BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Bahamas is the solo project of Toronto-based singer-songwriter Afir Jurvanen. He recorded and produced his 2009 debut Pink Strat in an isolated cabin in Ontario's countryside, the perfect setting for his reflective tunes. The album earned him a Juno Award nod the following year for Solo Roots & Traditional Album of the Year, establishing him as a hot new act on Canada's music radar. His warm, harmony-laden music shined on his 2012 follow-up Barchords, which featured the lush fan favorite "Lost In The Light". Touring alongside City and Colour, Wilco, and Elvis Costello, Bahamas earned legions of new fans and received praise for his mesmerizing live performances. With his calm, low-key tunes and carefree stage presence, it's no wonder he shares his name with a relaxing island paradise and leaves ticket buyers feeling at peace on his tours.
Bahamas, whether in a kid-friendly matinee setting, or a full blown full volume club show, never disappoints. The band is tight, the songs are exceptional and the atmosphere that is created is an authentic celebration of music and comradery. Worth catching any time you are able.

The Palace theater is an awesome venue to see your favorite performers. The Bahamas absolutely killed it and kept the audience entertained. If you love Afie and the band you will not regret seeing them live!

I’m a huge Bahamas fan and scooped up tickets for this show even though it was to be co-headlined with Dawes. I knew nothing about Dawes except it’s name and had never heard any of their music. Full disclosure: also tour billed as Bahamas as opening set with Dawes as his band + intermission + followed by Dawes closing set with Bahamas sitting in with them. I planned to leave after Bahamas set. Fortunately, they came on stage together and traded songs one for one for the next two hours. Made for a terrific concert and got to hear a lot of great Dawes music for first time. Afie was stellar. Crowd was full of both Bahamas and Dawes fans. Made for a great experience. Highly recommend.
First time seeing Bahamas here in Toronto. It was truly more than I ever expected. They are now one of my favourite bands.
The venue was beautiful, the staff was friendly and helpful and the show couldn’t have been better. The only negative was loud guests talking through the show.
I knew I loved Bahamas’ music but little did I know that it would be so lovely yet powerful when played along his talented band. Loved his humour and every moment of this evening .
Quite possibly the tightest band performance I’ve ever seen. A fabulous show on every dimension, and more so after the drought of the past 20 months.
First time at London Music Hall! Loved the venue, felt so good to see live music, Bahamas didn’t disappoint and the opening act was excellent as well!
London Music Hall is a great place for standing and getting down and sweaty to music with a groove. Bahamas is a slow-jam guy, and while the musicianship/harmonies were impeccable and he was on good form, this venue didn't lend itself well to his style. The sound guy had a nightmare with his vocals as well - far too murky.
First concert after the pandemic and it was AWESOME. Thanks Bahamas!
great to be out seeing live music again and Afie was just as excited. A true showman, he and his band soft-rocked out with sweet jazz-like guitar flourishes. he could probably shred with the best guitarists but prefers short & tasty licks. aside from all his top songs, Afie added some entertaining and witty comments along the way. great show, great sound.
Bahama’s we’re amazing as always. Great show great sound. Meridian Centre seats have been made worse by their installation of metal cup holders that make seating very uncomfortable. Horrible leg room now. Considering they’re not allowing beverages inside the theatre, why are they there?
The venue was great, sound staging was on point. The band, especially Afie were phenomenal. They always bring the engery and style to their playing. The improvisation live is fantastic! Bahamas are a must see event, any time they perform.
Not sure if it’s due to being the first live show in years but from the time we parked, getting through a fast moving line, walking to out seats during the first song. A perfect evening and an absolutely stunning performance. Thank you!
Afie Jurvanen is a consummate showman. It takes real balls to go out with merely an electric guitar and your voice to charm and disarm a large, restless audience. And he did just that. Jurvanen’s guitar wizardry puts him in a rarified league. Relying on very few special effects or boxes, his plectrum work is dazzling as well as his ability to conjure up goosebumps with little more than tone and finesse. My only quibble is that the the show would’ve been even more exciting if he’d brought one or two other musicians out throughout the set. The numbers he did perform with Sam Weber’s band backing him were incredible. This is a show you don’t want to miss.

Loved Bahamas on this solo tour! Music was amazing and he was really funny between songs. Wish we could have made it to another show on this tour, highly recommend seeing him live with or without the band.
Doesn't get any better than that, Afie puts on one helluva Shooobee Do Beee SOULFUL filling and hilarious show!! His lyrics and guitar playing are magic. Thank you for sharing your light with the world!
