About

Avenged Sevenfold is a heavy metal quintet from Huntington Beach, California that has spent over two decades as one of the genre’s biggest mainstream crossover acts. They’ve earned six certified platinum albums, four Billboard Hot 100-charting singles and nearly three billion YouTube streams. Formed in 1999, the band adopted their stage names M. Shadows, Zacky Vengeance, The Rev and Synyster Gates ahead of their 2001 debut album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. It wasn’t until the band added bassist Johnny Christ and transitioned to a more progressive metal sound for their 2003 follow-up Waking the Fallen that they began to resemble the uninhibited, creative force that fans recognize today. A7X’s 2005 major label debut City of Evil propelled the band to a wider audience behind the breakout single “Bat Country,” and their 2007 self-titled album built on those gains with a No. 4 debut on the Billboard 200. Following the death of drummer The Rev in 2009, Avenged Sevenfold regrouped for 2010’s Nightmare, which topped the Billboard 200 and hosted their highest Hot 100 hit “Nightmare” as well as the touching tribute “So Far Away,” which became their first No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. 2013’s Hail to the King also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and was followed by 2016’s The Stage, which garnered the band’s first Grammy nomination in the Best Rock Song category for its title track. In 2023, Avenged Sevenfold came roaring back after five years off the road with Life Is but a Dream…

Avenged Sevenfold was a Little Piece of Heaven

    by CornCobbPipe49 on 1/22/11Sovereign Center - Reading

Overall the conert was incredible. The opening acts were a little weak except Stone Sour went out strong with 30-30-150. Avenged Sevenfold was strong from start to finish, especially their strong opening with Nightmare and the energy that God Hates Us brought along with it. It was a very emotional concert, especially with the Revs passing and Arin's introduction to the band. All in all a must-see show.

Avenged Sevenfold & the rest were AMAZING!

    by Rosebud921 on 1/22/11Sovereign Center - Reading

#1 - didn't even know New Medicine was starting the night - they are awesome and just gained 3 new fans in me & my sons! Hollywood Undead was phenomenal, put on an absolutely incredible show. Stone Sour was really good as well. But the headlining band, Avenged Sevenfold, totally blew me away! The music was dead on, the show they put on... not enough words! They seriously know how to rock! My sons and I barely had voices from all the screaming & singing we were doing! I originally bought these tickets as a Christmas present to my sons, and really just wanted to share the night with them as this was their first concert. I seriously had no idea how amazing the night would be! I'm a new fan, and SO glad I picked this concert to take them to!

I thought Avenged Sevenfold was amazing. This was my first time seeing them in concert. I wish they played a longer set. I definitely would love to see them again. I think they should tour with fewer opening acts next tour so they can play longer.

I took my 16 year old son to the concert. He said that it was the greatest night of his life. How can I write any better review than that!

    Awesome!

i attended this event with my two sons 20 and 15. I am 41 and was convinced that i would be the oldest person there but i was far from that which is a testament as to these Group's appeal age wise across the board. That being said it was an Excellent show! New Medicine is the perfect warm up band, not really into their songs but good showmanship nonetheless. Was a bit surprised Hollywood Undead came out second, but they were incredible! Stone Sour was much, much more hardcore than i thought. Looking at you through the glass is the only song i had heard from them. When they started playing i had to ask my son if it was the same band. They played an excellent set! Mosh pits and crowd diving galore! Avenged Sevenfold left me speechless, period. They played a great set, great song order, great stage show, just incredible! Their tribute to "the Rev" was very genuine, it was in the form of the backdrop of the stage showing a picture of Jimmy which every fan in the building immediately recognized while they performed "So Far Away", very real and the whole building felt it. As for the Soveriegn Center itself, it is a nice venue, the staff is friendly, the location is fairly easy to get to with adequate parking available. it is a mid sized arena, not too small to be claustrophobic, but not too large to be overwhelming. I do suggest either getting there at least an hour before the doors open or leave yourself an extra 45 minutes to creep through the traffic once you get into the city of Reading.

Concert Rocked! We were down on the ground in front of the stage, in the mosh pit. One of my friends caught Zacky Vengeance's guitar pick. What a night, the crowd was really into it!

Hollywood Undead put on a great show to start the night. Stone Sour definitely set the tone for Avenged Sevenfold to come on, who put on an amazing show to say the least. Easily the best concert i've been to so far.

    Sullivan would have been proud.

by Benwag on 1/22/11Sovereign Center - Reading

A7X put on a great show in the spirit of the late great Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan. The sound quality at the venue was great, as well as the stage presence of the band. New drummer Arin did a great job on his first official tour date with the band. The spirit of the Rev was felt through the crowd, there was a great unified passion in the crowd for the music. Great show.

    AVENGED WAS AMAZING

by KellyyShadows on 1/22/11Sovereign Center - Reading

The show was, bottomline, incredible. I was there for the most part to see Avenged, but I knew for a fact that I was also going to enjoy Hollywood Undead and Stonesour, and did I? YOU BET I DID. Hollywood Undead killed it. They're such a great band with many strong voices and lyrics that just blew me away. Stonesour also did a great job. Corey really nailed it with his voice and interacting with the crowd. Amazing. But the best of the night, by far with no exceptions, was Avenged. I was on my feet the moment it all started with them, and I sang every single word and screamed my lungs out to the point where I could barely talk the next day. It was the best experience of my life, something I'll never forget, something that'll stay clear in my mind for as long as I live. I'm so happy to be able to say that I was there, I saw them, each and everyone of them. The interactions were amazing, when Matt spoke to the crowd and got everyone going, it was just great. I can't even say enough about it because nothing can't clearly state how I truly feel. It was just...outstanding. Everyone did such a great job, and I really cannot wait to go again.
