loved the singing, loved the man and loved his story!
To hear Eddie sing gave me Chills!! The story line itself kept me intrigued and couldn't wait to see what was next I have to tip my hats to all performers because even with a few mic delays I felt every song, every voice, and the story of Gerald's life. I admit ii went to my mother and ended up enjoying it myself. I highly recommend this play indeed!!
The singing was amazing; absolutely phenomenal. Most of the time I got chills from how great the singers sounded. I will admit there were some minor mic issues and late stage cues here and there but that just made me anticipate what was going to happen next even more. I loved the story line behind Gerald and his love interest and I was very entertained it was a great experience that i will remember for a lifetime. If they could fix the minor technical issues i don't see why i wouldn't Pay to see this show again! Fantastic night out with my husband and a fantastic must see show for ANY Levert fan!!!
amazing, all of the singers, dancers & actors were wonderful. Great show. The music was Awesome and incredible! I had a wonderful time and would love to see it again .Its a must see!
The show was okay. I loved the music but i felt something was missing.
The presentation of the play itself was horrible. I still don't know what Gerald's story was. Too much going on but still not enough. The play stopped abruptly and there was no introduction of the actors.
I'm so disappointed. I really wish there was a 0 star. I absolutely love Gerald Levert so as soon as I heard about this play, I purchased a ticket for my husband and I. I was so excited! I could not believe what I was seeing. I just can not believe that Eddie Levert had anything to do with this poorly produced play. I felt like I got robbed of $200 not to mention the parking. The singing to me was just ok however the acting and unnecessary dancing was horrendous
It was not what I imagined ! It was not worth the $97 I paid. The scenes were delayed , we were sitting in the dark anticipating what was next. sometimes you couldn't hear them because the mic was out. The guy that played Gerald was a great singer but lacked execution , he hardly ever moved. The Gerald I knew, every performance was like his last, ALWAYS SUPERB!!!!! They never sang a whole song just 1 hook...THIS PLAY WAS LIKE AN AMATURE DID IT! EDDIE LEVERT Sr. , came out 1 time during the performance for 40 seconds, and again about 20 mins before the show ended for only 2 minutes. He didn't even thank the crowd for supporting the show. it was like he was embarrassed about how the show turned out. What no pictures or meet and greet at the end ?! Im sooo disappointed!!! smh.....
The story line was horrible, the acting was sub par. There was too much dancing, it ended so ridiculously. At the end the cast was not introduced, it was very unprofessional. The acoustics at the Beacon are horrible
i thought the show was awful. Eddie should have been more into the show
The show needed improvements and it showed the amount of time that was put in it. Example the scene from from Africa was poorly displayed. The music was good, but the dancers was diseaterous. Look like show in Vegas, not african dancers. I also thought the songs could have told the story of his life doing or the making of each song.
It started late l was very disappointed, I was looking for more singing, the acting was less than good, the Mics were not working, the scene changes were slow, it was just a hot mess.
Are you kidding?! Can I have my $200. Back!! My husband and I were so disappointed!!! The sound was horrible, the story did not have flow. I do not know any more about Gerald Levert than before the play! People were leaving before the end of the play. Microphones were not working! Just plain disappointing.
This really had potential. But it was low budget, there was a clearly a lack of rehearsal.
This play didn't do Gerald Levert justice at all! It was so bad, I told my friend that she didn't have to pay for me for her ticket. #couldhavehadaV8.
There was a lot of things wrong with this play or tribute to Gerald Levert... 1-who was those dancers? Terrible 2-when it was time to go to the next scene it was a delay...they weren't on point 3-there really was no good story line.., 4-the whole audience didn't clap because I think everybody was confused about what was going on...
My only complaint is there were no programs so we really do not know who the actor/actresses are. It was a very good play, the actors/actresses were very good. The actors who played the roles of Gerald and Eddie Levert had really nice voices. I would recommend this play to others.
I drove from Delaware to see this play, I was very disappointed. The songs were great, they were excellent singers but terrible actors except for brother-man from the 5th floor. The play seems like it was thrown together, not direct story line. Music and singing great!!!!!!
I was very disappointed. They should have asked someone like Rubin Studdard to play Gerald Levert. Many people were disappointed and the cast could not act. My daughter and I wanted to leave b4 the first half was over which was over 2 hours. Someone yelled out "boring". Now that should tell u something. A waste of time, energy and money.l
The sound was bad. The microphones did not work. The cast was not introduced at the end. The video display did not work,. I was very disappointed my daughter brought the tickets for me for Mother's Day and it is too bad I could not go home and tell her i had a great time.
