Backstreet Boys on Tour
The pitch-perfect harmonies. The matching outfits and dance moves. The dreamy personas. When they set foot in an arena, the Backstreet Boys are absolutely in their element, belting out a massive catalog of original hits to an outsized audience that screams back every word. Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Kevin Richardson have been at it for decades, but even after setting the blueprint for acts like One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer, their 1993-formed group remains the best-selling boy band of all time. And unlike so many others (including their former direct competition, *NSYNC), Backstreet Boys never quit. They kept making records — adapting their increasingly adult sound to an ever-shifting pop landscape — and kept upping the performance stakes too, taking their NKOTBSB supergroup (with New Kids on the Block) on the road in 2011, and holding down a two-year residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas starting in 2017. Their DNA World Tour celebrates their rich history of swooning ballads and get-up-and-dance jams (and yet another No. 1 album in 2019's DNA).
Backstreet Boys in Concert
Despite becoming more or less a five-headed pop machine, the Backstreet Boys' origins were pretty organic. Cousins Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell came up singing in church choirs and at festivals in Lexington, Kentucky, while the other three bonded over their shared love for Prince and old-school R&B after meeting at various acting auditions around Orlando. They came together under the guidance of teen-pop guru Lou Pearlman and emerged in the mid-1990s as radio-smashing global sensations — the quintessential boy band yearning over heartfelt hits like "I Want It That Way" and powering parties with upbeat bops like "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)." Their first two U.S. albums — 1997's Backstreet Boys and 1999's Millennium — also marked the arrival of Swedish superproducer Max Martin, who helped forge a shiny new sound that combined bubblegum pop, classic R&B, hip-hop swing and dance production. The Backstreet Boys' astounding longevity owes as much to maintaining this baseline formula as it does to their ability to pull modern sounds and grown-man themes into the gleaming pop universe they created way back when.

by Christina on 11/17/22AMAZING!!!! I have been a fan since I was 13. I had their posters all over my bedroom walls. This show was just spectacular. There was so much energy and excitement in the crowd. My daughter and I had tickets pit tickets and we were so close to the stage! Not an empty seat in the venue. Their voices are still great. They sound just like I remember. The dance moves are still so precise. Brian is still so unbelievably gorgeous and now he has amazing muscles and tattoos that make him even sexier! They even took pictures of themselves on the stage with fans cellphones. An Unbelievable Night and a Dream Come True!!!

Honestly I felt like I wasn’t as big of a fan as I thought I was. I knew barely any of the songs they sang. I get this show was a follow up tour to their last album but I feel like artists who’ve been performing for decades should prioritize older songs.

My only gripe is the facility. For an amphitheater, it is not sloped enough making it hard for the verically challenged person to see much when people stand. I thought that the screens would help with some of that, but they were kept too low so were not always helpful either. I spent a lot of my time trying to see in between people which takes some of the joy out of it.

I’ve been to over 20 BSB shows and I’ve always been filled with joy! Great performers, all 5 can sing, and all 5 are great men! I can’t wait for a new album and new tour!!!!!

by 62-YEAR OLD BSB GROUPIE! on 10/6/22My interest in the BSB started at age 58 from watching an old YouTube video of their performance in London with NKOTB. First EVER show was on 7/20/19 in St. Paul, MN (Xcel Energy Center, a large venue). Went by myself having NO idea what to expect. Baylee Littrell was the backup and the concert started on time for both acts. I've been to SO many concerts at my age, but never experienced the fun and electricity of a BSB concert! It is truly "an experience like no other." So, I saw them again in Vegas with a friend when they added the two weekends at the Colosseum. A much smaller venue than in St. Paul and no back-up band. Concert started a tad late, but not an irritant. Finally, saw them in Sioux Falls on 9/11/22 after holding onto the tickets for three years because of the Covid postponement. The Sanford Center was the "perfect" venue. Not too small and not too large. It was beyond five stars of fun, dancing and singing. Everyone in the crowd was all IN at all three venues, but the size of the Sanford Center made the entire experience even more special. I believe everyone needs to attend one of their concerts to understand what it means to "experience the BSB." NOTE: For those that have given low stars because the BSB did not start on time. After seeing them on this tour three times, it appears the early start times are to compensate for an opening act.

by D. W. on 10/3/22Saw them when they came to Tampa June 21st, which also happened to be my son's 10th birthday. Best decision ever was getting tickets for the two of us to go! Definitely the best concert I've been to, and this is the 5th Backstreet Boys concert, 6th concert over all, that I've been to. Even after nearly 30 years those guys still have the energy and passion for their music, if not even more so now. My son now falls asleep to their music every single night without fail. I can't think of better celebrities for him to look up to. Can't wait for the next concert, maybe for a 30th year celebration??

You guys truly made this a wonderful experience for me that I will never forget. I just wish that I had a daughter or a son to enjoy this with and show how mom and dad use to be cool back in the day rocking to your music and still do. Don' t ever change and every girl has a favorite in the band of course it is A.J., but I truly adore all of you. You all are truly talented in your own individual way that is why you are so special to me and I love your music. I don't care if I'm 89, I'll still be jammin to the Backstreet Boys! Thank you so much for a wonderful boyband concert I never got to go to as a child. It was three times as better as an adult!!!!!!!!!!
