For over two decades, Atmosphere has maintained a course of rigorous output, releasing over two dozen studio albums, EP's and collaborative side projects in as many years. In that time, the venerated duo have built a legacy out of bringing honesty, humility and vulnerability to the forefront of their music, continually challenging themselves to evolve without straying too far from their roots. Slug has proven masterful at storytelling and writing compelling narratives, leaving a trail of his own influence while paying homage to the rappers and songwriters that helped shape him. Ant has skillfully molded the soundtracks with inspiration from soul, funk, rock, reggae, and the wizardry of hip-hop's pioneering DJ's and producers, creating his own trademark sounds while providing the pulse for songs about life, love, stress and setbacks. At its essence, Atmosphere has been a musical shepherd, and with each new album comes a new journey as they guide generations of listeners through this thing called life.
Great show. They played every song I wanted to hear. Great stage banter. Great sound.
Before Friday night, I had never heard more than a few songs but thanks to my persistent boyfriend, I can safely say that Atmosphere have gained another fan. It all started off with me just tagging along with my friends ( all huge fans) and MAYBE I'd enjoy some good music but by the end, I was having a great time and will definitely purchase some tracks. The boys from Minneapolis brought nothing but energy and style to LA: the crowd was at 100% ear cracking volume and everyone had their hands in the air. The rap duo brought it hard and it seemed the entire crowd was losing their minds. If anyone is concerned with the future of rap & hip-hop, you've nothing to fear: Atmosphere and other underground artists such as themselves will obliterate any doubt.
It was my first time at the Palladium, the venue and show were amazing.
Atmosphere put on a great show and the opening performers were good choices, Thye also provided a great set with tons of energy. I am more metal fan so this was my 2nd hip hop show. The first one was also Atmosphere. Its great to hear hip hop that has meaningul lyrics instead of the nonsense you hear out there. Overall, great gig. I wish I would have purchased tickets for the following day.
This was my first rap concert and it was by far one of the best shoes I've ever been to. The opening acts, Dem Atlas and Prof, were SO talented and fun to watch and Atmosphere was just amazing.
I've seen Slug over 34 times since 1999. This was the best. So glad I went. Prof was amazing as well!
One of the best hiphop shows I have ever been to. Have to love the venue as well first time at Clifton park and I would not hesitate to go back!
I can die satisfied. The world may never see another group like Slug and Ant. Perfection.
This was my first Atmosphere concert and it was fantastic. The venue was intimate and Atmosphere put on a very good show. The setlist was varied between his new and older songs, which was nice. He was good at including the crowd in his performance and was very funny.
Great show all around going back every time he plays here
Atmosphere was amazing! Slug came out and made sure to talk and interact with every single person in line waiting outside of the venue, which really set the chill and warm tone of the show. They played songs from virtually every album they've made, all the way back to Overcast and Lucy Ford, which is all I hoped for and more. Slug and Ant were both on point for this show, giving 100% throughout the whole set. dEM aTlas and Prof opened for Atmosphere, unfortunately. Dem atlas was pretty good - good energy, good message - but it's still early in his career and has a lot of work ahead of him. Prof was really bad. He does not belong on Rhymesayers. He completely lacks any intellectual or thought-provoking lyrics and he has a certain cocky arrogance to him with nothing to back it up. Overall though it was a fantastic show, thanks to the fine gentlemen in Atmosphere.
Atmosphere never disappoints. The show in portland was no acception. It was a truly amazing show. Props to slug and ant. It'll be a night I won't forgot. Even got to meet them after the show. Highly recommend seeing atmosphere. State theater was awesome too. Great venue. Great crowd.
The show was amazing. All acts, all staff and all the fans. It seemed like one big family. Keep Atmosphere coming!!!!
Wasn't even a fan, went for my boyfriend and it was great! Great venue as well!
Best show ever atmosphere is always the best show of the year!
Being a huge fan of atmosphere, for at least the last 10 years or so I've somehow never managed to get tickets for their shows. I'm so glad I did this time. The love, respect, and solidarity was definitely felt throughout the venue and I've never had a more positive experience at any event. I loved that there were both old classics and new songs from the Southsiders album. These guys deserve all the praise they've been getting. You can tell all they do is eat, sleep, breathe music. All three acts were fabulous and I'd without a doubt watch this show again and again. Thank you Atmosphere, deM atlaS, and Prof for putting on the best show I've ever been to!
deM AtlaS was freakin amazing & so was Tokie Wright! Atmosphere was so legit!! Cant wait to see him again
I was kinda bummin about the venue at first but the show was amazing. Slug is captivating and atmosphere kept it real. Loved that they played he older stuff!! I've been a huge atmo fan for years and finally just got to see them now so I'm still just beaming with happiness!!! My boyfriend went as well, he's actually met Ant and has been seeing Atmo since 2002. Definitely a great show, can't wait to see you guys again.
good opening acts, short wait between acts, atmosphere brought high energy
The sounds from the speakers was kinda crappy for some songs. Also they sped up slower songs and it was like listening to a different song which was disappointing. Other than that I really enjoyed atmosphere.
