Thank God they're good girls
by Pops on 12/27/23Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaIt was the first Atlanta Ballet experience for my two grand daughters, 9 and 6, with their Grandpa they call Pops. Thank goodness they were good girls with training in patience. The show was well over an hour late. The concept for the technology interactions was great but it didn't work. Such a big production in our city should have technology back up. Then the dancers were less than Atlanta Ballet top quality I expect to see at the Nutcracker. We're a progressive artistic, athletic city. We should present some of the best dancers in the country. Ours that day were some good, some not so good. The orchestra was very good. The merchandising was also less than expected. I felt for sure I'd come away with a couple T Shirts for my granddaughters and maybe a Nutcracker, but both were not up to par at the merchandising booths. Such a great opportunity to maximize income potential, as 40% of all ballet revenue in the US is from performances of the Nutcracker, and the patrons are loaded and ready to spend for their families when they come. You need a new Director of Merchandising. I couldn't waste money, and I wanted to.
