About

Backstreet Boys on Tour

The pitch-perfect harmonies. The matching outfits and dance moves. The dreamy personas. When they set foot in an arena, the Backstreet Boys are absolutely in their element, belting out a massive catalog of original hits to an outsized audience that screams back every word. Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Kevin Richardson have been at it for decades, but even after setting the blueprint for acts like One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer, their 1993-formed group remains the best-selling boy band of all time. And unlike so many others (including their former direct competition, *NSYNC), Backstreet Boys never quit. They kept making records — adapting their increasingly adult sound to an ever-shifting pop landscape — and kept upping the performance stakes too, taking their NKOTBSB supergroup (with New Kids on the Block) on the road in 2011, and holding down a two-year residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas starting in 2017. Their DNA World Tour celebrates their rich history of swooning ballads and get-up-and-dance jams (and yet another No. 1 album in 2019's DNA).

Backstreet Boys in Concert

Despite becoming more or less a five-headed pop machine, the Backstreet Boys' origins were pretty organic. Cousins Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell came up singing in church choirs and at festivals in Lexington, Kentucky, while the other three bonded over their shared love for Prince and old-school R&B after meeting at various acting auditions around Orlando. They came together under the guidance of teen-pop guru Lou Pearlman and emerged in the mid-1990s as radio-smashing global sensations — the quintessential boy band yearning over heartfelt hits like "I Want It That Way" and powering parties with upbeat bops like "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)." Their first two U.S. albums — 1997's Backstreet Boys and 1999's Millennium — also marked the arrival of Swedish superproducer Max Martin, who helped forge a shiny new sound that combined bubblegum pop, classic R&B, hip-hop swing and dance production. The Backstreet Boys' astounding longevity owes as much to maintaining this baseline formula as it does to their ability to pull modern sounds and grown-man themes into the gleaming pop universe they created way back when.

    Must see! Relive your childhood

by AshleyG on 9/14/22Denny Sanford PREMIER Center - Sioux Falls

The concert itself was just amazing! Most fun I have had in awhile. Brought you back to your childhood years of listening to BSB. The venue at Denny Sanford Center was pretty great also, free parking! Cant beat that.

by Micaela on 9/14/22Denny Sanford PREMIER Center - Sioux Falls

This is the 3rd time I’ve seen them in concert and every time they do not disappoint! The energy they have from the beginning to the end is amazing! They are my favorite band to see in person!! I’ve been a fan since I was 8 years old and my love only gets stronger year after year!! I can’t wait to see them in person again!!

    Quality performance with delay

by Bestge11 on 9/14/22Denny Sanford PREMIER Center - Sioux Falls

The concert was fantastic! Their voices were still amazing, the lighting was unlike any show I’ve attended before. However they didn’t start on time or anywhere near that. The show started at 8:36 when it was supposed to start at 7:30. A little transparency would have been nice as the crowd was getting antsy.

    Lacking interest

by Leslie on 9/13/22Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

This is was my 18th Backstreet Boys show and my least favorite. The guys had no interest in being there other than AJ and Howie eventually got into it. I feel bad for the fans who went to Nashville - I saw them a week earlier in Ottawa and wow what a difference, they were on fire in Ottawa and just a way better show. Even the after parties in Nashville we're disappointing.

BACKSTREET BOYS DNA TOUR CONCERT 09/09/22

by HaleyDorothy on 9/13/22FedExForum - Memphis

I am a 35 year old wife & mother who took her 61 year old mom who loves the Backstreet Boys too. The last time I saw the BSB was in Atlanta on my 13th birthday Millennium Tour 2000. Going to see them 22 years later did not disappoint! The performance lasted about 2 1/2 hrs. We sat in section 112 great seats. They played all the "old stuff" from the 1995-2002 timeframe which was what everyone wanted to hear. The arena was packed/sold out we were all standing on our feet singing, dancing, while enjoying the BS Boys singing and dancing. The light show was great, there were big screens for excellent visibility, and the acoustics for sound were very good. The BSB engaged with the audience the entire evening and put on a fantastic concert that we won't soon forget and would gladly pay the $100 per ticket again to see them, because the concert was well worth the ticket price and the costs associated for the overnight trip we had to make to travel from Phenix City, AL to Memphis, TN because we missed the date they were in Atlanta. GO SEE THEM, YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!

    Amazing concert

by Iche on 9/13/22Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

I love BSB, and we weren't disappointed. They delighted their fans for almost three hours , didn't miss a song, and still have the magic on stage. Everybody there was singing and screaming with excitement. Even my ten year old was dancing and singing. I'm glad we didn't miss the chance to see them performing. We had to wait for more than an hour for the concert to start, but it was worth it.

    Fantastic show!

    by Jason C on 9/13/22FedExForum - Memphis

I saw them on the Millenium Tour and was blown away (though not really surprised as my wife saw them in 2012) at how amazing this show was. The vocals were still dynamite and the guys came across as very relatable and humble in interactions with the fans and each other.

    BSB- Memphis

    by C. F. on 9/13/22

I really enjoyed the concert. It was like a blast from the past. Backstreet Boys had a lot of energy and really gave their all for a great event. I would love to see them again. We parked in the parking garage attached to the building and it was easy to get in and out of. For some reason they moved us and we had better seating, so I wasn’t complaining. The only thing that was annoying was they were an hour late. No one really explained why nor was there like an opening act to kill the time. We almost left because of it but they came out just as we were getting up. So hopefully if they come back to Memphis or wherever, if they’re late again, at least have someone there to explain or at least have a opening band. Overall great show.

    Late start

by Me on 9/13/22FedExForum - Memphis

Good show but was suppose to start at 730 I can even get waiting until 8 to give people time but it was 850 before show started.Late shows are not a big deal but this was for my wife’s birthday and I had rented a limo for the evening until 1030 based off of concert.Luckily driver seemed to be understanding but I’m sure I’ll be billed for the hour late that he had to stay.

FedEx might need a new watch

by Joe on 9/13/22FedExForum - Memphis

The concert was good but the Forum ruined a good night. It started 1 hour and 15 minutes late with no explanation why. By the time it finally started, we, and those around us, were in a very bad mood. My wife who suffers from panic attacks was having a very hard time. This will be the last concert we attend at the FedEx Forum.

    Best night ever!!

    by Rockstar14 on 9/13/22

BSB’s back!! I was absolutely ecstatic from the second they stepped on stage. Basically got to relive my childhood for a few hours. Didn’t want the show to end. Was a dream singing the worlds to each song with the crowd. Can’t believe how lucky we are to see them perform together years later. If you have the chance to see them, do it. Will definitely get tickets to another show if I have the opportunity.
