wonderful fluid motion! The whole cast was outstanding, and I wish I could have seen it a second time through. Thank you BalletMet for bringing this piece of history alive!

    Swan Lake collaboration was impressive.

by Willameina on 10/19/09Ohio Theatre - Columbus

Choreography was wonderful--creative, unpredictable, easily advanced the story line. I especially appreciated the quick pace of the story. It did not seem bogged down in the dance as some ballets seem to me. Costumes were lovely. Some of the dancing technique was weak and distracting, but most was clean and fluid. The male lead was spectacular. Perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

    Swan Lake was amazing!

    by Josie0628 on 10/19/09Ohio Theatre - Columbus

I went to see Swan Lake with my 2 girls, ages 8 and 10 and some girls and moms from our dance studio. We could not have seen a better performance! The set designs were breath-taking, especially the fall scene in the opening. The long tutus and fall jackets on the dancers were beautiful. The best part was the beauty of the dancers, the athleticism of the dancers, and the stunning setting at the Ohio Theater.

    Swan Lake was enchanting

by Isobel on 10/18/09Ohio Theatre - Columbus

I had been looking forward to this ballet for weeks, ever since receiving the flyer for it in the mail. It was well worth the wait. This was my first time seeing Swan Lake, and it was amazing. I've never seen a ballet like it. The dancers were crisp and on point the entire night and did their absolute best. From the lead dancers to the children. I wish I could go see it again. I recommend this production of Swan Lake to everyone. For one night it takes you away from the rest of the world and all of it's problems.

    Swan Lake was bland

by minahuf on 10/18/09Ohio Theatre - Columbus

Lack of color other than white......The Queen only had one boring dress.....The Prince....two outfits.....Blue.....and some Awful Green & Black......and 2 or 3 scene changes.....There was little intensity.......Some woman coughed the entire time I was there when she should have been home in bed or at the hospital.....

    Swan Lake was magical!

by Scobey on 10/18/09Ohio Theatre - Columbus

I felt like I was transported into a magical place where whatever baggage I came with that night was checked at the door, and I could escape into Tchaikovsky's world: a world in which music and dance are vividly intertwined.
