For over two decades, Atmosphere has maintained a course of rigorous output, releasing over two dozen studio albums, EP's and collaborative side projects in as many years. In that time, the venerated duo have built a legacy out of bringing honesty, humility and vulnerability to the forefront of their music, continually challenging themselves to evolve without straying too far from their roots. Slug has proven masterful at storytelling and writing compelling narratives, leaving a trail of his own influence while paying homage to the rappers and songwriters that helped shape him. Ant has skillfully molded the soundtracks with inspiration from soul, funk, rock, reggae, and the wizardry of hip-hop's pioneering DJ's and producers, creating his own trademark sounds while providing the pulse for songs about life, love, stress and setbacks. At its essence, Atmosphere has been a musical shepherd, and with each new album comes a new journey as they guide generations of listeners through this thing called life.
Must see. Great music is a given, and Sean is a wonderful showman. I'll see them every single opportunity I get.
Few rappers can put on a really good show. Atmosphere does that and then one ups it. In the Family Tour he follows Grieves, Blueprint, and Aesop Rock. They all have good performances, perhaps progressively so. But you're getting the ticket because of Atmosphere and they are simply incredible. Hands down, this was the best rap concert I've been to. Slug even cameby and shook the hands lf everyone who was in line early, so about 200 people. Go to the next tour stop. Even with the embarassingly bad opener prior to Grieves, the show was an amazing experiance.
Seriously. Go to Atmosphere whenever you have the chance. Absolutely amazing show. Slug is a riot. he's a funny guy and cares about the fans more than any other artist I've come across. I even met him before the show. The opening acts were so-so, but it's hip-hop and they need to get out there and feel the crowd to perfect themsleves too. grieves & Budo were great. Aesop Rock/ Rob Sonic/ DJ Big Whiz were awesome. Just a frickin INCREDIBLE day/night. GO!! Oh yeah, the in-between DJ (DJ ABilities) was hella good too. Props to him.
This is the third time I have seen Atmosphere in concert, and among a handful of Rhymesayers concerts I have attended. The Greek is always a perfect venue, regardless of the music genre, and this was no exception... Slug was amazing, and his smart Hip Hop style was enjoyed by the masses that filled the Greek last Saturday night!!!
The WHOLE SHOW was fun and amazing. The feeling of the crowd was unforgettable. The Greek Theatre is one of the best venues i've been to yet! A must see!
Atmosphere was abso-freakin-loutely incredible. I'm still buzzing from the show. I will see them every time they come through.
This was a great concert and venue. My husband and I had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this show and venue to friends!
So basically Sab the Artist was lackluster and Blueprint sucked but Aesop, Grieves and Slug blew my mind.
Greives and Atmosphere by far the BEST preformers there. I expected it from Atmosphere obviously but Greives' new stuff is awesome! Great show.
Stellar show. They are one of those legendary hip hop bands that every fan must see!
I knew atmosphere was going to do a job good but I would never have imagined just how amazing this concert was going to be.
It was a great show, Atmosphere never fails to change up the songs, Slug makes them original each and everytime. Which is the reason I will see them over and over. He brought us his home, to see where they're from, it was very bluesy and awesome! They really love us as fans which in return makes us the fans love them even MORE!! Slug walked through the long long line and shook hands and hugs for everyone. I heart Atmosphere!
Atmospheres a great group and theyre even better live! I would highly recommend to anyone who listens to hip hop.
I drove from San Diego to Pomona & it was well worth it. I've seen them play many times before but this time was one of the best! Slug was full of energy & has the greatest stage presence. The band was sick...& Ant rocked it on the decks. The crowd was full of energy & the vibe was amazing. The Fox Theater has a great set up and really good sound. I love that they played a lot of their old stuff. It was nice to hear tracks from Lucy Ford & God Loves Ugly....& hear Slug sing them with the same passion & intensity he had years ago when they were new. All around it was a great show & I can't wait to see them play again.
When i arrived the line was pretty long so instead i decided to go to the nearest bar down the street and with a couple friends and celebrate cinco de mayo. Next thing i know Sean Daley just so happens to walk by, alone, looks inside the bar and walks back! He gives me eye contact but i just sit there like an idiot star struck. One of my favorite rappers of all time and for the first time i get star struck. Kickin my self in the ass for it, but the fact that he was just walking around all alone day of his concert and talk to his fans just shows how amazing and real of a person he is. Even Anthony Davis was walking around town giving autographs to people in line. Overall his performance couldn't have been better, didn't matter if u were in front or back of the concert hall u got a good view, amazing music and a good experience.
Although Atmosphere headlined, Blueprint and Grieves had much better performances. I do applaud Slug for meeting and greeting with everyone in line before the show. Atmosphere played a good mix of old and new songs.
Atmosphere put on a fantastic show. The venue was great and the crowd was awesome.
If you ever have a chance to go to an atmosphere concrt anywhere please don't miss it. Not only are you in for great music and a great show but a great story as well
I can't wait to see them again. I have been a huge fan with a good ole fashioned teen aged crush on this group for years but this was my first opportunity to see them in Richmond. Needless to say their live performance has me already hungry for their next show anywhere nearby!
this was the best show iv ever been to!! i didnt expect the openers to be that great, but grieves was pretty legit, hes definitely the next big thing for rhymesayers. atmos was so good and the crowd was so into it, i wish they had another show soon or something!
