The phenomenon known as Sublime, arguably the most energetic, original and uniquely eclectic
band to emerge from any scene, anywhere, ended with the untimely death of lead singer, guitarist
and songwriter Brad Nowell in May of 1996. But encompassing the sense of place and purpose
long associated with Sublime's music, Badfish, a Tribute to Sublime continues to channel the
spirit of Sublime with a fury not felt for some time. What separates Badfish from other tribute
bands is that they have replicated Sublime's essence, developing a scene and dedicated
following most commonly reserved for label-driven, mainstream acts. Badfish make their mark
on the audience by playing with the spirit of Sublime. They perform not as Sublime would have,
or did, but as Badfish does.
This band is wonderful and scotty don't is amazing if you havent seen them its a must
First time I went to House of Blues, had a great time! Flight's Kool, Scotty Don't , and Badfish were awesome!
Badfish could not be any possible better playing Sublime music unless it was actually Sublime playing!!!!
good show talented musicians, opening band was great.flight kool nj boys.
Governors Island is an awesome venue! First time being there and looking forward to going there again. They have a pretty decent selection of food to choose from as well as four imported beers and liquor drinks. Badfish was great as they always are. Cannabis Cup Band was pretty good as well. A little bummed that Easy Start All Stars couldn't make the rescheduled date but overall had a great night!
The band was great, my first time seeing them. Good venue, good selection of alcohol, didn't try any of the food.
The setting was definately a step up from all other venues, on the water front on Governors Island in NYC. The sky was clear, the full moon was huge, at the end of the set of the opening group Raggae Dub All Stars ( I Think) there was an unrelated awesome fireworks show accross the river with NYC as the back drop that we had a perfect view of. I was totally enthralled with the electric palm trees......the visuals for the night were just awesome. Badfish came out and of course just hit it from the start. They always rock their sets and get the crowd into it. We have seen these guys about 8 or 10 times and drove the 3 hours to catch this show. I highly recommend seeing Badfish, although we got there later in the night and missed an opening band or two, I dont think Scotty Dont played (Badfsh's Originals Band) who rock it also, and I highly reccomend the venue on Governors Island. Check it all out.
Awesome show! I never gave them enough credit before... they were excellent! I can't wait to go again the next time they come to my area.
I have to admit- between work and school I NEVER get out of the house! I've been wanting to see Badfish in concert for years and when I saw they were going to be performing so close to home I decided one way or another- I was going. I'M SO GLAD I DID I HAD A GREAT TIME
If you like Sublime you will love badfish. They are perfect and the crowd was great.
Their sick they play all the good songs and the lead singer is bad ass
the opening band was decent, Full Service I belive it was. Actually a rather expressive display of Ska-reggae, with the solid punk rock core wasnt bad. Bad-fich rocked, but apparently the same members play in another bvand Scotty Dont which opened for their other band Bad-Fish and that was god-awful. I dunno lots of posers and tools were there but its good to see someone keeping sublime alive. 3stars
This was my 3rd time seeing Badfish and Scotty Don't live at the House of Blues. Every time is a little different, and always fun. If you want to got to a show just to have a good time, dance, and enjoy chill music, this is the band to see.
I have no words to describe it. It was the most amazing concert, I love sublime, and I will dye loving them. Dudes, they are brilliant, as they say it is same in the end.
bad fish is good, they play everything u want to hear scotty please, dont. should b the name of the real band, scotty dont sucks
The band was great and the performance went on forever, thankfully. The lead singer was spot on, his voice made the whole show. The bass player could work on his stage presence by moving around more but the band was very likable and the entire crowd had a good time.
If I closed my eyes at some points I would have thought Bradley was up on that stage. Badfish played an amazing show and stayed true to all of Sublime's music. They kept the crowd involved and rocked the House of Blues. Thanks for a GREAT show!!!
without looking up its like sublime is actually playing
Asa and Lambda Chi did a greeeeat job setting up the show!
Really great cover band! They put on a fun show and have great musical talent. the music definetly has the ska-punk, reggae feel of Sublime and the lead singer channels Bradley well, while still having a dinstinct voice. If you get a change to see them defintely take it up! Also, Foxboro Showcase Live was a great venue for New Englanders.
