Good idea... challenging weather
by scottiezig on 4/19/16Sports Authority Field At Mile High - DenverIt's hard to give this event a glowing review because it happened in the middle of a snowstorm. The event was held on the stadium concourse, but it was absolutely frigid. This meant that any food that was sitting out turned icy cold (icy cold bacon snacks aren't all that appetizing). The vendors who tried to keep their food warm ended up with super long lines because they made things one at a time instead of having a full tray that would allow for quick access. Some of the vendors packed up and left halfway through the event. The only thing that salvaged this day for us was that we had VIP access, which allowed us to hang out in a heated tent on the field. The beer, however, was spot on. Tons of breweries (mostly local) serving two different types of beers per brewery. Good selection and friendly staff/workers, despite the weather. Unfortunately you can find the beer atmosphere at nearly any of the many Colorado beer festivals. The highlight of this event (and the reason for the ticket price) is the bacon component, which was an icy disappointment.
