AURORA IN CONCERT:

Rising Norwegian folk pop goddess AURORA has won over critics and fans alike with her stunning voice, synth-soaked sound, and spellbinding stage presence. The Scandinavian songstress is the epitome of style, taking the stage in futuristic fashions and rocking platinum blonde hair, but her cutting-edge look takes a backseat to her achingly beautiful vocals and soaring melodies. In concert she immerses ticket buyers in the emotional pull of lush tracks like “Runaway” and “Real Life”, closing her eyes as she sings and pantomiming her lyrics with otherworldly interpretive gestures. With her hugely anticipated debut album All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend generating big buzz in 2016, AURORA has fans eagerly awaiting the chance to experience her luminous live shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Bergen, Norway-born Aurora Aksnes started writing songs at age 10 and was discovered by a management agency during high school after a friend uploaded one of her tracks to a Norwegian streaming site. After releasing the songs “Puppet” and “Awakening” she signed with Decca Records and scored a breakthrough with the 2015 track “Runaway”, which racked up a million views on Spotify and got shout-outs from major music outlets like NME. Her 2015 debut EP Running With the Wolves drew even more praise, earning a Spellemannprisen (Norwegian GRAMMY) for Best Newcomer and propelling her onto the festival circuit. In late 2015 AURORA scored a Top 20 hit in the UK with a cover of Oasis’ “Half the World Away”, another big success that has fans looking forward to her 2016 full-length debut album.

    Too Talented at 20

by MarkyMark18 on 11/8/16Paradise Rock Club - Boston

I first heard of Aurora through YouTube watching the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She performed only a few songs, but I was hypnotized. When I learned she was performing at the Paradise Rock Club, I wanted to see her live. The line was literally around the block as people waited to get in. You need to get in early at the Paradise in order to get a good place before the stage. All general admission. Aurora has a magical voice which she jokes that she lost during the tour and regained before her Boston stop. So we were fortunate. He band complements the atmospheric pop. Not a lot of interaction between the band and her verbally, but musically they gelled. FYI....many of the songs are short, but she covers a lot.

    Amazing live show!

by Tbone9999 on 11/8/16Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Aurora is absolutely incredible live. She has an amazingly powerful voice and brings so much energy to her live performance. She brings a great live element to all her music and this is a must see show. It is almost a blend between Sia and Florence and the Machine. Do yourself a favor and go see Aurora live.

    Best concert in 30 years!

by HilaryOre on 11/8/16Paradise Rock Club - Boston

This was the best performance I have seen in 30 years. Venue is awesome! Aurora and her band put everything they have into the concert. From the magical voice, the story telling, the harmonies from the band members, and the strong support of the guitars, keyboards, and drums. My daughters stood two rows from the front and said the audience were harmonizing. Everyone took care not to trample or push anyone. At the back, I saw the performance clearly. Oh and the silence as people were captured by the performance. Jaw droopingly beautiful. I'll certainly see them again. Maybe in Norway?

    Ethereal and transcendent

by Imogen79 on 4/22/16Bowery Ballroom - New York

Aurora is even more incredible live than she is in the studio- her voice is just as clear and precise even when she's dancing around, her hands writhing in the air, but the atmosphere of that other-worldly music is even stronger. I wish I would have known that there were two opening acts (I'm from Belgium, so this may be the norm here) because while they were good, Aurora only came on at 10- but it was still an amazing experience.
