AURORA IN CONCERT:

Rising Norwegian folk pop goddess AURORA has won over critics and fans alike with her stunning voice, synth-soaked sound, and spellbinding stage presence. The Scandinavian songstress is the epitome of style, taking the stage in futuristic fashions and rocking platinum blonde hair, but her cutting-edge look takes a backseat to her achingly beautiful vocals and soaring melodies. In concert she immerses ticket buyers in the emotional pull of lush tracks like “Runaway” and “Real Life”, closing her eyes as she sings and pantomiming her lyrics with otherworldly interpretive gestures. With her hugely anticipated debut album All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend generating big buzz in 2016, AURORA has fans eagerly awaiting the chance to experience her luminous live shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Bergen, Norway-born Aurora Aksnes started writing songs at age 10 and was discovered by a management agency during high school after a friend uploaded one of her tracks to a Norwegian streaming site. After releasing the songs “Puppet” and “Awakening” she signed with Decca Records and scored a breakthrough with the 2015 track “Runaway”, which racked up a million views on Spotify and got shout-outs from major music outlets like NME. Her 2015 debut EP Running With the Wolves drew even more praise, earning a Spellemannprisen (Norwegian GRAMMY) for Best Newcomer and propelling her onto the festival circuit. In late 2015 AURORA scored a Top 20 hit in the UK with a cover of Oasis’ “Half the World Away”, another big success that has fans looking forward to her 2016 full-length debut album.

Aurora - the most authentic artist of our time...

by Dan on 5/29/22Fillmore Minneapolis - Minneapolis

She killed every song - unique - completely different from any artist alive today. The only artist that hs this quality and intent in her story telling is Kate Bush. I would say Aurora has surpassed even Kate Bush. Her band and her voice take her storytelling to a yell. It is quite unbelievable actually - how an artist can take what she cares about, put it in a song, and kill it in concert. I got everything I expected. Could not be more happy, and willing to do it again next year and every year...

    Aurora: A messenger of Hope.

    by D. B. on 5/28/22Fillmore Minneapolis - Minneapolis

If you are a fan, I think you should do all you can to see 💖Aurora💖 live. Simply amazing, as a person and as an artist and this is an understatement. Guys may not want to hear it, but someday women (like Aurora) should rule the world as (I believe) it would solve many of the problems we are seeing today (and next week, and next month, ...). This concert was on the 2nd anniversary of George Floyd's death and on the heels of yet another tragedy (Uvalde) in the US on the 24th. Even if that was not the case, Aurora would still have had the discussion about the fact that we are capable of such beauty and such tragedy and that the world at some point needs to see there is a better way. She has said so many times before in her online interviews. This type of empathy (and Exist For Love) is what made me a fan of Aurora in June 2020 and I am someone who grew up on Santana and Led Zeppelin. At that time, there were so many US 'superstars' unwilling to take a stand against social and climate injustice, then there was the beautiful princess from Norway doing what she believed to be right as opposed to what is politically correct. Aurora sang for about 2 hours and likely burnt-off 5000 calories lifting people's spirits. In spite of the timing and recent events, Aurora made it a party. If you ever get the chance to go, it is one you will not want to miss. You might find it hard to believe but she is even more amazing in person. If you are bringing kids under 10 (or adults over 60), you may also want to consider bringing ear plugs. Aurora really knows how to party.

Aurora is a doll. I was on the barricade, waited 3 hours.

by AP on 5/25/22The Observatory North Park - San Diego

Some people were camped since the morning but if you bought the fast lane ticket you'd def be in the first 5 rows. The workers had to change the line so there was a bit of shuffling but I'm guessing they dont encounter that too much. Great show to see Aurora up close.

    Fantastic Show

by Monta on 5/23/22The Observatory North Park - San Diego

Aurora’s performance was eaily one of the best concerts I have been to. We did not expect the Observatory to be standing theater only (tickets had seat #s) but luckily we had comfortable shoes on. It was pretty warm inside and a few people fainted but otherwise it was very cool. Aurora’s energy level was exactly perfect for every single song her and her band performed and we would easily go to another one of her concerts

This is my second time going to see aurora since 2 years ago and they were both just as fun, it was a little crowded and this time it was sold out so I’m glad I bought them months before I’m a huge fan of hers

    Unforgettable!!

by Parker on 3/5/19The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

This was my second time seeing Aurora, and although I enjoyed the first show, this second one was definitely my favourite. Aurora thrives off having space to dance, and her energy is so contagious with the audience. She is one of the best performers I have ever seen, and I am so excited to attend more of her shows in the future!!

    Aurora

by King070 on 11/19/16A and R Music Bar - Columbus

She has one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard. Live was no exception, she sounds amazing! Her stage presence and energy was great. She gives off an aura that keeps you fixated on how she vocalizes her art form while using physical movements that show it's something that really comes from inside.

    Aurora is just something else

by Silvermix on 11/8/16Paradise Rock Club - Boston

I can't remember the last time I saw an artist so unique, and I was lucky enough to see her in a small venue like the Paradise. I'm sure she will go on to play in way bigger places, so if you can go see her now, don't waste your chance and do it. Her songs are very different from what you hear everyday, her voice is really unique, and her performance is mesmerizing. At times she reminds me of Florence Welch, Bjork, Of Monsters and Men, and other artists with a "different" sound. I would recommend this show to everybody, no matter where or when she plays.
