About

ATREYU IN CONCERT:

Atreyu has been bringing the metalcore mayhem to stages big and small for nearly two decades, and they're as brutal as ever in the wake of 2015's acclaimed Long Live LP. In concert the band is a maelstrom of sonic ferocity, unleashing searing guitar riffs, undulating basslines, and blistering blast beats that always get fans thrashing. Frontman Alex Varkatzas leads the headbanging charge, issuing guttural growls and searing screams while he stalks around the stage with rabid intensity. The rest of the band is a well-oiled machine, alternating between hard-charging passages and heavy breakdowns with dizzying virtuosity. As the action in the pit heats up during favorites like "Falling Down" and "Becoming the Bull," fans can't help but get swept up in the adrenaline-fueled frenzy Atreyu whips up.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Atreyu formed in Orange County, CA in 1998 and hit the ground running with the EP Visions, a collection of seven hardcore punk-influenced tracks that they sold at their early shows. After releasing a second EP in 2001, the band signed with Victory Records and dropped their 2002 debut album Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses. The video for album single "Lip Gloss and Back" got significant airplay on MTV's Heabangers Ball, and the exposure paved the way for the success of the band's 2004 sophomore album The Curse, which sold more than 450,000 copies and cracked the Top 40 on the Billboard 200. The band's third album A Death-Grip on Yesterday was an even bigger success, topping the Rock and Hard Rock charts and drawing them out for extensive touring. Since then Atreyu has remained a metalcore mainstay thanks to their hard-hitting live shows and potent albums like 2015's Long Live.

Atreyu was amazing live 5 stars!!!!!

    by A on 11/19/21The Underground - Charlotte

The Underground in Charlotte was the Venue, drink prices are HORRIBLY expensive! One drink was $24, for about 8 ounces of liquid. They did not have water fountains or coolers so had to buy drinks for the 5 hours we were there. Every bartender charged a different price for the same drink every time, that was ridiculous! Atreyu was incredible, but The Underground definitely needs to improve! I give Atreyu 5 stars!!!!! The venue is 2 stars!!

Atreyu did an amazing job as well as the opening acts. The venue (The Fillmore) was great too and has never failed me. I highly recommend checking out this great rock venue and seeing bands like Atreyu there!

Great show, Whitechapel disappointed a bit

by Justin D on 11/26/19The Belasco Theater - Los Angeles

The lineup was fantastic, and the music was amazing. However during Whitechapel's set the bass (or drums?) sound was tuned too high, the drums completely drowned out the rest of the band. The guitar or vocals couldn't be heard while the drummer was drumming. I could see the crowd wasn't having a good time during Whitechapel's performance. Atreyu, He Is Legend, Santa Cruz, and Tempting Fate all had fantastic performances

    Amazing performance!!

by TatariusBlack on 8/24/18Somerset Pavilion - Somerset

Saw them on a side stage at Northern Invasion in 2018 with my fiance in the front row and while she doesn't like screamo music at all, we both absolutely loved them. I have been listening to them for about 7 years and this was my first show as well and it blew my mind how good they are live. The combination of Alex's voice with Brandon's is amazing, Dan is SICK on the guitar and so is Travis, Marc disappears into the crowd and continues jamming on the bass. Cannot wait for the next show!!!

Spot on vocals/sound, nicest band I ever met!

by AtreyuVIPticket on 3/16/16Masquerade - Atlanta

We opted for the vip tickets available on their fan page. This was a vday gift for my boyfriend as they were never a favorite band of mine. I was blown away at the show! Iv been to more concerts than I can count, but these guys sounded as good, if not better live than on CD,and they really knew how to work a crowd! Between guitar solos in the center of the "pit" to their fun joking attitude and the fact that none of them seemed anything but sober, you could tell there was no place they would rather be than right there on stage, back touring and making music.(Also the only concert iv ever took the time to leave a review for) VIP TIME: after the show we all were lined up by the brother of one of the band members. My fear was that my boyfriend would be crushed to find out his idol was a jerk, but NOPE! they were nicer, more humble, and down to earth than the majority of people you cross in every day life, hell, more than most of my friends and family! There was no rush at all. A band of 5 greeting about 12-15 ppl for atleast a half an hour with signatures,1on1 photos, 1on1 long conversations about anything we wanted... it was amazing. We had our fill and left while they were still talking and joking with the small amount of vip holders that hadn't left yet. We drove nearly 4 hours each direction to see the show. I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I could. They are by far a favorite band of mine now. I will forever be a fan of theirs.

    Amazing Show

by JamesM26 on 10/24/15Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Atreyu has been one of my favorite bands for years. They helped me maintain my sanity throughout two tours of duty in Iraq. I've been trying to see them live for ten years, but have always missed them. Finally seeing them live was incredible. I hope they come back to Boston soon and I would definitely go see them again. This was the first show I've seen at the Paradise Rock Club. The club is perfect for a rock show. No matter where you stand, you're still close to the stage and in great view of the show.

Atreyu puts on a fun show!

by MrNumber9 on 10/15/15Paradise Rock Club - Boston

This was an all around good show. It was cool to see Vanna come up and do something quick with Beartooth. They rocked it by the way. I look forward to seeing new material from Beartooth and seeing them live more. Atreyu put on a really fun show. It was a lot different from when I saw them years and years ago after The Curse came out. They were also very confident that the audience has followed them through their discography because they played some of their most popular songs (Right Side of the Bed, The Crimson, etc) at the beginning of the set. The crowd loved everything. Brandon's voice is still great. I'm still amazed he can sing like that while playing drums and Alex is very energetic. His vocals were mixed pretty low it seemed, but he was dancing around the whole stage and made it out into the crowd and even into the balcony throughout the show. Looked like he was really enjoying the tour. If you get a chance to see them live, you really should. Long days and pleasant nights.

    Very Good Concert

by usmcwife08 on 10/10/15Irving Plaza - New York

This was my first time at Irving Plaza. Beautiful place, filled with history. Very good venue for concerts too. I'm not really a fan of this genre, but my boyfriend's friend bailed at the last second and I wasn't going to let the tickets go to waste! The opening act, that we caught, was okay. It was Beartooth. Atreyu is pretty easy to get into. They're also pretty funny and seem easy to get along with, if given the chance. Very crowd oriented, with the guitarist going through the crowd a couple of times and the lead singer crowd surfing. I'd definitely go again.

    Wovenwar rocked the place

by am81 on 10/10/15Irving Plaza - New York

I was at this show for one group. WOVENWAR. Malaki was ok, female singer with pretty good range. Wovenwar was awesome, exceeded my expectations 10 fold and I can't wait until they return to the area. After wovenwar ended I left, don't care or listen to beartooth or atreyu. Funny moment was the amateur standing in front of me who was wasted on 2 bud lights. Dude learn to be able to handle your booze, bud light? Your friend and girlfriend were embarrassed by your inability to not be smashed on 2 bud lights... loser
