    Enjoyment

by noniqueen on 6/2/15Beacon Theatre - New York

The play brought back the songs of Gerald Levert and we had a great time listening as well as singing along. A must see!

Wasn't what I expected. Not terrible, but not that interesting either. I expected to Learn something new about Gerald Levert.

    This Show was Awful!

by Trobi126 on 6/2/15Beacon Theatre - New York

I have been to plenty of shows in my life time and this show happened to be the worst I've ever experienced. The casting and production was very unprofessional and distasteful. I can't believe the Beacon Theatre provided a platform for this play. I am still in a state of SHOCK! I love the O'jays and I have never been disappointed with their performances. I do not have time to go into details but this show reminded me of a amateurish high school production or a novitiate rehearsal act. If I thought it was possible to get my money back, I would have tried. Given the conduct and character of the staff for this event, I knew that was not a good idea nor a possibility. This show doesn't even deserve one star! But unfortunately, this was the lowest option that was available.

The story line was good but the production was terrible

Too long! Seemed like a High School Production.

by Godisthe1 on 6/2/15Beacon Theatre - New York

The singing was very good. I especially loved Eddie Levert. Everyone else did a really good job with the vocals as well. The acting was not so good. The storyline did not really flow and did not match the description of what the show would be about. Though the production was very long, the story never really developed and it seems a lot was left out. They could leave the dance scenes out with the exception of the African dance. The use of the screen to depict "Soul Train" and "Europe" was very back in the day high school production. The ending was anti-climactic and made no sense. The show did not start on time. There were also breaks that the audience confused with intermission. The microphone did not work during one of Eddie Levert's performances. Overall disappointing.

    SO disappointed

by BrooklynGal50 on 6/2/15Beacon Theatre - New York

My husband and I always loved the Ojays and LeVert so we were so excited to see this event, especially since Eddie LeVert was going to be involved. It started well with some songs that brought back memories of younger days. But the "acting" detracted from the music. It was some of the worst acting we have ever seen. If they had brought back the music of LeVert and minimized the chatter it would have been spot on. Also my husband is a musician and I used to do sound for some of his gigs...the sound mixing was off or where we were sitting was a bad area because the sound was pretty poor. So sorry this didn't meet our expectations.

    Disappointed

by 1289FNJ on 6/2/15Beacon Theatre - New York

There was a tremendous amount of talent in the play but it was written and directed very poorly and did not connect on any level. The vocal and dancing talent of the actors was outstanding but not presented in a cohesive manner. Additionally it started late and did not offer any type of program listing of the scenes or names and background of the actors. After two hours of a very confusing program they abruptly announced a "short intermission". For a play that is charging $100 for a ticket I expected much more than was provided.

I was a little surprised that it was more like a biography play than a concert. But,that was fine. The problem was that the production was slow, low budget scenery, the microphones cut off a couple of times during performance and it just felt as if the show was "thrown together" at the last minute.

Baby Hold On To Me was a waste of time and money!!

by Anonymous on 6/2/15Beacon Theatre - New York

I purchased these tickets as a surprise to my husband, who loves Gerald Leverts music. The show was a complete joke. It was like watching a very poorly, low budget movie. If we didn't think it would get better, we would have left after the 1st hour. I can't even describe what was supposed to be the logic behind the movie screen with the trip to Europe. Ugh, just awful!
