    Intergalactic or dimensional, not sure.

Well, I'm honored to be one of the first to write a review for this performance. Although I was bummed the show at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon I had scored a ticket to in 2020 was canceled — I think the intimate setting at Exit Live in Phoenix was a more appropriate introduction. The level of expertise put forth in Author and Punisher's set was apparent from the sub-frequency range to the lighting. Both Tristan and touring guitarist, Doug, were phenomenal in delivering the music. I had been familiar with the various tracks produced by Author and Punisher circa 2014 when a college pal introduced me to "Terrorbird" via a music video shortly before a lecture was to begin. Everything musically was aligned with our ideas for creation in the School of Arts, Media and Engineering. When I heard a big tour was happening, right before illness began to grip the world — I started listening closer, and more attentively as travel shuttered around the world. So, this performance was very nostalgic and had the ability to bring about a slew of memories from my years. I must say that following the May 10th, 2022 performance, I yearned for more experiences like this one, and became slightly obsessed. Author and Punisher definitely has a way of attracting an audience with the instrumentation, sound design, composition and performance. This is an artist that is skilled in drawing the attention of the curious, the innovators, revolutionaries and the experimental. The latest album, 'Krüller,' has received many accolades for 2022's album of the year and that is well deserved. The live performance of the album is not one to miss! I hope to catch them again live soon.
