    Excellent performance

by IamLucyVanPelt on 12/19/17Ohio Theatre - Columbus

I loved this show. The dancing was marvelous and the scenery was absolutely fabulous as well. I just wish the audience would hold their clapping until the end of the dance and not try to clap along so much. I really want to hear the beautiful music rather than a clap along! That is probably just me though.

    stunning performance

by Karfenn on 12/19/17Ohio Theatre - Columbus

The Nutcracker performance was absolutely mesmerizing. The sets, costumes, music and dancing were all spectacular! Young Clara was adorable, poised and a beautiful dancer. The Sugarplum fairy was perfection from her toes to her fingertips - a fabulous dancer! I loved it all and highly recommend it!

    Nutcracker was awesome!

    by KelleyL97 on 12/19/17Ohio Theatre - Columbus

We have seen The Nutcracker a number of times. The Ohio Theatre is so gorgeous...You get that smaller New York, old world feel - beautiful details all around you. We sat pretty close to the front this time and could really enjoy the sets. Much more than ever before in Texas! The venue, sets, and costumes were gorgeous and totally made the show!

    Boring

    by Muskyhunter10 on 12/18/17Ohio Theatre - Columbus

It wasn't as good as it was 17 years ago, I don't think I'll ever go back.

    Nutcracker was beautiful

by Anonymous on 12/18/17Ohio Theatre - Columbus

While attending the Nutcracker is a very special time for my family, we missed some traditional scenes this year. The mice performing the March of the Wooden Soldiers was disappointing to us. We always look forward to the March of actual wooden soldiers. I must say the Sugar Plum Fairy was outstanding.

    Absolutely magnificent!

by DickFoto on 12/13/17Ohio Theatre - Columbus

The music was tremendous, the whole production was spectacular! A lot of children there enjoying the show. We recently moved here from Toledo, and this was very different from the Toledo production. Beautiful costumes, beautiful dancing, enthusiastic presentation. GO! You will not be disappointed!

This production was beautiful! The professional dancers were perfectly suited for their roles and performed like they were. The costumes showed a clear vision of this lovely ballet. And the sets were ingenious. Thank you to all who were involved.

    Magical evening at the Nutcracker

by MamaFuji on 12/12/17Ohio Theatre - Columbus

It was a magical evening at the Nutcracker - from the greeting outside the doors by a life-sized Nutcracker, the carolers outside, and the wonderful greeters. Our granddaughters were enthralled by everything - the gorgeous Ohio Theater, our awesome seats, and the welcoming by the greeters. We found a very short line at the refreshment station before the event started. It would be helpful to have a couple more refreshment areas for intermission. The lines were very long. It was almost impossible to really browse the gift areas. Too many people. However, we would rate our experience a 10 out of 10.

    A 'Crackin' Good Time!

by jettan on 12/12/17Ohio Theatre - Columbus

This 2017 production of "The Nutcracker" is a keeper. From the costumes to the talent, the vision created lifted it above the usual. Of course, some things are tradition...the owl clock, the mice battle, but others were not. The acrobatic children were a delight. Grown-up Clara brought a beauty and lightness to the role I haven't seen for a while, and the male dancers also impressed with their strength and command. Bravo to the company for a fine performance. Such a shame that so many seats were empty.

Please share with Trip Advisor website

    by Michael25 on 12/12/17Ohio Theatre - Columbus

This is the most interesting performance since experiencing this in the late 1980s in the Columbus region. I have mostly been coming to this with my mother. A couple of years in the 1990s, I chaperoned a group of mentally handicap consumers (receivers) from a group called Peers Unlimited then sponsored by the Franklin County ADAMH Board which I urged the state of Ohio to reconsider support groups in the Mental Health System. These consumers would be most fascinated by this years performance due tp the extraordinary talent of the Ballet Met dancers especially elementary and middle school age children. A special thanks to the schools for arranging their studies with the prospective schools since they devoted many hours of rehearsal time despite their school study time. This effort paid off considerably. The orchestra was fantastic thanks to the wonderful Columbus Symphony conductor putting his extraordinary talents to his musicians whom he selected to perform this wonderful miracle. Conductors such as Leonard Bernstein, late Eugene Ormandy and especially the family of famous Lawrence Welk would have been proud of this orchestras efforts. Please attempt to get Public Television WOSU Channel 34 televised the reruns of the famous Lawrence Welk shows of the past 50 years until 1980 especially the upcoming Christmas show when it involved their musicians families. Also would like to have an audio CD recording for resale in a reasonable music store such as Bronners Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth MI, willing to pay more than $30.00 for an audio CD set due to Authenic Nature of this Musical presentation.

    "Parallel Connections"

by LoverofMusicandDance on 10/27/17Wexner Center Mershon Auditorium - Columbus

I can't remember when I've had such pure FUN at a ballet performance. I love modern, interpretive dance, so this performance was one of my favorites. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the percussion piece which seemed repetitive, and I found my mind wandering and hoping it would be over soon. However, the last piece was pure delight! On my way into the theater I talked with two women I didn't know, and I was surprised when I found them walking behind me in the parking garage. They were all excited because one of them had been chosen to dance on stage in the last piece. That was an experience they would treasure and share with others. What a wonderful way to spread the news about excellent ballet experiences in Columbus! I'm so glad Ballet Met collaborated with the OSU Dance Department. Let's have more of this!

The collaboration was the best part.

by IbeSam on 10/24/17Wexner Center Mershon Auditorium - Columbus

Have seen Ballet Met often over many years and the troupe keeps improving. Did not enjoy the choices of ballets and almost walked out on The Event because the percussion was hard to listen to.

Could have been a beautiful event

by JP7575 on 10/23/17Wexner Center Mershon Auditorium - Columbus

I was so looking forward to this event. we parked in the Union Garage and the elevator wasn't working so we trudged down 5 flights of steps and back up huffing and puffing. Enjoyed The Johnny Cash and the second number. The third was painful to listen to- The dancers should be given credit to be able to follow that awful piece of music. My head hurt. The percussionists were amazing as thew dancers but it was like listening to Hanon finger exercises for enjoyment. Terrible selection!! We left after that racket and missed the one that was supposed to be tremendous. I'm sorry we missed it but we had to trudge all the way back to the garage huffing and puffing. Next time find a better venue.

    Nice intro into ballet

by Cklo on 5/2/17Ohio Theatre - Columbus

It was pretty good. I felt like some of the sword fighting scenes were too long and death scenes not as dramatic as they should have been. Juliet was amazing! No need for 2 intermissions-maybe stretch first one a bit...
