    Great Production!

by Jane on 12/13/23Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

I have seen many productions of The Nutcracker, and the Atlanta Ballet’s 2023 version did not disappoint. The special effects were superb and the action was fast paced and suspenseful. I was happy that the ballet kept the attention of our two granddaughters who had never seen it before. The venue was excellent- easy parking, well organized and friendly staff, and beautiful gift tables. It was a memorable event and truly helped to get us all in the holiday spirit.

    Last matinee for me

by Frustrated on 12/13/23Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

We had great seats and enjoyed the program as well as we could with all the children kicking my seat and talking all through the performance. I will look for a more adult show next time, no more matinees

    Magic!

by Lindsay on 12/13/23Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

The Atlanta Ballet’s performance of the Nutcracker was pure magic!! It was mesmerizing and the talent of the dancers was out of this world amazing. Bravo! We hope to make it a yearly tradition.

    Fresh Take but still classic!!!!

by Jenni on 12/13/23Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

This ballet and venue had just enough new technical details (digital assets, forced perspective) and new character development to make it way MORE interesting than the same old tired Nutcracker. It was mesmerizing! We had 1 young child and 2 older kids with us and they were all enthralled... The costumes and the sets were beautiful, a lot of details on the costumes and the sets... and new perspectives on the story- I won't spoil it.... but still had all the classic elements of the story and a live orchestra that really made the evening memorable... the performers also illustrated a lot of humor without using any words, only movement, the audience laughed several times...the skill level of the entire company was definitely at expert level - several unique dancing and acrobatic techniques were added with the pointe ballet and traditional ballet... Just fantastic....

Atlanta Ballet at Cobb energy performing arts Center

    by Dasadoll on 11/17/23

As I prepare for this year‘s holiday ventures, I recall last year‘s Atlanta ballet nutcracker experience at the Cobb energy performing arts 🎭 center in Atlanta, Georgia, it was a pretty good experience. I took my friend’s little girl with me as I usually go alone. We took pictures around the huge props at the top level and we enjoyed the different festive treats. Although the Fox Theatre is my favorite bc of its antique Décor and it being one of my happy places, the Cobb energy performing arts center was pretty dope. 🥰

    Disappointment

by A on 1/6/23Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

I really wanted to love the Performance. Unfortunately, compared to another Nutcracker performance from Europe, this was quite poor of a performance. In my opinion some of the higher skilled and more elegant performers where given very small rolls compared to the not as talented dancers where given the main parts of the play.

    Little better than a recital

by Nesiré on 12/29/22Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

Not the Nutcracker you’d expect from the Atlanta Ballet. They spend an hour (the totality of the first half) dragging out the Christmas party, which should just have been an introduction for the rest of the ballet. The second half was merely an adaptation of the journey to other lands and was rushed and lacking. The costumes, though some better than you’d expect (rats & snake) most were what you’d see at a child’s recital. No classical ballet elements here. This ballet (though you can hardly call it that) did not take you through a magical journey. Mother Ginger was NOT Mother Ginger but a large cage that had amateur dancers swaying at the bottom. The Russian dance was a huge flop and did not have the jumps or bends or any wow factor. Disappointment after disappointment throughout. The best part of this show was the venue and orchestra. Do not recommend!

The Nutcracker at Cobb Energy Center

by jdhgreat on 12/28/22Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

My wife danced with the NYC Ballet Company and the Birmingham Ballet Company. This PSYCHEDELIC version was well done, but FAR from traditional. We both agreed that we MUCH prefer the traditional rendition of the Nutcracker. We would FAR rather see The Nutcracker at The Fox with traditional choreography and scenery.

    Amazing experience

by David R. on 12/27/22Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

We took our 7-year-old granddaughter and other family to see the Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker. The dancing was beautiful and very engaging. The production was amazing. Not only the sets and costumes but the projections were vivid and delightful. The video-like projections are the perfect thing to gain and hold the attention of 21st-century children and draw them into the dances.

    Delightful

by Ckf on 12/26/22Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

The venue was beautiful and comfortable. Our seats were perfect. The performance was enhanced by the holographic images and oversized props. Certainly was surprised by the mixed media in a classical ballet performance.

by Connie on 12/26/22Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

My son and I attended the Thursday night show as our very first new holiday tradition and it did not disappoint!! Seeing this ballet had been on my wish list for years and with my son home from college...it was a perfect evening ❤️
