ATREYU IN CONCERT:

Atreyu has been bringing the metalcore mayhem to stages big and small for nearly two decades, and they're as brutal as ever in the wake of 2015's acclaimed Long Live LP. In concert the band is a maelstrom of sonic ferocity, unleashing searing guitar riffs, undulating basslines, and blistering blast beats that always get fans thrashing. Frontman Alex Varkatzas leads the headbanging charge, issuing guttural growls and searing screams while he stalks around the stage with rabid intensity. The rest of the band is a well-oiled machine, alternating between hard-charging passages and heavy breakdowns with dizzying virtuosity. As the action in the pit heats up during favorites like "Falling Down" and "Becoming the Bull," fans can't help but get swept up in the adrenaline-fueled frenzy Atreyu whips up.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Atreyu formed in Orange County, CA in 1998 and hit the ground running with the EP Visions, a collection of seven hardcore punk-influenced tracks that they sold at their early shows. After releasing a second EP in 2001, the band signed with Victory Records and dropped their 2002 debut album Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses. The video for album single "Lip Gloss and Back" got significant airplay on MTV's Heabangers Ball, and the exposure paved the way for the success of the band's 2004 sophomore album The Curse, which sold more than 450,000 copies and cracked the Top 40 on the Billboard 200. The band's third album A Death-Grip on Yesterday was an even bigger success, topping the Rock and Hard Rock charts and drawing them out for extensive touring. Since then Atreyu has remained a metalcore mainstay thanks to their hard-hitting live shows and potent albums like 2015's Long Live.

    Excellent venue and staff

by NorCalHellcatRocker on 5/11/23Ace of Spades - Sacramento

The Ace of Spade is one of my Top 3 venues to attend. The staff is always awesome and helpful. The security the works the stage barricade are All stars and are constantly watching out for the audience. It’s common for them to hand out free water to those near the front. They are quick to diffuse and situation between guest without having to kick them out. I find it awesome that gif less than $50 I can enjoy concerts at this venue better than others that cost more. I feel like a VIP whenever I attend concerts there.

I like the Van Buren. I just wish they had better options for purchasing single show tickets for the mezzanine.

Great show and venue odd guests

by RobLee on 5/5/23Knitting Factory - Boise - Boise

Lylac and Atreyu were AMAZING!!! absolutely would have put Within Destruction first since they barely moved on stage. Point North second which they seemed to be lip syncing? It was a pretty disappointing performance if the lead singer was sick or unable to perform well most fans would have understood and even respected the decision to take care of the artist. Putting Lylac third with a larger stage would have absolutely made more sense. They have such a stage presence and energy and definitely deserved more space! Lastly Atreyu was AMAZING what a damn good show for a group that has been together for almost 25 years!!! I would love to see them again if I get the opportunity!!

by Ty Baggins on 4/30/23Ace of Spades - Sacramento

I've been to more shows at this venue then I could possibly count and I saw Atreyu do things that I have never witnessed before. Such a great show and if they are coming anywhere near you, do no miss out. Such a good time and amazing performance. It felt so personal and you could tell that the band was just having a great time with the music and the crowd. I'd pay to watch again if I could. What a blast!

Screwed up my meet and greet

by Raiderzz1979 on 12/12/21The Depot - Salt Lake City

I purchased 2 meet and greet tickets. When I showed up for the show my name wasn’t in the list for meet and greets. I spent over $380 for tickets and the receipt only shows the total amount spent and not an individual receipt for the meet and greets so there was no way to prove I bought them

Amazing show. Best venue in SLC for sure.

by Berginator on 12/12/21The Depot - Salt Lake City

So glad they played here instead of the Complex. Much more intimate experience with killer sound and not a bad seat in the house. Fourth time seeing Atreyu and this was the best show of theirs I’ve been to.

    Amazing, personal show

by Zoe on 11/19/21The Underground - Charlotte

Atreyu absolutely rocked! It was a small venue and it was a very personalized show, I got to pick the song out of a bowl because I was standing up front and they chose me, which was amazing. They played all their most popular songs and a fair few from the Baptize album as well. They sounded just as good in person as on the album, and the lead singer was incredible. We were so close I got to high five the lead singer, and they were really good for crowd interaction. The energy was incredible. Would definitely go see them again!

    Awesome Night!

by Debby on 11/19/21The Underground - Charlotte

Enjoyed all of the bands although I really went just to see Saul and Tetrarch. Just wished Saul had had a longer set. Had just seen Atreyu in September, but seeing them in a small venue was waaaay better. Seeing a band up close is always better. Really enjoyed their set. Saul nor Tetrarch disappointed either and the excitement level for both was great. Was not familiar with the music of Crown the Empire, but thoroughly enjoyed them just the same. Defying Decay was pretty good too, despite a fill in for their vocalists. Overall it was a great show, enjoyed immensely!
